Someday those who have engaged in Treason will be swinging like a dope on a rope. O'Reilly deserves to hang. He is such an obviously closeted smegmite.
Bill O'Reilly is a phucking fraud and LIAR. This guy is following the same script as Joseph Goebbels. Guy is an obvious douchebag who deserves to have his lights punched out.
Shocking.. shocking.. how can a guest on a show be so shamefully shouted down by the host.. isn't the idea that they are there to say their piece??.. this is censorship...
@DRABSOLUTETRUTH WOW what an ABSOLUTE moron you are DICKTRUTH...srsly do you think any sane human would read your ignorant brain dead comments and not conclude that you're a Repiglicking asshole...pull your head outta your ass long enough to get some oxygen to your deficient brain cuz you are obviously a mentally retarded moron...may the sweet holy jeebus fuck you with Bildo's loofah, in the ass, or whatever orifice you spew your ignorance from...fucking idiot
@oneirishpoet Look your just another total asshole who doesn't give a CRAP about Reality! Krugamn is a Damn Pencil Pushing Ignoramus and he hasn't a CLUE about economics in the REAL WORLD... & REAL BUSINESS PEOPLE who know what it's like to employee people and ACTUALLY CREATE JOBS find Krugman to be a total inept Idiot and you must be too to believe his bullshit!
@oneirishpoet Your one of these Morons that level headed people look at and say WTF? Obama is spending us into oblivion; U see him doing it, Usee what happened to Greece, U KNOW unless your head has been stuck in ground, that Obama has dwarfed Bush's spendg even includg costs of War.Boeing going bankrupt, Boeing prevented from hiring in S. Carolina; Weapons no-bid contract to Brazil to same company who services Iran; Givg $ to Brazil to drill for oil, not us, etc.. etc.. Friggn brainwashed MORON
@DRABSOLUTETRUTH Krugman is a frign light weight who needs to keep his job in Princeton as he wouldn't be able to last were he to work and experience the variables his theories can't even touch... Keynesian Economics: The Beast That Won't Die on YouTube.. from REAL economists.. Krugman is about what 'should' happen or what 'ought to' happen.. not WHAT HAPPENS.. Gov interjection F's EVERYTHING up & is at the root of our lrgst problems
@maozebong100 O'Reilly was right, sorry.. Taste of reality here: Watch this on YouTube. Burning Down The House: What Caused Our Economic Crisis? Bombshell
Bill O riley is a moron...but thats really beside the point. If theres one thing most professional economists agree on, its that a government doesn't get out of a recession by pumping money or getting people to buy more tvs or any of the above. News flash, economies grow when innovations in technology create new products and new jobs. THE economy does NOT grow if the government merely hands you money to buy more tvs.
@TheInfernal36 I agree with what you say, however, I don't see anything O'Reilly said which was wrong... In-fact everything was right.. Taste of reality here: Watch this on YouTube. Burning Down The House: What Caused Our Economic Crisis? Bombshell
@DRABSOLUTETRUTH The banks created the mortgage crisis, and were able to do so because of deregulation. The anger should go to the corporations, who caused this mess. They plunged the economy into recession because, following the repeal of Glass-Stegall, along with the Bush administration putting industry-friendly regulators in charge of the SEC who didn't enforce existing regulations, the government was no longer forcing them not to fuck everything up.
@pocelrat Nobody excuses any corporations for their culpability, however, the Gov should not been involved in the first place to set the stage. If it weren't for the Gov, C.Dodd and B. Franks, etc.. etc.. this mess would not have had a chance to occur in the 1st place. I'll share w/you more info. if you'd like too long to post here
@pocelrat Also, WATCH THIS VIDEO ON YOUTUBE: In actuality, this should be all you need to know what happened. Here it is on youtube; search it: Burning Down The House: What Caused Our Economic Crisis? Bombshell
Paul Krugman is a very bad, dishonest human being. Period. This is not about O'Rielly,,,we know he is conservative. He doesn't pretend. Paul dose. He works for the "paper of record"..and I can make a case easily they are more partisan than Fox. Semper Fi.

