OHHH my god. It makes me so sad that people with freckles sometimes hate them so much.. I find that freckles are probably one of the most beautiful things of the human body. It's just so unique, so lively!
They don't look ugly for me either. I don't know what exactly they are going through but I understand their feelings very well. I have self-perception trouble caused by an eating disorder and BPD. But I'm glad I'm feeling not that bad as they do. And yeah, I have freckles as well and I know what it feels like to be bullied and teased as a child. I turned 24 a few days ago and I'm still uncomfortable with my freckles because of this childhood issue. Most people like my freckles and find it kinda
i have something to say about people with BDD i bet you all of the people with BDD are beautifal on the inside and out dont listen to what other people say just be you it always works there will be someone out there who loves you just remeber that
man i hate to see ol this .. i olso use to look myself in the mirror n olwys complained bout my looks n i would look my self for a long tyme ..n whn i go out n i did nt feel i look my best .. i would not dare look someone in the eye ..bt the thing is just dont look at urself in the mirror too often ..jus keep that image in ur head what u look like n thats ol n feel confident .. it may sound hard bt its quite easy if u try :) ..
It really never matters about how you look its about the inside like your personalities people should stop obsessing about looks it gives insecureness and maybe fake friends, just want to be friends with you cuz you handsome or pretty trying to get popularity but this is my opinion.Don't judge the judge ones.
@Librasoul7 At the end of the day, image is a strong part of our society whether it be looking smart for interviews or dressing up to impress the opposite sex. Enough of this ''it's about what's on the inside meh meh'' cheesy crap, live in the real world.
There are times when I hate my body and my nose! It's only natural! Even supermodels have insecurities! But I make others like me because I'm very outgoing and sociable. I joke about things I don't like on me and try to show to other people that I'm fine with my imperfections. And it's very effective... You look the way you feel! I feel good about myself and that's why, even thought I'm an average looking girl, I have dated extremely good looking guys! So don't hate yourself, embrace your flaws!
"The world has hated me, the world bullied me, and there has to be a reason. Im the reason, Im ugly." Im trying to understand this, and this is what it sounds like to me. BDD sufferers have narrowed their world, drawn into themselves and gain a 'fake' control by focusing on the most obvious thing. Looks. Its not I hate being me, its they Must hate me because Im ugly. Its sad to despise the body you are in. Suggestion... volunteer in Africa, get out of the small world life has become.
Some of the people commenting are very mean and ignorant! It's a disease! No normal person who just thinks they're ugly would hide their face from everything. This is far more than having no self confidence. It's more psychological than being shallow.

They just need to get lives
@HallowsReign23 Screw you! I had it 4th through 7th grade and I got it from bullies and haters putting me down. And it's not so easy to reject. I tried for years and it didn't go away. I tried and wanted to believe the people around me telling me i was beautiful but it was impossible. You know what I did every time I looked in the mirror, I cried because no matter how hard I tried I couldn't get it out of my head. If you had it you would understand but since you don't shut the f##k up!
@stellabella841 That's what you're not understanding I guess. It DOESN'T MATTER what people tell you. No matter what someone says to you about your looks, it's all up to you on how you feel about yourself. And if you agree with all the negative comments you're going to believe it. It's YOUR fault. Everyone hates something about their body from time to time, no one completely likes their own body but it's up to YOU to love yourself and push out the negative comments. BDD doesn't exist.
@HallowsReign23 Its not the same as being ugly, its a disease, no matter how hard you try it's not that simple. Its a disease that's in your head and you cant help. It's not about self esteem or confidence it's like looking in a mirror and being totally different it's like being blind. If your fat or have wrinkles you try to hide it but you don't cry about it or never show yourself to anyone or even suicide. Until you have it you cannot say things like that cause you just don't get it.
@HallowsReign23 And I may of got it from bullies attacking me but others have it bad and are beautiful and have never had a negative comment said about their looks. You cant embrace the negative comments or try to push them away when their is none.
No point being a blonde bimbo... You might end up with a rich guy from the city in a nice house but it's worth nothing when he's fucking the secretary
@bikegirl2 It doesn't only affect rich people, but it definitely seems to be more prominent in the west. Mostly, it's due to the barrage of media that states how a person should look. The problem is that these images in the media are manufactured and are entirely unattainable.

Right now I'm not working and I can tell that I'm falling backwards. I think that BDD is a form of anxiety so I think that you are right. They probably need to learn how to buck up and cope. Medicine might help too though.
people who dont feel like this will never understand no matter how hard they can try to imagine they will never understand, just as they will never understand what its like to live without 2 legs or arms.
