I believe the entire concept is "electric inertia" making objects with a special resonance act like both poles in a high frequency AC- emission. I LOVE you and your oscilloscope!

i have found that connecting the recieving side to large metal objects helps by creating capacitance.

I am using ignition coil with 12V and i have like a dog bowl that simply sits on the High Voltage wire, is i hook the dog bowl up to a CFL it will light with one wire. And the dog bowl is not physically connected to the HV wire, just sitting on or near it.

the strikes were about 10 to 30 miles from where i came from till when i got home, the effect was instant and the waves were like backwards! possibly this is the effect his cosecant equation showed! its quite amazing.

your utilization of radiant energy setup looks like a big antenna for a crystal radio. (radio that uses no power other than ''radio'' waves)

Of course they produce spikes, it's millions of volts jumping through air, spraying electromagnetic waves everywhere! No "earth currents" are involved. And yes, it does support wireless energy transfer, just like your radio does. But think about this: if the lightning bolt is radiating energy in every direction, and you are a mile away with a relatively small antenna, how much of that useful energy are you getting? If I understand correctly, you are transmitting energy in the form of an electric field. It's sort of hard to tell with all the small and tangled wires. There's nothing magical about that. It's how shopping malls know if you're stealing something. The problem is, most of that energy is being dissapated uselessly into space. Your pie pan is only picking up a little bit of it. Therefore, yes, it is wireless transmission, but it also has abysmal efficiency.

yo killer doug! i haven been able to further excite the coil enough for an improvement mainly because of the ground fault inside the transformer,its such a hold back, once the gfi sense to much current/voltage drain it turns the transformer off. dont worry im working on a similar set up with "newer technology" lol. i was able to light a compact florecent bulb, not as strong as the socket but it was lighting up!.

You know that cool waveform you are getting on your oscilloscope could be reflections bouncing back and forth due to impedance mismatching. Whenever you don't match impedances (resistances in AC form), you can get time delayed (and amplitude reduced) instances of the same wave arriving at the scope. It would be interesting if you could measure the time between the peaks (use the cursors on the oscilloscope) and then calculate distance.

PART 2: (speed of light * time difference) I wouldn't be surprised if the distance you calculate in in fact the distance the reflection is traveling (twice the probe wire length, or perhaps twice the wiring length of your system).

Yes the Earth serves as a one wire so you do not need any wire. You must think of this system as some water pipe. If you occilate the water faster(higher frequency) and with more stress(higher voltages) then the energy get higher. Further the Capacitor or matel plates surves as some water tank where you can ocilate water between two tanks. Tesla did not used AC or DC anymore. He used pulses of smaller than 10µsec or even less and very high voltages. Then you spark that threw carbon spark.

The spark should be quenched by some magnet also. you can catch that cold electricity by a cage that does not touch the circuits. By that you can creat 100 times more power. Just curious, I have to be out and about driving for my job, and sometimes I end up in areas with no cell phone service. besides maybe satellite or something that needs line of sight, is there something you can do to apply this wireless technology to communication. Could you use the earth/ground as a conductor? That way, we will technecally never be out of range or in a dead zone?

no it is diffrent this is a tesla coil whois secondary is connected to anothers secondary. the one your talking about is if you take insulated metal and raise it in the air. static discharge in the atmosphere will build up in the plates. and want to flow to the ground. then you put a high voltage capacitor in between,the ground and the plates the energy will store in the capacitor.then you hook up the plate side as + and the ground as -. then you can use as much energy as stored in the caps.

this is a tesla coil. with its secondary hooked to anothers. the one your speaking of is.Insulated plates suspended in the air.they gather static/cosmic energy.and a high voltage capacitor is then hooked up in between the plates an the ground.then the energy stores in the cap.then you hook up the ground side of the capacitor to - and the plate side of it to +.ten feet of the ground =about 100v I guess.let me know if you need any of tesla's old patents and I will get you a copy.