@WWWLAW Yes, actually I have reviewed documented numbers which shows revs actually increased to the Gov... great article... Problem is that the Gov wastes the revs they get, then instead of learning from their mistakes, they just steal more & try to justify it under the guise of the evil rich!A bleedg man (economy) needs more than a transfusion (stimullus) to keep alive, the wound (spending) needs to be repaired;Obama has no intention of fixing the wound. Morons watch Greece&still don't get it
EHHHHH, Leave the table, def-defily- definitely leave the table. Get away from... Yeah, get away from the intolerable dickhead.... Definitely get away from the intolerable dickhead.
O'Reilly is somehow being an even bigger jerk than usual in this interview (seemingly physically threatening Krugman). That said, I am very much NOT a fan of Krugman either. In many ways Krugman is a very negative figure for this country with his highly irresponsible recommendations for "economic stimulus". Remember Krugman thought a housing bubble was a good idea! And as a Nobel prize winning economist, policy-makers certainly might have taken his advice.
@doublek321 Jerk? How can ANYONE compose themselves when they hear such Moronic Comments by someone like Krugman, the PENCIL PUSHER ECONOMIST who has no clue how things work beyond theories; no real world experience himself; he's like a backseat driver..
SLAVES OF PIG ISLAND [These pigs are our slaves, our niggers. We castrate them. They are ours to do with as we please, as current fashion fashions.] Praise the syndicators & corporators who find the will & the need to imprison, to poison, to murder, to confound the hapless. The flashpoint is approaching when citizens return insult for insult.
Not sure how I feel about this. On one hand Oreilly is aggressive, pointing, cutting Krugman off because he couldn't be objective and lose the debate. Then again, maybe he is pissed for good reason? Russert would call BS when he heard it, and he wasn't objecting to Oreilly's assault on Krugman.
@charmander4533 Krugman would have a better case if he took a job with the private sector himself and could see first hand how the economy works beyond his pencil pushing.
@MoneyDump85 Krugman is a Pencil Pusher economist who is either a liar or is as stupid as JRogers claims. He wants tax on financial transactions claimg conservatives tout how great what Singapore & HK R doing who use this tax.He fails to reveal:SP:NO taxes on capital gains(&Krugman demands Congress raise capital gains taxes);Corp income rate flat 17%;income tax rates R substantially lower than U.S.;In (Hong Kong) HK, corp&individual, are substantially lower than U.S;HK has no tax on capital gains

