  • I also admit I will never ever get tired of this song either!!!!!!!!

  • Crank. Best scene ever!

  • EPIC. Will never tire of this!

  • No doubt, classic stuff!

  • I would like to know who are the 26 dumb asses that don't like this, come on people, I mean really. What's not to like?

  • sweet song how could one not like it?

  • In 1982-85 I played drums for a band called "The Goodtimes Travelling Band". We were based in Champaign, IL. We played this song and "Searchin' For A Rainbow". These songs bring back some great memories. We did them PROUD!

  • Nothing like driving in my truck with my 10 year old girl and seeing her sing this along with me. Nothing! I still have hope that that she will love ALL the music her old man likes. Was asked by some more "progressive" types as to why I would let a 10 year old girl listen to the words of this song and let her sing it as to which I replied, "are you kidding me?" With all the crap that has been spewed out there being called music, you bet your damn ass I want my girl listening to this. - A Texan..

  • Better advice in this song on leaving your woman than in Paul Simon's 50 ways to leave your lover!

  • How could anybody dislike this song? I absolutely love it!!!

  • perhaps someone such as marshall tucker could school todays artists what REAL country rock is....then a city boy would pay more attention to the country genre This is a listen to ANYTIME SONG and has been since the summer of 1977

  • Love that southern rock!

  • Yaaayyyy! The quality is absolutely AWESOME! Thank you so MUCH!

  • bernice, wherever you are I LOVE YOU

  • @ScreamDream3000 This takes me back to my childhood in June 1977. I was riding on my neighbor's kids' swing set when my parents blasted this song for us little kids to hear. Ah, those were the good old days where today's reality didn't exist. Thanks for posting this piece of my past. A great smile-bringer, indeed.

  • Saw Marshall Tucker in 1979 with Firefall :)

  • @WeeblesRebellion Wow I would love to see them so much you are so lucky

  • Piano is awesome in this song. Of course, the song is awesome!!

  • evil will fall!!! GOD WATCHES US ALL!!!

  • Caldwell Brothers forever, Marshall Tucker all day long partner...Happy Holidays everybody, Keep the good hearts flowin and all shall perish

  • KennyThrusts & OldSpiceRN- Two of the most truthful statements ever made here. I grew up lovin' all music. Love in particular the 60s and 70s. Used to drive my friends crazy. I'd cut my own cassettes. I might have 1-2 songs like MTB, followed by a couple of the Temptations, Kiss, then followed by Amazing Grace. Loved it then, and still do now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @5beetlebopper1

Like Louis Armstrong said when asked if he was abandoning jazz for folk music: "All music is folks music."

  • im not a redneck but ive got good ole boy in the blood,i like sooo much music from back then and now but these tunes grip the memories forever

  • 1977 all over again.Great times back then!

  • @jdpinbaytown so true.......... it just hits me like a heart attack.

  • Good old times.

  • Brings back good mempries!

  • classic tucker song!

  • love all the comments! this is more than great!!!!

  • has anyone ever rode to this

  • I went their concerts as many times as I could. Loved everything they sang. As a cowboy, I dumped my g/f and kept on the road on my "iron horse" and a 6 string.

  • Hot summer night..in summer of 93, with my old gf Sharon...I saw this on a table with a stack of other albums and said to her..you know..this is a really great band...she said I know honey..that's why I got it..lol...I miss her..that was our first night together..home from the bar...and not even realizing I had the love of my life with me then. She is gone home to Jesus now...and I miss her every day. You were taken way too soon baby. I will always love you Sharon. Forever.

  • @davehutchinson67

man,I had a fight with the wife tonight,

reading this, what are we fightin about?

Im goin up now to make up

  • If you can't FEEL this, you ain't never been FREE

  • Great song to listen to when driving down the highway.

  • Greatest flute intro ever...EVER...

  • 23 can't hear.

  • Heard it in Crank 2

  • This one's for you Sharon, wonder how many times we heard this one. I remember, goodbye doesn't mean forever.

  • A wonderful memory of the seventies against all that disco crap!!!

  • the beastie boys get into the hall of fame but these guys don't.something wrong with that

  • @Afrojoeable u ain't shittin. fuck the beastie boys.

  • =D Heard it in this song

  • An absolute classic. This song will NEVER die...

  • Comment removed

  • Damn..what a great song.A sad song. What a band they were! You don't hear a flute too often in rock. "....i'd stay another year if i saw a teardrop in your eye..." That's songwriting.

