One of the "demos of my memories" :) I were a total gamerboy while I say this in assembly and I looked at it like :O... One of the reasons why I still have daydreams of learning to code a demo.. even a little one :D
When actually executed as a binary the program runs smooth, the video lags.
That said, this demo is simply the best ever.
Not because it is technically superior to anything else, but because it captures the spirit and whole atmosphere of the demoscene and of being a programmer in general.
The way the girl seems to get lost in "deep hack mode" and she writes-as-fast-as-she-can-think is beautifully depicted and difficult to put into words, but this demo manages it.
Oh wow... that still gives me the chills every time I watch it... I too went from my venerable old Commie 64 to the Amiga 500... to the PC...
This was shown on the Big Screen at assembly '04... I can only imagine the huge WHOOP that rose from the crowd as that Amiga bouncing ball started doing it's thing...
@sacreleases Yeah, right. None were CODED by a girl that looked pretty. However, on the graphics art side we should not forget about Mermaid, should we? :) I think she must not be called "ugly".
This cursor shouldn't be after that PRESS PLAY ON TAPE order.
C64, A500 and PC.

Ofcourse in reality very few demos were coded in BASIC or C.

and none were coded by a girl that actually looked somewhat pretty as far as I can remember :)

There was a joke group called Uggadunk and they had a female member that was quite hot as far as I recall.

hah, true :D
nowadays we're getting quite a lot better turn-up in the girl quadrant, mostly as gfx artists though... But the scene is not what it used to be. :<

I am not unhappy about this change though.. at least are the girls not so much into FPS and MMORPG games :)
