  • What a racket

  • that's epic -3

  • Simply beautiful

  • Love this tune reminds me of my mum scottish and proud often listen in to remind me of her mum i love you god rest

  • I have been lucky enough have seen and heard it live a few times, done by local pipebands, that are no wear near this standard or even Edingburgh Tattoo standards. But regardless of how it is played it is a beautiful piece music especialy when it includes the brass instruments. I too would loved to have been there to witness this. If only I could find a professionaly recorded version of it live on you tube unfortuanatley the Adelaide tattoo is the best close up one I have found.

  • @elouwen Bloody oath. We had this as our wedding song, as I walked down the isle. This version is crap

  • Visit Annan in Scotland for the Riding of the Marches, this is played by massed bands at the evening parade.on the first Saturday in July. It is a truly beautiful piece of music.

  • Spine tingling

  • Magnifico,!!!!

  • Great lyrics!

Lonely the exile oer distant seas.

The home of their birth, gone from their eyes.

Bring back their souls oer the ocean breeze

To the land where their fathers lie.

  • Thanks

  • @Winnie9212 Any idea what year was this?

  • Adelaide Tattoo 2006

  • Seriously, this video just made me cry. I can't think of anything as beautiful and majestic as this just now. Oh how I wish I could have been there to witness this song live

  • Try it with a pipe organ in a church. AWESOME!

  • Awesome!

  • At 1 : 30.......A rolling thunder !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

    Pure Goosebumps

Thank you so much for this tune

    Amazing

    greetz from germany

  • brilliant, very well played

  • i just played this song yesterday at my school's Cultural extravaganza thing ...loved it...totally, sounds so much nicer with the orchestra...

  • Wonderful stuff! Constantly amazes me the power of this instrument. It can stir the emotions and bring shivers down the spine even when listening on line. If you are lucky enough to hear massed pipe bands in a Tattoo it is overpowering.

    Visit the Edinburgh Tattoo and hear the real thing. {I am not paid by the Tattoo to promote them - just a fan of Pipe music.}

  • How can you claim that the Scots came from Ireland you idiot. A small percentage of Irish settled in Southern Scotland whereas the rest were original Scots also named as the Picts.

Enough with your Irish shite Mr Deluded. Are you trying to tell me the Irish were original people and never came from another country? SHITE!

  • While listning this song tears welled up...

This remembers me all the lost soldiers who set Europe free..

Land of my fathers, we will always be

Faithful and loyal to our own country.

In times of danger we will set you free,

Lead you to glory and to victory.

    True words...snik!

  • Scots own the bagpipes, and please remember that the bag pipes are not Celtic, they're Scottish.

There's a difference between Celtic and Scottish.

  • How can you get that mixed up anyways? lol

  • scots dont own the bagpipes. the scottish migrated to scotland from ireland, ireland also has it own pipes, Uilleann. "bagpipes" are worldwide, but scottish pipes are probly the best known. and my personal favorite.

  • can you post the words to what they are sing ? it is hard to understand what they are saying. What is the name of this piece

  • Highland Cathedral (Ben Kelly 1990)

Land of my fathers, we will always be

Faithful and loyal to our own country.

In times of danger we will set you free,

Lead you to glory and to victory.

  • Boy! Im French, and loves Celtic music and China...

And this performance draws tears from my eyes, knowing that it was written by Germans ... and performed on the day the UK gave over Hong Kong back to China, as Chris Patten, the last British governor of HK loved this tune...

The performance, I mean this performance, is tremendous

  • Amazing, written by a German, adopted by the Scots, makes me proud to hear that tune.

  • What a powerful song!!!!! congrats to all musicians!!
