Wow I love that she isn't just playing the piece, she's got such presence that makes Copland's amazing composition that much better. Spectacular job Tammy!!
well played but i think so young people shouldnt play this kind of music, cause theres no feeling in it. the piece should talk about the cat and the mouse.
Tammy is an amazing player indeed for her age, but playing these "too old" pieces don't bring out the best of her abilities. Maybe it's just this video, but the tempo's way too fast and she didn't demonstrate that she fully understood what the composer wanted to bring out. But still, it was a wonderful try.
i agree it is a big achievement. But in all the song isnt really that hard. You just play the same cords up and down. Its just accuracy and speed thats tricky.
Tammy, you have so much grace in your movements, so many colors in your sonorities that I don't care at all for the inaccuracies. I love every note you strike or carress.
I saw this video a few days ago and commented on it, but YouTube seem to have lost my comment. It was only at 1:57 when Tammy has to simplify the right hand chords because of her small hands that I remembered it was a seven-year-old child. The inaccuracies in the playing really don't matter; this is quite an achievement for her and it's notable that she has formed her own original interpretation of the music, showing considerable composure in the slow sections.
Yes, a lot of media fuss has been made of the guy called 'Ben' but I think there are plenty of young pianists on YouTube who can outclass him. At 1:57 Tammy has to simplify the right hand chord because she can't stretch a ninth, and it was only when this happened that I remembered that she was 7 years old! OK, there are some inaccuracies and some problems with the pedal, but what is more significant is that she has formed her own personal 'interpretation' of the piece. It's a big achievement.
i think younger people shouldn't play this because they might not understand the meaning of the piece and what's its all about

whoa a 7 yrs old plays the cat and the mouse. This kid is a real prodigy. I still wonder why that retarded kid Ben is so much more popular.
