Your symptoms match that of hypothyroidism/hashimoto's syndrome. It may be worth your time to research these. If you have your doctor check your thyroid, make sure he checks TSH, T3, T4, etc not just the TSH like most doctors do. Best of luck to you!!
Thank-you so much LadyInfinity33, I'm inspired by your determination and by how public-spirited you are.
1- can you get methylcobalamin? May I sugggest this is more likely to help than cynocobalamin or hydroxocobalamin
2- if you need that quantity of B12, you should probably get I.V. infusions of 10mg - 1g (1000mg) per day; it's safe, the dose for smoke inhalation (cyanide poisoning) is 5g (5000mg)
3- do you need Vitamin D and cortisol as well to get the tissues to use B12 better?
I am up to 4 injections a DAY. I have quadreplegia and demyelination of my spinal cord from this deficientcy. I advocate all over my state about this disease. I am the current Ms. Wheelchair Alabma. I am working diligently to get the awareness out there.
I have been getting the fuzzy lips lately which has lead me to this video. I already have drop foot nerve damage so this is making sense. The nerves in my arms are also hurting so need to get the doctor in line pretty fast!
I'm really glad people are starting to realize this is a real disease, I have pernicious anemia (the CNR type) and it can be really painful sometimes, there are still people who are ignorant about it and say things like "boo hoo, eat a cheeseburger" but they don't realize how it's so much more than that, so thank you everyone who is raising awareness about this.
@HugieBugie The Kuzminski study concluded - "In cobalamin deficiency, 2 mg of cyanocobalamin administered orally on a daily basis was as effective as 1 mg administered intramuscularly on a monthly basis and may be superior." Pubmed - 9694707.
Wikipedia article - vitamin B12 deficiency - has links to 2 clinical trials at the end of the article. Number 31 and 32.
There are many oral B12 sprays on the market. If you are using Amazon, type - vitamin B12 spray - into the search bar. :)
I have juvenile autoimmune pernicious anaemia and diagnosed myself at age 35, but have had symptoms for decades. I researched and trials other methods as i was not happy with B12 injections and i have found oral B12 spray, under the tongue - absorbs into the blood stream in 20 seconds, is the most effective and keeps vitamin B12 levels up daily. The oral form is now shown to be equivalent, and in my opinion better, than vitamin B12 injections. Pain free as well. :)
Does anyone else B12 deficiency make them smell bad? I have read that this us a sympton....one if mine's. MY CURSE!