@WingThaiJ O Really? I live in Hong Kong and we have universal health care and public housing and minimum wage law just passed a years ago. Republicans want to destroy the welfare state and eliminate the minimum wage. I guess the Heritage Foundation don't want to tell you this fact right?
@pocelrat What is getting economy going in Hong Kong is Capitalisticstyle Policy. Compare how long it takes to open a bus. in U.S. now w/that of Hong Kong. Also, we have a $15 Trill debt&there is absolutely no way our country can afford universal health care&if uknew of numerous other methods that can be employed u might wise up(e.g., purchsg HC across state lines).U probably don't even know Progressive Eugenicists(racists)R who estab. min.wage in 1st place to keep Minorities out of wrk force!
@pocelrat Most people get MORE than min wage if they are worth it as an employer will not get rid of someone who is good at their job. It's funny how u use min. wage(a racist derived prog designed to keep minorities out of workforce by progressives)used by libs who don't know crap about economics Obama is DOING NOTHG of significance in cutting spendg which is ONLY way to deal w/deficit; he is NOT stoppg the spendg & hence heading our economy toward collapse! If U don't see this Your A Cult Member
@UltraProle21 The Nobel committee lost their credibility when they gave one out to Arafat the Terrorist! It's been a joke ever since... There's more credibility in acquiring an award by merely placing a quarter into a junk toy machine. The committee should be ignored by all.
@twitcher64 No, it just drives him crazy, as it does anyone with any sensibilities, to hear such moronic Crap spewing out of Krugmans Pencil Pushing Mouth. The question is how ANYONE w/ANY knowledge of economics wouldn't go crazy listening to this hack talk like he knows something beyond papers that sit on his desk..
@DRABSOLUTETRUTH Economics isn't a true science. There is no true correct answer. There are too many variables. People develop theories and plans that are based on a few known factors. So when you say that Krugman doesn't know anything about economics, I assume you just mean you disagree with his viewpoints.
@twitcher64Yes,he knows about economics, from a paper-pencil perspective. Also interjects his desired outcomes/what should/ought to be.This escapes effects ofFree Mrkt in an endeavor to force economy ur way. This idea is exemplified in ex ofCashforClunkers. Not only cost taxpayers more than$4Kcredit given car purchasers but it hurt used auto industry;charities relying upon car donations, parts dealers&mechanics because Obama forced all those vehicles tobe destroyed&sales plummeted for other products
@twitcher64 Cash for clunkers is a 'simple' example of how they do things.. People like Krugman and the left can't escape their notion that their ideas are great for people, only to find it slam them in the face when the unexpected happens. History shows, the Austrian model is FAR SUPERIOR to pissing $ in the wind & expecting to cover your ass w/Rich people's money & getting the public to go along w/it by using campaign slogans like "Pay Fair Share" as thought they aren't already.
Austrian Economics is the intelligent design of Economics. It is infamous among people who understand the philosophy of science because it isn't science. It is anti-science. Austrians openly reject empiricism and experimentation, the back bone of science and knowledge in general. It has no method of peer-review or self correction, so however wrong Austrian Economics is when the school initially came into being is how wrong it forever shall be.
Shame on Krugman for submitting himself to B.O.'s particular stink. The latter's career is based on making an audience of neophytes feel self-righteous while taking our economy down while threatening the rest of the world's at the same time (see 2008), declaring, in effect, the sub-prime mortgage crisis a crisis of socialist/communistic/devil-worshiping OVER-regulation. His act has made HIM a fortune off his largely white, middle class stable of viewer/bitches (i.e. YOU) in love w his pimping.
People are pitting liberal versus conservative by doing a krugman versus Oriley bit? WOW. Btw, bush tax cuts didn't cause a recession or necessarily cause an net exodus of jobs as Krugman is implying. If there's one thing modern academic economists all agree on...nothing can be stated for certain, even with using advanced econometric tools, it still isn't certain. So liberals thinking its evil tax cuts really have no basis to make such a claim. The truth, is probably far more nuanced and subtler
@TheInfernal36 According your logic, the entire field of economics lacks credibility because nothing can be stated for certain. Economics CAN make predictions to a high level of certainty. That's why it's a field of study in the first place moron. Yet you use your broken rationale as the basis to write off the field altogether. The fact is, Krugman has been consistently right and the right wing economists/supply side wackos/inflationistas/bond vigilantes consistently WRONG!
@Ydefinity obviously, you've never taken an econometrics class before. The pt was you can make assertions and inferences but given the high amount of variables, even the most sophisticated econometric models simply cannot isolate correlation and causation perfectly. Calling me a moron doesn't change that fact. And krugmen has been consistently right? Again, if you listen to most academic economists, you get a very diff idea...and these are economists from left wing schools too. You have no clue.
@TheInfernal36 What is so hard too see that keynesian has failed every time it's been used w/regard to STIMULUS... The lesson has been learned, but they continue to employ the same thing over and over again... Expecting different results?
@DRABSOLUTETRUTH the only argument i can see to favor stimulus is really just to easy people's pain when a recessions hits. If the government's job is to be a sort of big brother to the little people, then sure, i can accept that to some degree. What i cant accept and what a lot of people somehow still believe is that a stimulus actually gets us out of a recession.
@DRABSOLUTETRUTH We have actual history to look at here; government spending helps the economy. It’s how FDR ended the Great Depression. Then, when he listened to the deficit hawks and cut spending in 1937 before the economy had fully recovered, it went back into a recession.
@pocelrat ROFL, wow... Google UCLA FDR prolonged the depression.. tons of other study's verify this... we were taught revisionist liberal/progressive history.. I didn't know it either...
@pocelrat Watch this on YouTube: Top 3 Myths About the Great Depression and the New Deal Watch this on youtube also: Milton Friedman myths of great depression
@Ydefinity krugman has made so many different claims that are impossible to prove and furthermore, are misleading at best. To state a few-he called friedman's "claim" of fed imcompetence as the cause of the great depression dubious and misleading. However, listen to most serious economists and they all acknowledge that the fed played a huge role in the debacle. John taylor and tyle cohen have looked at data to disprove a number of krugman's blog claims as well. Again, you need to get a clue.
@Ydefinity The problem is that people like Krugman are too busy trying to make things turn out as they believe IT SHOULD or OUGHT TO turn out, thereby influencing/distrubing the natural course of the economy only to end up w/outcomes other than expected. Hence, why the damn Gov needs to stop handing $ over to selected businesses & needs to stop stealing $ from the public as they continue to make mistakes & scapegoat the rich for their ineptitude.
The funny thing that Krugman is a small man in comparison to this big dumb guy name O'Reilly., but Krugman is much more credible guy. In addition, the tax cuts did not create jobs, actually we are in a recession because of them right now.
