TOTALLY makes sense about Eno influencing Bad, I can see the dynamic similar to Plateau of Mirror in repeating the same notes but in a very melodic sensibillity. Too cool!
As a former musician that bit about the spark being a gift from God, but staying out of your own way while losing yourself into the music is utterly brilliant. "And if you bump up against God in the corridor-nice one!". I think a lot of us feel that way without having expressed it so well! Just brilliant...

They are so full of shit. Acrobat, just like Even Better Than The Real Thing, The Fly, and Ultraviolet were all spawned from the song, Lady With The Spinning Head. The timing is the same on all of them. They try too hard to sound professional. When it comes down to it, they just record what hit's them. There is no rhyme or reason. It's experimentation. They were not sitting around thinking "How can I turn a dirty shoegaze song into a traditional Irish song.

Every Step, the band gets better? The last great album they had was Pop. Since then, they stopped experimenting. U2 used to innovate. Now they emulate They are trying too hard to keep up with the times. Trying too hard to be current. They lost their edge, No pun intended.

Well, I used to say the same: "Pop was their last good album". But now I say All that you can leave behind (ATYCLB) is their last good album and to be specific I mean that the sound of ATYCLB is very bad: it´s like a big marshmallow! It´s too soft, too sugared and too radio pop-ish. Yuck! The main songs are very good but the sound destroys the album.
I can't wait for U2's next album. I'm so glad Brian Eno, and Daniel Lanois are on board for this one. There's been treasure on every album U2 has ever made.
My songs would be walk to the water,,Drowning man,,a man and woman,,rejoice,,two shots of happy one shot of sad,,and more..These guys are the reason why i'm alive and the reason why i love...Thanks..cbono..
