The arabic guy defected to the Russian army, his name s Murat aka Shah,

Good questions, the scuad in charge with Major Yegorov was sent to ensure Lt Doronin s success, they were all just used, Yegorov was the only one who knew that they re whole mission was not a reconnaissance but keeping the bandits down as long as they could before sending the rest of the army.
