  • Love love love The Cure....Best band on this planet or any other....

  • COME BACK BORIS

  • hmmm... my husband is a drummer, for almost 25 years now. he learned the drums by skipping dances and functions to rehearse to their records. it's such a shame.. and BTW. i now know many industry people through him, including people that know and work for the Cure. what i have heard was that Robert hired Jason because he was exactly the opposite of what Cure fans would expect. so we all have rich, fat, lazy Robert to thank for this. what a turd. they no longer hold a place in our hearts. shame..

  • Someone stole this from me 17 years ago......OMG, I STILL remember every single note......I LOVE ROBERT SMITH!

  • Wow! The intro music (first minute and a half) is by The Glove, i.e. Robert's project with Steve Severin. Interesting...

  • I have this concert in Laserdisc... Its fantastic..

  • I saw The cure in kissing tour at Florence,

    in 30 november 1987.

when played the drowning man i cried for the emotion, there was roger o'donnell and lol tholurst, porl, simon, boris and robert. OH...I'M VERY SAD FOR THE TIME SLIPPING AWAY.

  • Thanx for this...Long time agao I was in a galaxy far away..hahaha...Meaning now am as old as Bob nearly....LUV The Cure..seen them many times...Amazing..THANKZ

  • We all miss BORIS WILLIAMS on drums!

  • I was there ! Just a think to Benoit my friend for always...

  • I want that wig!!!!!!!!

  • What a song to open up with!

  • best

  • You can hear "relax" from the glove as intro in the background. Until today i`m quite sure it`s a derivate of "give me it" from The Top album or otherwise.

  • lol at first it Robert seems to look like always but suddenly Simon grabbed and threw his hair, which turned out to be a wig, away. priceless!

    The Cure are genius!

and they had their best line-up on this concert, that's why in my opinion this concert is perfect!

Robert and Simon - you rock!

  • Welcome in the dark...!

  • my favorite 0:57 HAHAHAHAHA

  • i miss lol tolhurst, he's a hero

  • I love how everyone has the big hair and stuff (the trademark) except the one who kinda is famous for it -> Robert Smith.

He's great! And Simon too, like the second Robert (I know hes unique actually), he and Robert had first the big hair and they are both the longest member (well Robert is even longer as Simon had quit the band from mid-late1982-1984

  • 6:33 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • shake dog....shake!!

what a great time for music...

  • Grande The Cure, grande Robert csm!!!! uno de los mejores conciertos a mi parecer y con la mejor formacion que tuvo The Cure, no me canso de ver est concierto...seguimos sperando que vengan a Peru

  • and the hair just flew away! somebody, quick, write a book about it!i would buy it. seriously.

  • Totally agree! The new Cure drummer is really bad that sucks and ruins all of the good past classic songs. It's annoying hearing and watching him play, he looks shy and insecure.

The former drummer was 10000% better and looked great too. He IS The Cure drummer.

  • Your both being thick. Agreed, Jason isn't the best drummer they've had but accusing him of having no musical taste while being in the cure? Eh, somethings wrong with that statement.

And as for not making a decent album in 16 years? It's still fucking better then anything else in the music world nowadays.

  • The Cure defies any music label. They or their music cannot be categorised. I mean how many artists/bands you know of, irrespective of any musical genre, have written songs about animals and insects such as cats, dogs, pigs, vultures, crows, caterpillars, snakes, tigers, monkeys, fishes, etc. with such conviction and wit? Besides, all of this is usually mixed with infectiously unpredictable melodies and snappy rhythms!

  • you can hear the Glove being played when their walking on stage! This is my favourite Cure line-up. No disrepect to Jason the new drummer, but Boris was the man. the best for the Cure in my opinion. Robert And Simon are a must ofcourse. I am just giddy with memories watching this.. great transfer quality. better than my worn vhs tape thats about to be retired with the other 3):

  • ye! I was sure I could hear the glove too- I think its "relax"

  • ..and it was grweat because they were 'big' from Head on the Door but that'sd about it and I was so excited to find them...ah, over 20 years ago!

  • I remember seeing this in the theater in boston when it premiered.

  • my buddy just converted my VHS to DVD & it turned out great. very pleased.

  • sold the vhs... regretting that

  • I still have this VHS, i'm stoked I can watch this on my ipod

  • haha simon pulled off roberts wig xD I lovvvvveeee simon even now hes yummy yummy yummy xD he should have the lion hair again!!

  • i kw simon has ttly aged gracefully his hair ws better before though robert still looks the best of everyone lol simon you hooligan!!

  • the cure are the best band in he universe!!!!!

  • Look at simon, he is brave as a lion, he's got that lion type hair that makes him to more like a hero!

  • Robert Smith is the Master!

  • International Flip the Bird Day July 21 2008 People Revolution Silent Protest. flippedthebird . com Contest $30K cash prizes!

  • j'y ètais !!!! wonderful !!!!

  • veinard!

  • Punk? No. Been a fan of theirs for over 20 years, been to a lot of tours, didn't see punks there...sorry!

  • Robert Smith is delicious and so is that dude that pulled of his wig. Everyone says they were goth but they were definitely punk.

  • the dude is simon gallup

  • They were (,,are" as well) nor goth neither punk, they are The Cure :)

  • Shake dog shake. The best song on "The top"

  • The top is their best album IMO. Piggy in the Mirror, Shake dog Shake, Dressing up....awesome songs.

My all time fav song though would have to be "Push" from In Between Days.

  • not on dvd not yet we got to ask ask ask them for it

  • this is true cure!

  • you have dvd this concert, I look long time

  • YAY :)

  • Excellent

  • I miss seeing this video. I used to own it on vhs back in the day. The Cure is one of the grearest bands of all time. I never categorized the cure as goth, because that is such a lame term. They were just being themselves and nobody can even compare to them.

  • weird i'd have thought his goth look started earlier than The Top! it seems to change my vision of them in my mind. i mean, the top is a pretty dramatically fucked up album.

and wtf was that simon or someone pulled off robert's head and threw away at the start... a wig..??? hahaha!

  • This show was actually filmed between 'The Head on the Door' and 'Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me', and not in the era of 'The Top'. ;0)

I'm not sure RS was ever truly goth, but he was looking pretty dark/new wave from the get-go back in the late '70s.

  • i always fort simon wer more phwoar.:0) wikd.just fkn wikd

  • Ey ?

  • omg i love this movie so much, i had to have rented this movie from blockbuster over a thousand times as a kid, robert smith was the whole reason why i wanted to get a ear ring when as a kid

Wake up in the dark . . .

  • Excellent ! Thanks, Hitlerhiccup.

Can you please post Sinking and A Night Like This

    from the same concert ?

  • Does anyone know if this is available on DVD yet? Or if it ever will be? I can't find it online or anywhere else and I really want it on disc.

  • I have it on LD and recently xferred to 2 DVDs =)

  • F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C-O !!!

really funny as simon takes robert's wig off and throws it into the crowd... i wished they would finally release this concert on dvd...

  • que bien, exelente!

  • yeah! the cure in orange es un exelente concierto! aunque el sonido suena bastante sofisticado, incluso en canciones como shake dog shake, cuando deveria ser mas alocado y pesado...

  • ya creo ke suena exelente!!!!

    saludos!
