I'm not too sure on that. I went to two different Catholic schools and the students went to Mass every Friday. They have communion and pray to God just like Christians at my church but they also pray to Mary for some reason, I don't know why. I didn't understand a few things they did like doing the sign of the cross over themselves everytime they pass a church, but I do remember them praying to God. If I'm not mistaken I think they prayed to Jesus but they referred to Him as baby Jesus.

Since your God is beyond all this why so engaged in politics? Jesus of Nazareth saved his anger for those who claimed to be spiritual leaders. He never led a movement against Pilate or the Romans. They only killed him because the religious leaders of his day demanded it. IF Jesus of Nazareth was in America today he would be more concerned with child abusing priests and greedy tv preachers than Barack Obama who is a secular leader. betterworld1 you should be engaged in politics but in the context of the historical Jesus he was very frugal and passive and his passion seemed to be on the spiritual lives of people not a movement to control Roman power or government. I think he said his kingdom is not of this world when speaking to Pilate. But modern christians seem to think his kingdom is of this world and they want to force religion in government instead of seeing real change in peoples hearts.

I think it is presumptuous to say that Americas blessing is from christianity. Bad thigns happen to good people all the time. When Jesus was being crucified the spiritual leaders of his day thought that was proof that god was not on his side and so forth. Most of his early followers did not have an easy life either. Be careful with judging blessing through a human lense only. The pagan Roman empire was "blessed" for 500 years with power and glory. It was pagan.

But Obama is a secular leader of a secular government that has a secular constitution. There should be no religion test whether muslim or christian. I'm not too sure on that. I went to two different Catholic schools and the students went to Mass every Friday. They have communion and pray to God just like Christians at my church but they also pray to Mary for some reason, I don't know why. I didn't understand a few things they did like doing the sign of the cross over themselves everytime they pass a church, but I do remember them praying to God. If I'm not mistaken I think they prayed to Jesus but they referred to Him as baby Jesus.

I was in 3rd and 4th grade, I didn't know any better back then but I wouldn't pray to Mary ever again. I wish I could remember if they even had Bibles at Mass. I just know I don't believe in worshiping anything or anyone besides God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

If a Christian kills people at an abortion clinic because he disagrees with killing babies, he is a murderer right along with the people he killed at an abortion clinic.
If a Christian kills, it is MURDER, which is ONE OF THE TEN COMMANDMENTS. It isn't murder when a non-Christian kills and not murder if a Christian kills.