@defensafinancial ROFL, Krugman is about as credible as Pee Wee Herman... Krugman is a Pencil Pusher Economist who thinks the economy can be influenced to do what he thinks it ought to do or should do, only to have unexpected results transpire. He believes in Gov interfering w/the markets which only set them off their natural course & ends up making things worse. Google Jim Rogers Hates Krugman, learn why
not a fan of either guy, but Krugman is right about fox and Bill O knbows it, thats why he gets loud and defensive. Btw, Bill O will not have Jesse Ventura on his show because he know he can't put his finger in his face and get away with it, or tell him to shut up
The interview happened on 8/7/2004. In July 2004, there were 109.883 million private sector employees. When the recession ended in Nov 2001, there were 109.575 million private sector employees. 300,000 private sector jobs added between the end of the recession in Nov 2001 and August 2004.
When the recession ended in July 2009, there were 107.649 million private sector employees. In Sept 2011, there were 109.349 million private sector employees. 1.7 million jobs created. Numbers from BLS
its funny that all the people against krugman (at least on this comments page) say he is wrong because he is well, just wrong. why is he a dipshit, moron, full of shit, etc. you cant just say he is wrong just 'cause. if you seriously read about his theories, they have all turned out (or everything i've read) to be correct. krugman's work are factual assertions; people against him just deny it because his theories are away from the traditional view
@bonzai348 Why don't you bone up... visit fee dot org and then see if you still believe as you do; unless you simply have a desire to believe Krugman is right just to believe it.Krugman is NOT experienced in the REAL WORLD of Bus..,HE IS a classic Pencil Pusher who makes sense of whats on paper only to give advise which ends up leadg toward unexpected results. This isn't hard to research yourself. He's a progressive tryg to shove his ideas into economic reality; can't be done
@pickle338 Ahhh, sorry, it turned out he's wrong.. I have yet to find him right on anything, after-all, the guy is a classic pencil pusher economist who, rather than allowg the economy to sort itself out, believes in interfering w/it's natural course to gain outcomes for which he perceives SHOULD BE or OUGHT TO BE... but never happens.. He allows his desires to supersede economic reality.. Research it yourself..
Krugman = hero hahaha, "this is not your show, you can't cut my mic"
and i'm sorry, judging the strength of the economy by opinion polls is about as retarded as asking a mechanic whether your heart is broken. Obviously if that was the only barometer we would have no need for the study and analysis of the economy. And it turned out Krugman was exactly 100% right about Bush's economic policies.
O'Reilly is just a fucking bully trying to intimidate Krugman, complete scumbag.
Krugman is not a smart guy, you are wrong Bill. He was also wrong about everything else and always is. He is just a mouthpiece for the Keynesians and the left.
@AroundSun Being a Keynesian does not mean you are on the left. You don't know anything about economics. When Bush said his tax cuts would stimulate the economy because people would have more money to spend, that was a Keynesian stimulus. Reaganomics was a Keynesian stimulus. Gross private investment averaged 16.8% of GDP under Reagan. It averaged 18.2% of GDP under Carter.
@RONPAULFREEDUMB Of course it does, its basis for everything is to give the government more power over the economy. That is why politicians love it. Bush? LMAO. You think he was conservative? He was the worse spender besides Obama in US history! Lets just borrow trillions from the rest of the world and blow it on consumption! Oh wait, we already did that, an we're broke..Ok, lets bailout the banks, oh we already did that, and the economy grew worse. Shit brained libs like you make me LOL
@RONPAULFREEDUMB PART 1: Economy lost 267K jobs in 6 quarters before 2003 tax cuts. In next 6 quarters, it added 307K jobs, followed by 5 mill jobs in next 7 quarters.
Non-residential fixed investment declined for 13 quarters before 2003 tax cuts. Since then, it has expanded for 13 quarters.S&P 500 dropped 18% in 6 quarters before 2003 tax cuts but increased by 32%over next 6 quarters. Dividend payouts increased as well.
@DRABSOLUTETRUTH PART 2:Critics contend that economy was already recoverg &this strong expansion would have occurred even w/out tax cuts. While some growth was naturally occurrg, critics don't explain Y such a sudden&dramatic turnaround began at exact moment these pro-growth policies were enacted. They don't explain Y bus. investment, stock market,&job #'s suddenly turned around in spring 2003.Its no coincidence that expansion was powered by strong investment growth, exactly as tax cuts intended.
@Leones44 The Bush tax cuts also created no jobs as Krugman said. In July 2001, there were 110.737 million private sector employees. Last month there were 109.349 million. So 10 years after the Bush cut taxes, there are 1.4 million fewer private sector employees. Mind boggling to see what a disaster Bush economic policies have been.
@RONPAULFREEDUMB A: The tax cuts have not substantially reduced current tax revs, which were in fact not far from 2000 pre-tax cut baseline&over 2003 pre-tax cut baseline in 2006;The increased child tax credit, 10% tax bracket, and fix of the alternative minimum tax (AMT) reducedtax revenues much more than most of the "tax cuts for the rich"Economic growth rates have more than doubled since the 2003 tax cuts; and
@RONPAULFREEDUMB B: The tax cuts shifted even more of the income tax burden toward the rich.
Setting optimal tax policy requires governing with facts rather than popular mythology, which is why it is important to set the record straight by debunking 10 myths about the Bush tax cuts.
Myth #1: Tax revs remain low.Fact: Tax revs R above historical average, even after the tax cuts.Myth #2: The Bush tax cuts substantially reduced 2006 revs and expanded the budget deficit.Fact: Nearly all of 2006 budget deficit resulted from additional spending above the baseline.Myth #3: Supply-side economics assumes all tax cuts immediately pay for themselves.Fact: It assumes replenishment of some but not necessarily all lost revs.
@RONPAULFREEDUMB D: Myth #4:Cap gains tax cuts do not pay for themselves.
Fact:Cap gains tax revs doubled followg 2003 tax cut.Myth #5:Bush tax cuts R to blame for projected long-term budget deficits.Fact: Projections show entitlement costs will dwarf projected large rev increases.Myth #6:Raisg taxes is best way to raise revs.Fact:Tax revs correlate w/economic growth, not tax rates.Myth #7:Reversg upper-income tax cuts would raise substantial revs.FACT:Low-income tax cuts reduced revs the most
Myth #1: Tax revs remain low.Fact: Tax revs R above historical average, even after the tax cuts.Myth #2: The Bush tax cuts substantially reduced 2006 revs and expanded the budget deficit.Fact: Nearly all of 2006 budget deficit resulted from additional spending above the baseline.Myth #3: Supply-side economics assumes all tax cuts immediately pay for themselves.Fact: It assumes replenishment of some but not necessarily all lost revs
@RONPAULFREEDUMB The 2003 tax cuts lowered income, capital gains, and dividend tax rates. These policies were designed to increase market incentives to work, save, and invest, thus creating jobs and increasing economic growth. An analysis of the six quarters before and after the 2003 tax cuts (a short enough time frame to exclude the 2001 recession) shows that this is exactly what happened
@RONPAULFREEDUMB R U blind to Carter, Clinton and everyone deserves a home and B. Franks and C. Dodd getting Gov involved in the 1st place w/an industry it has not business getting involved with? The biggest culprits are the dems. Perhaps you need to watch this on youtube: Burning Down The House: What Caused Our Economic Crisis? Bombshell
@Leones44 No, actually just the opposite. Krugman was wrong as usual. PART 1: Economy lost 267K jobs in 6 quarters before 2003 tax cuts.
Dividend payouts increased as well.