  • @bezzarguy Yes indeed- that's songwriting - Toy was great with the words and melodies- "24 hours at a Time", "Can't You See" etc. and George McCorkle kicked in big time with the amazing "Fire on the Mountain"

  • great memories of the 70s.it dont get much better than this classic. rock on peace to all.

  • = o )

  • the lyrics are embarrasing. Sentimental way of saying the guy can't make a commitment to anyone.

  • @lillianshore You misspelled embarrassing. But, that figures, a jackass like yourself who can't understand the definition of "artistic expression", probably doesn't own a dictionary.

  • @3006khz Relax dude, every person hears what they want in a song, let him hear what he wants, you go on hearing what you want, and I'll do the same.

  • @ross62681 I am relaxed, dude. I ain't trying to stop anyone, from "hearing what they want in a song". In fact, i told nobody to do anything, thats what you're doing... Get it straight, dude.

Really dude, you can't tell me or anybody else here on YT what to do. So why try? It's you who needs to relax. But, i ain't telling you what to do.

  • @3006khz Hah, so me telling you to relax is worse than you calling a complete stranger a jackass because of how (s)he interprets a song. Good to know.

  • @ross62681 Dude, you are lost ! I never said anything was "worse". Where did pull that out of??? Nevermind... I don't want to know...

I ain't taking my comments back, ross. Maybe some counceling will help you get over this fact.

  • @3006khz You misspelled "counseling", but that figures, a jackass like you probably doesn't own a dictionary.

  • @ross62681 Touche.

  • Just a plain beautiful song. No pretention, no politics, no bullshit. One of the finest examples of true Southern Rock. Thank you Marshall.

  • Man these cat's are in there 60's & 70's and still ROCK'IN!

Seen them in Tucson, AZ 3 yrs ago with the doobies. killer!

  • oh the south still beautiful mant kin that way love it

  • dreamin' bout tomorrow today. Can't spell any a these words.10' long

  • The song still works even in 2011

  • I'm a black guy who happens to love this mellow, good ole boy song. Heard it in college from a redneck friend outta Carolina. Music is definitely the universal language.

  • @KennyThrusts Thanks, neighbor. It's great to see someone put cultural expectations aside and recognize the good when the see (hear) it. I totally agree with your last statement, and if the world weren't about to go to hell in a hand-basket, we could probably see some results from that (even though the smarter folks have been trying without success for decades...) -Cheers. ( In all seriousness)

  • @KennyThrusts MAN WHEN IT COMES TO MUSIC I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANY SHEET MUSIC THAT WAS NOT COLOR BLIND. WE ALL HURT, LAUGH, LOVE AND FALLOUT OF LOVE. I AM A REDNECK BOY WHO THINKS OTIS,SOLOMON,SAM, ETC. SANG WHAT I FELT. GREAT COMMENT KENNY!!!!

  • @KennyThrusts great song I know but lets not use any racist terms here. NO N word No R word. thanks

  • @KennyThrusts you got it brother.If I knew then what I know now....wow

  • Comment removed

  • The MTB played a concert in my little po-dunk town of Watseka, IL. this year and man was it great!!!! these guys still have it after all the passing years. If you ever get a chance to see them go and you will not be sorry.

    thanks for posting 5*****

  • love to 2 step to this with the wife

  • great song, thanks for sharing.

  • Great music! Played this song at my brothers funeral. It went very well and touched a lot of peoples hearts. Oh how the years fly by. This music brings me back!

  • I'm glad I don't feel we've lost the ability to create good music. There's plenty of talented people without - and with computers. There'll always be new music that I love - and that doesn't make we care any less for the wonderful talents of performers like The Marshall Tucker Band.

  • Love this music...nothing like it. What happened to good music? Not everything gets better with time.

  • breaking bad :)

  • Thumbs up if you came here cause the pic looked like a nude chick.

  • I grew up in Wisconsin, and as a teenager in the mid-70's southern rock was big, interestingly. Great memories listening to Tucker, Lynard Skynard, Charlie Daniels, etc.

  • @Johnmadwiscclem I spent two years in Waupun. I met a girl who was just as crazy as I was about the blues and southern rock. We had a year together. Cancer. Those were the best days of my life.

