everybody can do parkour, in my training group we have girls which are under 1.60m and they do very well...you just adapt your way to your abilities and sometimes being smaller is even an advantage (ie you are lighter, fit better throug holes and so on)
I bet you guys look so funny just in the middle of the city doing this. You guys are amazing though. I love the wall climbs. You guys do that "kick up" thing great. The thing where you kick your leg up behind you to get on top of the wall after the climb up.
How I interpreted what you said about liking deep jumps and jumping from roof to roof, that is not what parkour and free running is about.
There is a larger physical and mental philosophy of balance and concentration, and at the same time testing your body's limit, and in truth, heights are not neccissarily reconmended, nor is it safe.
In the end it is all about perspective. how you and I see it may be completely different things.
Just to let you guys know you guys are really good and id like to sy i=that ive been doing parkour for about a whole year now but i keep having a problem with my rolling i know how to do it but its like when i hit the ground i turn out rolling straight on my spine. Any ideas to keep my mind clear and focused.
mate try to roll from your shoulder to the hip on the other side of your spine, like from right shoulder to left hip, so you dont roll ALONG with the spine because that hurts :P
It is only stupid and dangerous, if you do not know what you are doing, or what your abilities are. Also if you try too much too soon or not checking your environment for loose, broken, slippy or peircing surfaces.
Start off with small jumps and conqueor the ground level first before moving onto bigger and higher obstacles.
The most important advice is get strong first, learn how to land properly.
This is a Awesome video.. very inspirational..I just made my first video ever..I teach Gymnastics and do martial arts..I am recovering from several injuries..but am still training as much as possible..cant do the free running side of things do to my injuries right now, but PK is fine by me for now..why do some people have to bash on other peoples videos, think its cause they feel little inside..lol Train Hard..Train Safe..Peace be the Journey..
i've always wanted to be 3 things... a ninja, a jedi knight and spiderman. parkour makes you all 3!! except you don't spit web from your hands or... use the force...
you know, i find it hard to do this because i am playing goal keep in soccer and my wrists just seize up for a few days after... hard to do parkour when you cant put pressure on your wrists..
Try and give your wrists a rest, and just work on precisions, plyometrics, balancing etc.
When your wrist get better work on stengthening them, by doing lots of quadropedal (catwalking) movements and then you can increase the intensity and intoduce vaults, climbs etc when you feel sronger and better.
Some guys tape their wrists to provide support, but i recomend you rest them and in time strengthen them, if you are in pain for a few weeks go and see a GP.
create obstacles to jump over, jump through and go under.
Use trees, rocks, walls, fences, pavement kerbs, steps etc...
Have a creative vision and improvise with your environment. Also create foot placement courses and try and get from A to B in as less foot steps as possible.
Do you guys trace out what path you are going to take before tackling it? What if you climb up a wall and get to the top only to find that it's another steep drop on the other side!?!
very nice! i like your style. and keep it up during the winter. I know its a rough period... just bear in mind that PK is the greatest activity and philosophy:D Greetz from Switzerland(Bern)
I really like the shot in the middle of this video, it's kind of a fun contrast how the solid structures are being invaded by the versatile people. Very nice. The track fits well too - the video kind of changed my view on it, might be due to the new speakers though or cause I haven't listened to it in a while. Good matc after all. :)

This is a few parkour TRICK not a set of free run. Besides the real traning for parkour are the workouts and cardio.

you don´t show many deep jumps and that´s what I like. Parkour is more as jumping from roof to roof :-)
nice vid.

roof jumping is FAR from what parkour is.

just practice run and jumps at ground level on the grass, and practice your rolls.
Always remember to jump outwards and down and never drop straight down then into a roll.
Learn to roll on the grass both left and side sides as well as backwards.
Practice at mastering the rolls it will become a reflex to more you practice.
Remember to turn the shoulder inwards into the direction you want to roll, you know the rest.

you have to bend your knees with your feet in front of you when you touch the floor to absorb the shock

The one in white touched the ground with hes hands.
It´s not hard to land good. Just jump high, land on your toes and lean back with your knees bend

i wanna try it =D
KatieandIzzyshoww 3 years ago
It is more of a discipline, an art, a way of life, a way to improve your strength, body, mind and spirit.
It is not a sport as you do not compete against anyone, although you do compete with yourself, to improve and perfect.
TraceurZeno 3 years ago
wow your very enlightened, many people fail to realise that this is not somthing you just rush into.
It takes years of practice to learn control and get movements down till they're natural..
I dont even touch wall yet.. i stay on the ground and learn to control momentum and my own weight.
And for someone as tall as me (1.88cm) thats quite hard right.
fishontoast 2 years ago
Good to hear you are training with a sensable head.
Yes get your technique and stength up, and then you can progress at a steady pace.

Tanru2000 3 years ago
Everything is carefully tried and tested. It is executed in the boundaries of my physical and mental experience of my known capability.
I do not leave things to chance or be reckless, as it will result in injury or in extreme situations death.
I train almost every day on my technique, cardio, balance, flexibility and strength almost every day.
I would mentally see a path, physically check it, then execute it.