and btw the us is an evil country. It is just that the main news are propaganda for otherwise American people would not accept it. Unfortunately this is the true! Do not think that the us lies started with the irak invasion!!
When OReilly comes on, I switch to Fox BUSINESS News and watch Judge Andrew Napolitano on "Freedom Watch." I get the news of the day and learn about the Constitution! What a deal!
a recent poll just came out that said that more people watch Jon Stewart's daily show than watch the entire network of Fox news. Now that is saying something.
On another record whenever i look and listen to O'reilly, he reminds of of Redd Foreman (the dad from that 70's show) the only problem is Redd Foreman is a made up character, and O'reilly--unfortunately--is very much a real one.
@JpassTheTime If you give points to being loud, uncivil, completely monopolizing all the airtime and talking over both interviewer and guest, then yes you're right, Bill wins. This is exactly what he does on the O'Reilly factor--simple people assume that he's won the debate by virtue of being an outright bully, because they don't listen to or understand the actual "conversation", if you could even call it that.
Billy, you are such a fucking retard... Beautifully done to show how much of an asshole bill is... How did you edit it to make it look like this? Oh, its a continuous recording of the debate? WHAT? I thought us liberals are the propaganda kings? Shove it bill.
Bluemontana, you must not get much information where you live.
Both are morons? Yes, I guess that being a professor of economics who won the Nobel Prize in Economics makes one a moron.
How is O'Reilly "successful"? Jerry Springer is successful at making money and probably smarter. Being rich is irrelevant to one's arguments by the way. And O'Reilly gets pasted here. He can't answer a question, can't make a point, and just rants like a fool. If you can't see that, then you are a fool.
bluegsp: O'Reilly didn't expose anything except his own nasty personality... repeatecly shouting down someone who is responding to your serious accusations and rudenes is the sign of a man who doesn't have a leg to stand on in his own arguments, and he knows it! Of course, it sells to audiences who aren't really interested in the truth but only in entertainment of a certain kind...
@rascalndear Just look at Krugman, he is shifty! He has all of the physical tells of someone who is lying. (I would love to play poker with this idiot). look at him parsing his words "i didn't say recession, I said ineffective at job creation." Using logical fallacies, and its about time liars get confronted for the weasels that they are.

