Are those carts attached (attachable to the track)? The one that I used in the past was a plastic wheeled cart on a small "half pipe" made of concrete and plastic (it was very possible to fall off the sides at curves). After you get to the bottom, the carts are attached to the bottoms of the lift seats that take people to the top of the mountain.
@ff2paladin - the carts on this ride are attached to the rails so they cannot derail on the way down. I have ridden attractions of the sort you describe...they can be pretty wild in the wet!
@thelazycomic - There are a few exceptions in the US, but not many. Fortunately in mainland Europe they take a more "adult" approach in that people take responsibility for their own health & safety and don't sue anybody because of something they did wrong themselves. Sadly the UK where I live has become just like USA as a result from the "no win no fee" sue anyone culture :-(
Love your video's, next best to actually doing the ride myself (which won't happen anytime soon if at all I am afraid) Thanks so much for recording and posting these rides
This is indeed a great ride. In summer it actually makes sense to wear eye protection because of all the flies and bugs in the woods. At 1:16 is the best part though :D
@damagedone25 - yes...they allow a gap between riders so it doesn't get too congested, but you can catch up riders if they are slower, for example if they use the brakes, or if one person is riding by themselves (these cars can take two riders, which means more weight, so faster)
@DIECASTER - I recall that the trains are returned to the top via a separate chairlift. I believe there is ski-ing in the winter. Details of the resort can be found on their website w w w .imster-bergbahnen.at/en/summer/alpine-coaster-imst/facts.html
4. Hoch Imst, that's the name of the skiing area, it’s a quite small skiing area. For the summer it's fine, there's also a forest pool where you can go swimming (the water is quite cold ^^). But in the winter I would recommend you to visit Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis, which is a really great and big skiing area.
3. That depends on your age and ticket you choose.
There are actually two tickets, one only for the ride and one for the ride and the promotion to the top. A ticket for adults costs € 6,30 without the promotion and € 10,50 with it.
@DIECASTER Well, I life 6 miles away from this thing, so I'll answer you your questions.
1. There's an extra lift for them, do you see the steal loop at the top of the rider, that's for the transport. It gets suspended into a steel bracket and then transported to top.
KEWL RIDE.
thank you for decent language throughout

Wow, you have the freedom to use a camera, while actually on the ride? We're forbidden here in the Untied States. NO CAMERAS.

WOW, very cool. I have a few questions I hope you can answer.
1. How do they get those cars back up the hill?
2. Are the cable cars for this ride only, or is it for skiing as well?
3. How much do they charge for that ride?
4. What other activities do they have?
If you could answer these questions I would be very grateful to you, thank-you. ^_^
