Just out of interest, Martin, I was wondering whether I could get an opinion from one of my favourite slide guitarists on this particular issue; do you prefer roundneck or squareneck dobros for playing lap slide?
Im getting to really like that instrument lately. I know nothing bout it, but it seems that some of theese wooden dobros got all that warmth and depth to the tone that most metal ones lack. This one sounds real nice, and good playing too !
thank you sir! I have been using a stevens bar since i started playing four years ago, i find it to be very clumsy and heavy! I feel like its holding me back a lil! Do you recomend a scheerhorn or or is that just wat u like??
I recomend using a steel bar that has the shape of a Scheerhorn steel. It does not have to be a Scheerhorn. There is the Tipton, the E.G. Smith and others that have that special shape with the sharp edges for nice powefull pull off´s.
Martin, this angle is really good for seeing how you use your picks to dampen the strings. I've learned a lot just watching your videos, thanks. Beautiful music.
Jeez, this is so good!

@Vanguard448
I prefer square neck instruments. I am always afraid to damage the neck when raising the string action on a round neck instrument.

Love this song and love it on the dobro, and you play beautifully. Thanks so much for sharing. Gwen

That is a Meredith Resonator Guitar. The wood (rosewood spruce top) is the same as Rob Ickes`s Scheerhorn.