O'Reilly is quite obviously unable to discuss anything without being rude and personal. If he were in a serious blog, he'd be cut out, plain and simple. Stick to the subject and don't get personal or abusive! It's depressing to listen to this kind of unequal discussion where people think they're making real points by misquoting and outshouting the other person!

@joeledels Krugman is a lying idiot. Just look at him, he looks like a liar trying to parse his words, shifty eyes and cites discredited sources like "Outfoxed" and "Mediamatters". He is a joke and another example of why the Nobel Piece Prize is nothing but a liberal popularity prize.
@TheNapalmDonkey He won the Nobel prize for economics in 2008, Obama won a Nobel in 2009 for giving a speech, Al Gore won a Nobel in 2007 for making a movie full of lies. Jimmy Carter won a Nobel in 2002 for desperately trying to change his legacy as a failed president (I'm guessing that's why they gave one to Obama up front), Terrorist and anti Semite Yassar Arafat received one in 1994. The Nobel is meaningless and worthless.
@bluegsp You're comparing Krugman to leaders who won a peace prize you fucking moron. A Nobel for economics is not meaningless and worthless. You don't have the intelligence to even understand the theory for which Krugman was awarded his prize. You dumb schmuck.
@RONPAULFREEDUMB Nobel is a joke, you ron paul supporting crazy piece of shit. Krugman is a joke and so is ron paul. No one takes either one of them seriously just like they spit on insane ron paul supporting shit stains like you. Pull your head out of your ass and let your brain get some oxygen, fucking retard.
Bill O'Reilly argues by making statements who out-shouts Dr. Krugman's and doesn't allow him to answer his explosive charges. Frankly, O'Reilly is a perfect example of fascism in the media.
I see the cute little comments pasted over O'Reilly, but this video actually makes Krugman look like an idiot.
Bush's tax cuts did lead to growth in the economy DESPITE the massive whack that 9-11 did. Lest we forget, we had 4.6 unemployment under Bush. The job losses at the end were the result of the housing implosion, which was Barney Frank's fault more than anyone.
Someday those who have engaged in Treason will be swinging like a dope on a rope. O'Reilly deserves to hang. He is such an obviously closeted smegmite.

