The Dead said they hated this gig. Garcia, Weir and Lesh were all getting shocks from their guitars not being properly grounded. Also, Jerry said that the amps were picking up radio signals and in some video clips you can even hear it.
Great quality. I heard that Jerry didn't want any of their performance on the Woodstock movie. This isn't that bad of a performance considering they were most likely fried out of their skulls on acid.
Thanks JFrey a fine remaster. Great by the Dead and by Merle Haggard. I'll give my vote to the Dead based on better overall sound (superb playing). Hag might have had the better vocal. Best choice: Hag sings wih the Dead. Woulda, coulda, shoulda been great.
oh man, I LOVE THIS SONG... Merle Haggard classic. I've heard the Dead version many times but to see them perform it at Woodstock is incredible. thanks for posting!
Some one should really post Turn on Your Lovelight from woodstock from the extras DVD from the Boxset, even though it is like 37 minutes it's still very neat.
Holy crap, I've seen it all now! I knew they did some Jones, didn't know they pulled off any Haggard. Saw them in Atlanta in the 80's ;)

majicray2112 3 months ago
@majicray2112 The other thing was their gear wasn't grounded properly. They were getting shocked when they would play. That hurt their performance.
The stuff I have heard from their set, though, sounds pretty good.
