  • well excellent movie...but wrong detail the movie bring us back in the 50ties maby early 60ties, they did not have the AKG handheldmicrophone as we can see in this scene ;-)

  • Matt Damon plays the character really well in this film- even though I really dislike the character he plays, Matt Damon always acts his parts really well <3

  • xavooooooooooooooooooooooooooo escuchala mariquita

  • LOL!!!! molto bene!!!! Great Song!!!

  • This song kicks ass.

  • Cantan en napolitano. Es una canción napolitana de Renato Carosone. Grande

  • just awesome

  • @euroclassicar A lot of neapolitans (my fam) feel that what's left of napoletano is just cursewords and foul language. :( I think it's a shame. So beautiful... the land of songs.

And yes, a lot of my cousins just sing for fun, the stereotypical napoletani. :D And they are not (and don't tolerate) schifosi camorristi/mafiosi. >.<

  • @euroclassicar

    Many dialects, four language families:

    Italian (based on Florentine dialect)

    Sicilian

Neapolitan (Napoletano... used in this song, OK, Napuleta?)

    Sardinian

From there, hundreds of dialects spoken in Italy PLUS French and German, dialects descending from old Greek, sailor lingo, blah blah blah...)

That said, Neapolitan is dying out. :(

  • @euroclassicar Napoletano!!!!!!

  • They HAD to fuck up this song with a freaking crappy remix?

  • This version was performed by Adriano Celentano

  • @DrQuesito

No, the singer is Rosario Fiorello, the man in the right on the pic.

  • @fellinian you mean left, the man on the right is Jude Law, the actor

  • @Mustang318

    Yes, left in the pic.

  • Muy buena interpretación de la canción de carosone.

  • do you know the title of the song which is listened at their first meeting on the beach;;;;

  • I love the way Fausto says, "DICKKKIIIEE AN' .... TOOOMMM!" at the end. Makes me imagine him muttering, "Stay off boats together!"

  • I love this song too!! Very nice

  • one of my favourite films and one of my favourite scenes!but the song is better by renato carosone but also tonino carotone's version is really nice too

  • bella

  • Esta es una canción napolitana brillante como la gran mayoría de las canciones napolitanas

  • I think this version is better than the new remix

  • @reddragon9988 Way better!

  • me encanta esta cancion!!! alguien me la puede traducir??

i love this song!! can someone translate this song please??

    qualcuno può tradurre questa canzone?grazie

  • @drewmako type on YOUTUBE "SOFIA LOREN "Tu vuò fa l'americano" y "Karina" Show musical", you'll get English song. Sorry, I don't know Spanish translation.

    Best wishes from Russia.

  • @riccisam napulitan and spanish are really similar.

  • @Feanorlike There are storical reason for that...Napoli has been part of the Two Sicily's Reign (Regno delle due Sicilie) and Royal Family was the Borbone..Il Regno delle Due Sicilie was formed by Il Regno di Napoli and Il Regno di Sicilia and the Borbone were part of Spain's Royal Family...Spanish (castellano) was the official language and vulgar (napoletano) was a mix like most of italian dialects

  • @riccisam i know, i know..

  • It's impossible to frown when listening to this song :D

  • one of my faveroute films ever!

  • Jude Law was sooooo hot in this scene.

My favorite scene in the movie.

Matt Damon hardly participated in this song.

  • @jh4everl matt damon wasnt supposed to participate because it was pointing out he didnt ACTUALLY know much about jazz, he was faking it so he just had to blag his way through the song

  • @JxL483

i know he faked it. it's not exactly DIFFICULT to tell.

reason why i mentioned that he "hardly participated" is not because i believe

that he should've sung better but because there are many

people who credit him for singing the song with Jude and Fiorello and i don't think they should because he only contributed a few words.

  • @jh4everl Sorry lol. Thats a fair point about the creditign. Didn realise thats what you meant by it though.

  • this was my favorite part fer some reason lol

  • Troppo fica!

  • Tú quieres vivir a la moda,

pero si bebes "whisky and soda"

    luego te sientes mareado...

    Tú bailas rock and roll

    tú juegas al baseball...

pero el dinero para los Camel

quién te lo da? El bolsito de mamá!?

    quieres hacer el americano

    americano, americano...

  • @lulahx

    sory I wanted to like......

  • @lulahx mm, no. that's obviously not the lyrics.

    it goes like this -

    tu vuoi vivere alla moda

ma se bevi "whisky and soda"

    po' te sente 'e disturbà.

    Tu abballe 'o roccorol

    tu giochi al baseball

    ma 'e solde pe' Camel

    chi te li dà? ...

    La borsetta di mammà

  • @OrianneHeartSeb is the translation into Spanish .... is not the original lyric is in Italian as you say your..pero gracias por la observacion ;)

  • Great movie !!!!!!!!

  • grande fiorello :D

  • Tu vuò fa l' americano!

    mmericano! mmericano

siente a me, chi t' ho fa fa?

    tu vuoi vivere alla moda

ma se bevi whisky and soda

    po' te sente 'e disturbà.

  • me gusta mucho esta cancion

  • muy buena canción!!!

  • I love this song! The movie is awesome as well. And oh well... Jude Law is hot!

  • The name of the singer with Damon and Law is Rosario Fiorello.

  • This film is amazing! And Matt Damon too ;)

  • Well there is a sequel film with Malcovich ...this is a series of books

  • for real?? is there a name?

  • jude law is a good singer

  • I loooooove this :)

    l'Americano!

  • It's my favourite movie! I think it's a masterpiece - from the beginning to the end! Music, scenery, actors - very inspired work indeed!

  • thought i heard ther where going to make a sequel to this movie the talented mr ripley

  • Its not a sequel type movie

  • I agree, a sequel would not work for this movie and would be a BAD idea

  • I think there already is one...Theres three books.

  • One of Sydney's best movies. I miss him

and Anthony so much! This is a great song. Too bad I couldn't find the vid. from the movie!

  • in love with that! JUDE LAW UNDESCRIBLE...(L)

  • One of my all time favorite movies! Such an atmosphere in this scene : )

  • No, it's by Renato Corsone

  • Carosone

  • lol, yeah that's what I meant... Need to self edit...

  • @RAD6150 , COROSONE

  • @RAD6150 CAROSONE!

  • sophia loren

  • I really love this song. Who is it orriginale?

  • On the soundtrack to "The Talented Mr Ripley" "Tu Vuo' Fa l'Americano" is done by The Guy Barker International Quintet, Jude Law, Matt Damon and Fiorello (real name Rosario Tindaro Fiorello).

  • it's from renato carosone...

  • Genial!