A recession is when the GDP's growth is lower than the standard. It does not mean the GDP goes down.
So say the GDP is supposed to increase by 15% and it only increases by 10%
That is a recession.

DRABSOLUTETRUTH 3 weeks ago
@DRABSOLUTETRUTH Economics isn't a true science. There is no true correct answer. There are too many variables. People develop theories and plans that are based on a few known factors. So when you say that Krugman doesn't know anything about economics, I assume you just mean you disagree with his viewpoints.
twitcher64 3 weeks ago
@twitcher64Yes,he knows about economics, from a paper-pencil perspective. Also interjects his desired outcomes/what should/ought to be.This escapes effects ofFree Mrkt in an endeavor to force economy ur way. This idea is exemplified in ex ofCashforClunkers. Not only cost taxpayers more than$4Kcredit given car purchasers but it hurt used auto industry;charities relying upon car donations, parts dealers&mechanics because Obama forced all those vehicles tobe destroyed&sales plummeted for other products
DRABSOLUTETRUTH 3 weeks ago
@twitcher64 Cash for clunkers is a 'simple' example of how they do things.. People like Krugman and the left can't escape their notion that their ideas are great for people, only to find it slam them in the face when the unexpected happens. History shows, the Austrian model is FAR SUPERIOR to pissing $ in the wind & expecting to cover your ass w/Rich people's money & getting the public to go along w/it by using campaign slogans like "Pay Fair Share" as thought they aren't already.
DRABSOLUTETRUTH 3 weeks ago
@DRABSOLUTETRUTH

YOU) in love w his pimping.
dantean 2 months ago
People are pitting liberal versus conservative by doing a krugman versus Oriley bit? WOW. Btw, bush tax cuts didn't cause a recession or necessarily cause an net exodus of jobs as Krugman is implying. If there's one thing modern academic economists all agree on...nothing can be stated for certain, even with using advanced econometric tools, it still isn't certain. So liberals thinking its evil tax cuts really have no basis to make such a claim. The truth, is probably far more nuanced and subtler
TheInfernal36 2 months ago
@TheInfernal36 According your logic, the entire field of economics lacks credibility because nothing can be stated for certain. Economics CAN make predictions to a high level of certainty. That's why it's a field of study in the first place moron. Yet you use your broken rationale as the basis to write off the field altogether. The fact is, Krugman has been consistently right and the right wing economists/supply side wackos/inflationistas/bond vigilantes consistently WRONG!
Ydefinity 2 months ago
@Ydefinity obviously, you've never taken an econometrics class before. The pt was you can make assertions and inferences but given the high amount of variables, even the most sophisticated econometric models simply cannot isolate correlation and causation perfectly. Calling me a moron doesn't change that fact. And krugmen has been consistently right? Again, if you listen to most academic economists, you get a very diff idea...and these are economists from left wing schools too. You have no clue.

