you All SEEM CRAZY TO ME I HATE THE SNOW LIVE HERE BEN ALL OVER IT MOVED 3 TIMES AND CANT WATE TO GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE CAN'T BLIVE THE SONG WAS IT MADE AS A JOKE?
I'm moving to indiana for school in a few weeks, but I can't imagine not coming back to Michigan when I'm done. Not a single part of me wants to raise a family away from the great lakes and the natural beauty of the state. From Luna Pier to the Porcupine Mountains Michigan is home.
I have lived alot of places in my life and have met alot of people. Its funny to me that everyone calls where they live home, but if your from MIchigan and live somewhere else, then Michigan is always home. The people of Michigan are some of the nations friendliest.. I always kick myself for moving out even with this economy.. Iwill always call Michigan my home.. I MISS HOME!!
I was born in Spain, live in Spain, and lived in Michigan for year and half. I went to lots of places Up North. 12 Years since I left Michigan, though I've been on holidays every other year up to 2007, when the economical recession started in Spain. I miss Michigan every single day. That's my home, where my heart is, and if I don't get the chance to move to Michigan I'll die with no heart. It's not were you are from, it's where you feel from ...
I was born in Michigan and was raised pretty much my whole life there my entire family was born there and curenntly I live in Georgia right now bc my parents moved down here but I hate georgia and the south for that matter and my heart belongs in Michigan and I miss it so much but thankfully I will probably be moving back up there in June of this year
I moved here in 2006 and haven't left since but considered how I felt when visiting New York and even more so, Arizona I can understand how you must feel. Standing in the desert I just wanted to be home.
I moved from Bloomfield hills Michigan to Baton Rouge... it is unbelievable how much I miss Michigan! When I was living there I always wanted to move and now that I moved I wish I could go back to Michigan everyday
Great Video, i'm watching it in Germany right now, makin' me homesick, i travel back home to bay city once every other year when i take leave from the army, can't wait to get out and move back home permenantly
I to moved to Texas when I was 19 and moved back to Gaylord, MI after my kids were born. I've been back 4 years now and I'm so glad to be home. Sometimes you have to leave here to appreciate it. I'll never leave again.

