@markadiculous i own a viking and compaired to mine, the es335 models i played weren't half as good, so be careful what you say about an instrument. maybe your model sucked, but the guitar and construction is great. maybe needs new pickups though
I liked your review. I would like to know what you think about the Epiphone Sheraton II, or the Ibanez AS-93 compared to your Hagstrom Viking. Any info you could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
@gbargy1 I studied numerous semi-hollow style guitars for months, playing as many as possible in the store: Epi, Ibanez, Washburn, Gretsch. The Hagstrom was by far the best. Effortless to play, amazing sustain, terrific fit and finish, solid electronics. And they look cool as hell (I'm more of a 'different is better' guy.)
That said, I've swapped the Tune-o-matic for a Gotoh (better clarity), and will likely swap the tuners and pickups. It's great right out of the box though.

You are a weenie for your negative comments about the guitar. I honestly don't believe you. Were you paid to put in that?

What amp are you using? Fender, I guess, but which model?

The Vikings are actually not made by CNC at all. The sides, top and back are produced by press molds, and are actually completely hand made.

@junkattackjunk
snakecraig here...
I'm talking about the reissue as well.
These are pretty well made in the same fashion as an acoustic guitar. The sides are shaped using press molds and the tops are pressed and arched.
