  • Jeez, this is so good!

  • Your pick-block technique is amazing, clean as a whistle!!

  • Awesome dobro work!

  • that dobro seems to have a warmer sound than most

  • Nice tune this, is there no words to it ?

  • i want to learn dobro. are there any good dobros in the price range of like $400-$500 or less?

  • That sounds really good

  • Awesome my friend.......

  • Just out of interest, Martin, I was wondering whether I could get an opinion from one of my favourite slide guitarists on this particular issue; do you prefer roundneck or squareneck dobros for playing lap slide?

    Thanks.

  • @Vanguard448

I prefer square neck instruments. I am always afraid to damage the neck when raising the string action on a round neck instrument.

  • Love this song and love it on the dobro, and you play beautifully. Thanks so much for sharing. Gwen

  • Im getting to really like that instrument lately. I know nothing bout it, but it seems that some of theese wooden dobros got all that warmth and depth to the tone that most metal ones lack. This one sounds real nice, and good playing too !

  • this version of Whiskey Before Breakfast is my favorite.

  • excellent

  • That was a smooth and cool tune...makes me want to work with the slide...really well done!

  • I love this one - you do it well on the dobro. I'm trying to learn it on the banjo. Gwen

  • I just want to say thanks for such wonderful Videos, I love listening and playing along with them.

  • Fantastic! Your playing is wonderful and your intonation is excellent. Thanks for posting this!

  • Great pickin on an old fiddle tune

  • Spielt Sigi Schwab nicht auch so eine?

  • Is that a rob ickes model dobro

  • That is a Meredith Resonator Guitar. The wood (rosewood spruce top) is the same as Rob Ickes`s Scheerhorn.

  • You are truly brilliant!

  • excuse me sir what kind of bar do you use

  • It´s a Scheerhorn chrome plated steel bar

  • thank you sir! I have been using a stevens bar since i started playing four years ago, i find it to be very clumsy and heavy! I feel like its holding me back a lil! Do you recomend a scheerhorn or or is that just wat u like??

  • I recomend using a steel bar that has the shape of a Scheerhorn steel. It does not have to be a Scheerhorn. There is the Tipton, the E.G. Smith and others that have that special shape with the sharp edges for nice powefull pull off´s.

  • thank u sir for your time

  • How do you feel about the wood top GS Shubb? Is there a reason I shouldn't use it?

  • Oh, I LOVE this rendition of that piece of music! great job!

  • Super! TR

  • DBGDBG high to low

  • great music

  • What tuning ?

  • are you in standard dobro tuning or open D? i cant figure it out!

  • Standard G tuning but the song is played in the key of D

  • Surrender your tabs or face total annihilation!

  • Just amazing i am just starting out on dobro but i have played the uitar for 8 years

  • your to good

  • I really loved that. What a nice sound.

  • absolutely top class can't stop listening

  • Just wonderful, great sound!!!

  • That Was Fantastic !

  • G'day Martin, Excellent as usual. Love that number & you certainly do it justice.

    More more more! please.

  • ouahhhh!!!!

  • Martin, this angle is really good for seeing how you use your picks to dampen the strings. I've learned a lot just watching your videos, thanks. Beautiful music.

  • Wow.... I am always amazed at your timing and tone. You are an inspiration to all us aspiring dobro pickers. Thanks for another fine song.

  • awesome job. keep up the good work.

  • I learned to play that tune from Rob Ickes when he was teaching the Dobro class at Sore Fingers in England 07.
