  • Hi,

Can any body tell me what is the name of the module that is making actually the thread?

    thanks

  • is 8 cyl Big block attached to this thing, or maybe just a tractor, an old Massey Ferguson turning it.

  • Call me on 9821056113 if you desire to sale the whirling head .

  • It appears as though this operation is being done without the using any coolant. How is that possible, considering the amount of heat generated by the cutting process?

Thanks for posting - fascinating video.

  • @rlewis1946 Well, yes and no: the heat dissipates throughout the whole mass of the rod; the bigger the rod to turn, the less heat remains in the contact (working) area. The smaller the rod, the more it'll heat up. Plus, many inserts are nowadays heat resistant; from the shavings produced in the video it doesn't seem it's chipping deeply, so even less heat generated. I'm just talking from personal experience, not answering from their side. :P

  • @rlewis1946 one word: CARBIDE.

  • let me know if you ever need your lathes ways scraped into precision alignment...good job with the video by the way...
