6 years ago we were at a stream really on a clay stubble field when it rained hard at the end of the day ended up pulling the steam engines dead off the field cos they could not get traction also pulled a 40ft artic off a field was a awsome play toy really miss it blipping the throttle on the perkie 6 cyl mmmmm
I bought myself a pile of rust that vaguely looks like this tractor. I hope the replacement engine works out (ex lorry engine NA going in). The engine was flooded by rainwater when I got it so it'sseized sollid. I hope the gearbox is ok as the early ones had a real hard time coping with the power. Mine being the 8th tractor of the line it can't get any earlier....
I will be uprating the drive from the engine to the clutch as on the 1250. I'll be making adaptors to fit a propshaft.
Right, mine turns out not to be the 8th tractor off the line. it's the 19Th built 1974. Serial numbers before that are a real mess hence they are not usualy documented.
At this time I am rebuilding the engine for the most part as the replacement engine I got for it despite being a good runner turned out to have a time-bomb in it. One if the liners was in-route down south if you know what I mean...
@massey2720 Three of the tyres on this one have cracked sidewalls that got worse after this bit of ploughing :). The hydraulics lifted the plough well enough. but we did have to change all of the fluids before she was given any work.
Ive not been able to find any yet. you could look at getting some from a company that does self adhesive signwriting. Although it may be hard to get them exactly the same.?
@willnandrea If you are still looking for decals for your 1200, Dunlop tractor spares in Northern Ireland do a really good set. Check out my vids, cheers
This one had been sat for about 4 years when it was bought. It had been used for forestry work although not for long. It's going to be repainted after all the little bodges :) have been put right, and its mechanically sorted.
your tractor has hydraulic system with depth and sensitivity to follow the undulations of the land?

this one is now having the drive pulleys, clutch bearings and shaft done as they were found to be very badly worn almost to the point of failliure.

The plough is a Lemkin Four furrow Reversible, pulled it with no problems would pull even better with a better set of tyres. :)

@mase12001 lovely job, my one has got set of tires about 95% and a turbo so should pull alright, whats it like lifting the plough?