True, People always have first thought of Detroit when they here Michigan, well, that and cars :D thus Detroit but, I am Michigan born and raised , live in Coilorado now and I love it here buuuuut , " I Miss Michigan" as well....great video....no place like home is there ?
I really miss it there, but life goes on I lived in the Manistee, Lake County area, but now in N.C. and i love it down here as well. I should really visit there some time. Had to move, there were no job there. I wish it's economy would get better, I'd probably move back. lol
....i know exactly how u feel...i lived in florida for 15 years....was homesick for tennessee 15 years.....about michigan....u should miss....only been twice for 2 wks...a few years ago...omg lake huron was so purty....i only got a glimpse...someday i would like to go a wandering.....so beautiful....i had no clue...it would be so nice.....folks were very nice to me also......
I miss home really bad.. thank you for this video.. i moved out to california because my husband is in the marine corps.. it's nothing like back home.. it's not as great as one would think... I miss a green summer out here it's brown... I can't believe I'm saying this but I miss snow!!!! thank you for this video again
Yeah, Nice video, I miss home , but then again I love living in Colorado alot. However, that being said, Michigan is always HOME and seeing stuff like this, makes ya miss it an awful lot more and wish you were back home near family, friends and that great state, thank for the vid. :D
Omg I know where 1:58 is, ;) We have a cabin about an hour away from there that we go up to every summer; No one ever has heard of it, but its called austrander lake, that our cabin is on....The budweiser horses were by that little shore at 1:58
I love northern Michigan! The beauty is astounding! I love it soooooo much, I cried when I left..I am in Duluth MN now, and it is similar..but so not the same in major ways!!! Michigan will for sure be my future home!
you guys really would miss michigan. i'm here in my room right now in alpena county. WelshWebb is right, when most people think of us michiganders they think of detroit, or chicago which is near a border. but here up north, it's way more beautiful. i travel alot, and nothing seems more like home as when we return home, and i see the sign that says welcome to hillman, and i know in about 10 minutes i'll be home. anyone would miss it here, and they're crazy if they dont. once a michigander, always
WOW EXCELLENT VIDEO im from minnesota and my entire family is from the U.P. of mich..... its one of the most beautifual places ive ever been. we visit up ther a few times a year. it feels like im leaving home when i leave the U.P. and come back to minnesota
@crackergurl22 I have to very respectfully and slightly disagree with you there. Michigan is Detroit but it isn't ONLY Detroit. I think that's probably what you meant. Detroit is just as much Michigan and any other place and is entitled to as much love and loyalty.
@WelshWebb Not to mention our small towns and small cities that feel like small towns. I've been living in Ann Arbor or Ypsi Township for the past six years. It's a very safe place to live. I will probably raise a family in a place like Hamburg.
Michigan's a beautiful state. I've lived here about all my life. The economy is really bad right now, if you have a job you better hold on to it if you can. As much as I like Michigan, I can't stand Detroit. Very depressing place.
I agree with sharonspaintings...I was born and raised in MI and Detroit blows. I lived in the Traverse City area for 8 years and it broke my heart to move back to Detroit...Beulah MI is and always will be my happy place. :-(
i lived in traverse on silver lake road behind meijers in 99-01 . moved away in 01 to biloxi, mississippi. I havent been the same since. i miss michigan. it is and always will be home. beulah/benzonia is a very tranquil place!! love suttons bay too, so pretty.
i was born in detroit, lived in taylor and downriver... i really hate michigan, i can't wait to get out. :) though i must say, this summer has be very nice! dread winter though! arrg, and detroit just blows.
I miss Michigan too. Missouri sucks especially Springfield. Everyone drives slow, they talk slow, they're never in a hurry to get anywhere. The weather is humid and unbearable and there's ticks everywhere.
ok im only 16 but i loved michigan.. I was born i jackson and ive been gone for almost 3 year.. and i still feel like its a part of me.. i live in north carolina now and its not the same
Agreed, I'm from Macomb Township and have been living in Florida for the past 16 years on and off. Been home to Michigan twice, but couldn't find a job. I miss it! I'm not a fan of winter, however, South Florida sucks in comparison.
hey tubeparker23, your right its better to be back home than in florida right now even with the economy. i live in florida right now and cant wait to get back. florida sucks
i left in 2001 for biloxi miss. lived in michigan for 35 years, 10 years in Alpena were the best 10 years of my life, I miss Michigan, theres no place like it. I will be home someday.
I've been gone 6yrs. now and I miss it every day. I moved to Ohio for my wife to be close too her family. It's hard to be gone from michigan the place I still call home. I'm making plans to take us back to visit soon. mom and dad miss the kids. Love the song it brings back alot of happy memories.
I'm making small steps to get back now. I'm moving to Memphis, TN, gonna save some money then move back up. I'm gonna move to the U.P. Jobs are few up there, but no guts no glory. I'd rather be unemployed in Michigan than be employed in Florida.
I've been in florida for the past 5 years. I was born and raised in michigan. michigan runs through my veins. i weep tears of water from her lakes and rivers. i miss the seasons. here in florida, the seasons all blend into each other. but in michigan, each season is clearly defined. i miss you michigan. i wont be happy until i come back.

I can't disagree more. If you are not from the area you are treated like an outsider (except by a few good people). You are IGNORED mercilessly in the work place. Catholicism is the main religion there, yet most Alpenians don't apply it.

Very nice.
Outsiders think "Michigan" and only consider Detroit, for they know nothing of the raw beauty of our forests, lakes and streams.
That's their loss.
For those of you who miss home, it misses you. But remember that Michigan stays in the heart and you'll never lose that no matter where you roam.