  • @Johnmadwiscclem I spent two years in Waupun. I met a girl who was just as crazy as I was about the blues and southern rock. We had a year together. Cancer. Those were the best days of my life. I never had a damn thing but what I had I had to leave behind.

  • @Johnmadwiscclem Their live lp from 1974 "Where we all Belong" was recorded in Wis.

  • My girl is older than me, and she introduced me to this song and band at a concert in Memphis, TN. It has been a decade since then, and she is very ill (Cushings/No Insurance). I will always love this song; for in that moment I felt the greatest love for another I have ever felt, and I thank her for that every day.

  • purty little love song! lol.....thats what i hear man ! lol...

  • @cholulasaucehot1 LOL! Meeeeee too! Purdy little looooooooove song...can't be wrong! ;)

  • Good song

  • aint this a sweet sound to the ear!

  • The best music to come out of the 70s.The women were pretty good too.

  • wwwofficialtoycaldwelldotcom

  • Takes me back...long ways back.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG. FANTASTIC!

  • tear in my eye...

  • It just doesnt get any better than this. A time when music was real, bands were real, had real talent, no computer generated crap, real feelings and emotions, and music just made sense. This is a real nice song. Real nice. (: We lost this along the way, we sure did. It is a damn shame.

  • @OldSpiceRatherNice Pop music lost it, but there is still REAL music out there. You just have to look for it harder.

  • @OldSpiceRatherNice The worlds seems to work with cycles and revolutions. You can't have pure raw music forever, it has to die and come back.

  • @OldSpiceRatherNice Amen! I still can't understand how computer generated crap is tollerated muchless why people actually pay money for it. This is the kin of stuff I grew up on & I love this album. Awesome!

  • @OldSpiceRatherNice you hit on the head.sad to see the lack of talent

  • I heard this song in many a Virginia bar

  • The piano in this song has the most soul of any keyboards anywhere anytime.

  • For years I thought they were saying "Purty little love song." LOL I don't know when I realized that wasn't what they were saying!

  • You"re the hardest thing I ever tried to get off my mind.....still today.

  • this is one of my favorite songs, love the flute

  • From Calumet City Illinois a bodyman and a carpenter apprentice get a gift of a drive-way car, a white Cadillac Deville, from their mensch boss leading to a road movie of experiences of strawberry elixirs, a petite brunette flame from Boulder and waitresses looking for break, rock climbing gone wrong, Vegas when it was COOL and landing tickets at Universal Theater featureing some guy named Steve Martin........yeah I'll go back

  • I give props to any band that can make a flute solo work.

  • This song reminds of my life so much.

  • Feel so very fortunate to come of age during this period, and why God blessed us with so many great musicians during the late 50's through late 70's hope to find out when I get there.

  • My new favorite song!

  • The tune is in a way, the meat of American 70s music.

  • @liamtz just a great country/rock crossover tune.i think the piano solo does it for me.great tune.

  • Never knew who performed this song though I heard it as a young man. Lately heard it again on "King of the Hill" of all places. Though the title was "Pretty Little Love Song." Thanks for posting.

  • Such great music from the era when they wrote it, they played it, and sang it.

  • well we know 18 people don't know good music and talent when hear it

  • Thank You..:)

  • THIS IS ME..I HAVE THE SAME STORY....

  • Great song and great memories. 1977 was the summer before I started college. Drove between Houston and Flagstaff, AZ. I can see the road, the desert and the stars at night whenever I hear this song. Wish I could go back to that summer.

  • @rsanford100 i live in arizona, i heard this song on king of the hill, O.o

  • @D84D: So touching to hear someone appreciate a 'step' parent so well!

  • They led in for Allman Brothers in Hartford, CT in '77. Completely smoked the Allmans.

  • HAVE to sing along with this every time it comes on!

  • @ShowMeMud me too! I'm not really a good singer but I have to belt this one out many years.

  • @greyhoundfriend123 i can match it for tone and pitch. one of FEW i could do at a scaryoke bar. dont need the teleprompter. i know it by heart :)

  • One of my all time favorites.

  • We were very much in love . . . her name was Barbara . . . this was "our song." Where did it go?

  • @chinnmusic Haha I;ll agree one hundered percent

  • 18 people who haven't a clue about what real music is!

  • Hot summer days and moist southern nights that seemed like they would last forever. Smokey and the Bandit and CB radios. Star Wars and Driveins and curbside service, and pretty girls all made up with perfume and tight bluejeans and stars in their eyes.......
