Still, you're right there's a lotta hypocrisy and bullshit that I completely disagree with. The "official" exclusion of gays, not letting women be priests, covering up molestations, abortion, sex before marriage, und so weiter...I 'spose that would be a reason to protest. I guess the point I'm trying to make is, while the people you caught on camera were dipshits- try to remember that for lot of us (God or no God) the Church is a also a community for people trying to be decent human beings.

Also if you were to tally the number of molestations that go on in the Catholic Church and compare that with those that go on in ALL Protestant Churches combined- there's molestations that go on in the Protestant Churches.

Believe it or not, democracy, it's not like in Scientology were you're forced to toe the line or you're sec-checked. There's even some nuns that refuse to go to Mass, because women are not allowed to be priestesses. There's "confession" but that's a sacrament that I haven't partaken in since 5th grade at St. Louise Catholic elementary in Bellevue, Wa. And noone's pressured me into it either. BTW- 7 years of Catholic school-NEVER MOLESTED!

There's an Evangelical church down the street that does the same thing but you can't get 'services' unless you go to a 'service.' We're more into giving w/o asking for anything in return. You don't have to be Catholic or get 'evangelized.'

Being "culturally" Catholic I'm kinda conflicted. It really depends on the parish, some are more conservative than others. My parish has tons of Gays that come to Mass and do volunteer work- nobody talks shit on them. Also, I can't speak for that particular parish but money that gets donated at mine goes to feeding, and clothing the poor and doing light social work, like getting people vouchers for medication and stuff.
