@holysab7 it's not a question it's a fact. the very first version of runescape came online in 1998 (little known fact) while asheron came out in november 2 1999.
@Centration thats SOOOOO much older omg jesus runescape is so fucking ancient compared to asheron. ive played both and dislike both, id still be playing runescape if it didnt get completely overhauled... and if i didnt get my shit all hacked...
Looking at this makes me wish I was old enough to understand MMO's when this war around and still popular (I'm not if it's still popular today, although I do wish I could play it) Instead of playing this about a good 8 years back I was playing Diablo 2 LoD : /
@IWishMyNameWasIggins The graphics actually don't look that bad when you compare it to games that were out at that time. I was actually given a copy of this game and never even gave it a chance.
For the time it was AMAZING. I don't mean gameplay, I was just a noob then, but the community was incredible. I love AC it shall stay with me forever. I only wish other MMOs will be as brave as Turbine was
@xazzor32567 you're right, despite the flawless gameplay because it isn't graphically inclined with all the other power houses it shouldn't be around? keep in mind this game is more than ten years old, and graphics aren't everything in a game. I rather play a fun game with decent graphics than a powerhouse with boring gameplay.
The game itself is good times. The graphics are MORE than dated, but the movement system, the interesting terrain/opponents and diverse character creation options have kept people interested.
Keep in mind: given its an older game, takes less of a machine to run it smoothly. Doubt I could even run WoW on this machine; but it ran AC alright.
Yes, I do know how old it is. That doesn't matter though, this isn't 1999 it's 2009. I didn't ask, "people PAID for this" -- I asked "People PAY for this", meaning I have no idea how anyone could still enjoy playing this game.
It is entirely possible that people still enjoy it. I go back to older games that I have played from time to time. Would you pay for doing something you enjoy? There are very few games that come close to the game play that AC had. Uber graphics are not the end all thing that makes a game fun.
Oh it's not all about the graphics, mate, trust me I'd take LoZ:OoT over LoZ:TP any day. And yes, I most certainly go back to old games -- the difference being I paid for those games ONCE, not continuously.
Yes people still pay to play this game. It has a small but loyal fan base. There's nothing crazy about someone who is still willing to pay to play this game. Its still one of the premier PvP MMOs after all these years.
Omg that game scares me indeed, i mean who would play a game which reminds playmobile or lego..... O_O????

The graphics are appalling by today's standards, but back then they must have been considered pretty decent.