TheInfernal36 3 weeks ago
@DRABSOLUTETRUTH We have actual history to look at here; government spending helps the economy. It’s how FDR ended the Great Depression. Then, when he listened to the deficit hawks and cut spending in 1937 before the economy had fully recovered, it went back into a recession.

TheInfernal36 2 months ago
@Ydefinity The problem is that people like Krugman are too busy trying to make things turn out as they believe IT SHOULD or OUGHT TO turn out, thereby influencing/distrubing the natural course of the economy only to end up w/outcomes other than expected. Hence, why the damn Gov needs to stop handing $ over to selected businesses & needs to stop stealing $ from the public as they continue to make mistakes & scapegoat the rich for their ineptitude.

@RONPAULFREEDUMB The 2003 tax cuts lowered income, capital gains, and dividend tax rates. These policies were designed to increase market incentives to work, save, and invest, thus creating jobs and increasing economic growth.

@Leones44 PART 2:Critics contend that economy was already recoverg &this strong expansion would have occurred even w/out tax cuts. While some growth was naturally occurrg, critics don't explain Y such a sudden&dramatic turnaround began at exact moment these pro-growth policies were enacted. They don't explain Y bus. investment, stock market,&job #'s suddenly turned around in spring 2003.Its no coincidence that expansion was powered by strong investment growth, exactly as tax cuts intended

When OReilly comes on, I switch to Fox BUSINESS News and watch Judge Andrew Napolitano on "Freedom Watch." I get the news of the day and learn about the Constitution! What a deal!
vechorik 3 months ago
a recent poll just came out that said that more people watch Jon Stewart's daily show than watch the entire network of Fox news. Now that is saying something.
On another record whenever i look and listen to O'reilly, he reminds of of Redd Foreman (the dad from that 70's show) the only problem is Redd Foreman is a made up character, and O'reilly--unfortunately--is very much a real one.

bill had better points. Krugman has been called out over and over agian.
JpassTheTime 4 months ago
@JpassTheTime If you give points to being loud, uncivil, completely monopolizing all the airtime and talking over both interviewer and guest, then yes you're right, Bill wins. This is exactly what he does on the O'Reilly factor--simple people assume that he's won the debate by virtue of being an outright bully, because they don't listen to or understand the actual "conversation", if you could even call it that.
xxcrysad3000xx 3 months ago
@JpassTheTime No. I define points as cogent arguments against Krugmans shillish Keynesian slander.
JpassTheTime 3 months ago
@JpassTheTime I hope your first post read "Bill O'Reilly doesn't make a single point this entire time" in that case.
DownOnMyLuck 3 months ago

What I find extremely interesting, is just how prophetic Krugman was.
And the Republicans still love to ridicule the guy because he's a Keynesian, and not a Friedmanite.
Friedman economics sucks. Friedman economics is what has brought the worst recession since the Great Depression.

bluegsp: O'Reilly didn't expose anything except his own nasty personality... repeatecly shouting down someone who is responding to your serious accusations and rudenes is the sign of a man who doesn't have a leg to stand on in his own arguments, and he knows it!

He is a joke and another example of why the Nobel Piece Prize is nothing but a liberal popularity prize.

bluegsp 4 months ago
@TheNapalmDonkey He won the Nobel prize for economics in 2008, Obama won a Nobel in 2009 for giving a speech, Al Gore won a Nobel in 2007 for making a movie full of lies. Jimmy Carter won a Nobel in 2002 for desperately trying to change his legacy as a failed president (I'm guessing that's why they gave one to Obama up front), Terrorist and anti Semite Yassar Arafat received one in 1994. The Nobel is meaningless and worthless.
bluegsp 4 months ago
@bluegsp You're comparing Krugman to leaders who won a peace prize you fucking moron. A Nobel for economics is not meaningless and worthless. You don't have the intelligence to even understand the theory for which Krugman was awarded his prize. You dumb schmuck.
