Well, if Plum Crazy hit you with a rock I bet it was really moving! Those guys were seriously crazy, and seriously fast. I learned quite a bit about engine and suspension talking to them, and they helped me pinpoint an engine problem I was looking for. Real nice guys, fun to have around.
@999torino yeah, that rock was flying, musta been the only injury I got from the competition, lol
I really enjoyed going over to New Brunswick, Canada, they were a lot of fun to race with and would do anything for you if you needed help - always a good time. Seeing how smoothly they ran their races (NB 4x4 Association) inspired us to form the MMBA - getting that started was a good experience as well.
In regards to the added caption of "his throttle probably popped off too" since I was driving I can shed a little light on that. If you watch you will see Lunatic hit a big bump in the track and go airborne several feet. When it hit again, it hit so hard it bent the Dana 44 rear into a banana, and damn near knocked me for a loop- so, yeah, I lifted. As for the guy filming who thinks I warmed the motor up too long, I bet you never ran a motor with aluminum rods? They need oil temp, or else.
@999torino I never would have suspected you would have lifted, I know you better than that. I didn't know what happened except that we both had problems. It was the only time I remember my cable coming off. It may have been team Bruiser filming - always the jokers. That was the weekend Plum Crazy launched a rock from the starting line that hit my hand on my steering wheel and left a lump - pulls up to the line and drives with one hand - lol.
