I'm moving to indiana for school in a few weeks, but I can't imagine not coming back to Michigan when I'm done. Not a single part of me wants to raise a family away from the great lakes and the natural beauty of the state. From Luna Pier to the Porcupine Mountains Michigan is home.

Its funny to me that everyone calls where they live home, but if your from MIchigan and live somewhere else, then Michigan is always home. The people of Michigan are some of the nations friendliest.. I to moved to Texas when I was 19 and moved back after my kids were born. I've been back 4 years now and I'm so glad to be home. Sometimes you have to leave here to appreciate it. I'll never leave again.

I really miss it there, but life goes on I lived in the Manistee, Lake County area, but now in N.C. and i love it down here as well. I should really visit there some time. Had to move, there were no job there. I wish it's economy would get better, I'd probably move back. lol

WelshWebb is right, when most people think of us michiganders they think of detroit, or chicago which is near a border. but here up north, it's way more beautiful. i travel alot, and nothing seems more like home as when we return home, and i see the sign that says welcome to hillman, and i know in about 10 minutes i'll be home. anyone would miss it here, and they're crazy if they dont. once a michigander, always

I miss Michigan too. Missouri sucks especially Springfield. Everyone drives slow, they talk slow, they're never in a hurry to get anywhere. The weather is humid and unbearable and there's ticks everywhere.

Agreed, I'm from Macomb Township and have been living in Florida for the past 16 years on and off. Been home to Michigan twice, but couldn't find a job. I miss it! I'm not a fan of winter, however, South Florida sucks in comparison.
