Awesome video. It's great to see some commentary on talent choices from an advanced tank. Do you have any videos on the tanking mechanics you use, like rotations and stat/gear preferences?
@RedGhost1990 Theres actually a surprising amount of dps in the darkness tree, due to 30% increased force regen, and a guaranteed shock crit every 3rd move or so. I was a hybrid spec for a while, but the problem was people kept getting mad at me for either not main tanking or taking threat off the main tank. But my dps was pretty killer.
@RedGhost1990 I find it's one or the other with Assassins, though tank assassins do a lot of damage. Try going a different class if you want to do a hybrid; Powertechs seem a good choice.
Hmm interesting.. just as a question why would you chose 3% endurance. After going through the math even at 15000 health you would only get an extra 450 hp. Wouldnt an extra 3%dmg on thrash and 5 more secs reduced cd on force speed be better?
@SWTORAmaya That's a good point. It honestly might be better to do with more damage. I will have to do some more experimentation. I currently have 20K health unbuffed in PVE gear.
Don't forget that it buffs an actual stat by percentage, so it scales. If it offered a flat health increase, I would readily agree. However, since it offers a percentage, it starts to scale. Every upgrade of your Endurance stat will benefit from this one talent, making it very cost efficient in terms of points, so much that as you get higher end gear, the total bonus from it will almost act as a free piece of Endurance gear.
Really informative recording. Thank you, man; Much appreciated. I'm a heck of a lot more confident now, and you really did a great job of effectively transmitting which skills you're explaining + what they do. Not always so easy to follow when folks attempt a video as such. Thanks a lot!
This was perfect for me, I really wanted to tank (and still do tons of damage) as an Inquisitor but was not sure which abilities were really useful. Now I'm acually excited about starting my SI. Thanks for the great vid and for leaving a message on my profile (I wouldn't have seen this otherwise)!
Nice video, surprised so many went with the assasin over the juggernaught for their tank. I'm curious to see how it plays out in raiding. None the less well made video and you explained your talent choices well.
Thankyou for making this video! This is the first piece of information that I have found which was actually helpful in tanking as a Sith Assassin. Can you suggest any other media/websites/forums which may be helpful with rotations/priorities, gear, and/or companion(s) and their benefits for PvE? I'm still a baby SA, lvl 12. But really want to learn more.
@jorsysting I am actually going to be making a video about rotations, priorities, gear and what not. I don't really know of any websites that I would recommend.
@henhz I don't do much too much burst dmg as compared to others. I can however stay fighting longer so I tend to be more defensive. I use my taunt whenever I can, I put guard on my allies to keep them alive, interrupt healers and just try to be useful.
if ur tanking as an assassin, do u even use stealth?

Stupid question: how did you zoom out so much? My max zoom out is like 1/3rd of yours

I saw an video about you explaining the tanking rotation. But could you also explain the rotation for AOE tanking. Like for tanking more mobs?

@hairytoothgaming Hey whats better for DPS on an assassin deception or madness?
fatdudefoshizzle 1 month ago
Is there a way to remain DPS but actually not take alot of Damage like a Hybrid DPS/Tank Spec?
RedGhost1990 1 month ago
@RedGhost1990 Not sure really. You could try running with DPS gear but speccing far into the tanking tree.

@SilentRisings Thanks. I find assassin tanking quite fun. We'll have to see how far my guild can get with myself being the main tank.

would you say this is more of a pve build? do you pvp? also, do you think bioware will eventually bring in dual tree specialization? like in wow?
henhz 1 month ago
@henhz To be honest I find this a very balanced build for pve and pvp but mostly geared towards pve. I hope they do bring in a dual spec.