I remember since I was like 11 I was wearing sweaters and sweat pants all the time to hide how fat I was but when I look back at photos of me I wasn't even fat :P
@KeishaKittie And I used to wear baggy sweaters to hide my tiny breasts. When I look back at my photos, hell yeah, I DID have extremely small breasts!
My point is that a lot of times ppl just get wrong ideas about their looks, and call themselves ugly for no apparent reason. But a lot of times, the reason is actually there, and it fucks up your life, and there's nothing you can do about it.
I'm sick of people taking this condition so lightly. I was diagnosed with BDD about 3 years ago, and at my worst it was HELL. I didn't want to leave the house, didn't even want to go downstairs to see my parents, I felt THAT ashamed of my appearance. I just wish people wouldn't joke about it, because it's pretty serious.
I wonder if people in war torn countries have these problems. Seriously, I wonder if these people have these problems because there is nothing else for them to be busy with or worry about. Are these the types of problems that ocurr only in wealthy countries? Are there people in Afghanistan that have anorexia?
@ds41980 Good question. I'm sure this problem can happen "anywhere" in the world. After all, it is a mental issue. Usually we only hear about 6 legged or 2 headed babies from these 3rd world countries. I doubt if we'll ever know because all attention is focused on war and nothing else. Broadcast corporations are a business. There's money to be made. They'd rather feed on topics like who's blowing the shit out of each other.
@ds41980 it happens all over the world, it just doesn't have exposure. of course you won't have problems like binge eating in wealthy countries, but stuff like BDD does happen everywhere, maybe less common. though i'd say it's possible it's even more common in war countries since there's more stress on people but who knows, there's no studies on the subject so yeah.
Kitty's father must be dumber than a box of rocks. Who gives their crazy daughter money for SEVEN nose jobs, knowing what she really needs is a shrink?
@jesus269424 its a mental health issue, like depression or schizophrenia with an eating disorder. try & tell an anorexic person to get over themselves, & see how that goes.
Those people have a psychological issue with low self esteem that needs to be pushed up. You don't look like a super model .... So WHAT? these super models aren't just born supermodels they actually have to dress up and put some effort into looking like once you know ? All those cover girls/celebrities etc... they have tons of make up on their faces to make them look that way. Chill...
@jesus269424 You're really an idiot. It is a serious condition these people suffer from. You won't tell a scizophrenic to "get over himself", would you? It's not something you choose, you suffer from this disorder and it's far more complex that your tiny brain seems able to comprehend. People like you are the problem in our society. Instead of listening and paying attention, you judge like stupid sheeps.
I have Dismorphia...It's aweful. I can never see myself the way others do. To myself I look like a fat ugly gorrilla-girl. To others I look pretty attractive. I have been told it comes from when I was a child when I was bullied and told I was ugly over and over again.
@HooliganBarlow I know the feeling. I don't have BDD, but I do have social anxiety. I understand her fear of going out onto a crowded street and thinking that everyone who looks at you is judging you.
@glamourchick21 i used to have social anxiety disorder. now im completely different - i cant understand how i was ever like that. i used to be pretty much mute - i was so anxious that i couldnt have conversations with people, & envied ppl who could just chat. i struggled to come up with anything to say. now i dont even have to really think about what to say - i can just chat. i still do feel like ppl r looking at & judging me in public though but im self-concious, not socially anxious.
Doesn't make sense to me, if they actually see themselves as deformed etc (as opposed to not liking the true image) then surely everyone else and everything else will look wierd too. I don't buy it.
@Corrupt5358 Mental illness is not logical. Have you ever encountered someone who, for example, sees his or herself as fat, when he or she really isn't? In some cases, it's just a cry for attention, but in many others it's because the person TRULY sees themselves in this way. This is along the same vein...obviously this is much more severe.
this girl is so selfish, having sunk her dad in a 60 thousand pound debt! i sypathise with the way she feels but what of war, burn, acid attack victims who choose to be strong and face life?
Have you guys every noticed that when welook in the mirror at home, we look like sex, but then when we look at one while out and about, we look awful?
@OpenSourceFrog And pictures and videos are even worse! I am really surprised every single time I look good in them. I must be delusional or something, as, what I see in the mirror is a pretty and sexy woman, but my pics and vids almost drive me to tears...
If we as humans didn't make each other feel 'ugly' then there wouldn't be all these issues of ppl worrying abt their looks and wanting surgery in a bid to try and fix them. Most of us are to blame cos we are constantly putting others down based on how they look.
@xane1990 that's just life. fact is, some people are better looking than others. And people put others down. the problem isn't with the average person, the problem here lies with these people who aren't really ugly but allow themselves to be trapped in this delusion that they are.
This girl has been phsycologically absued by her parents or someone. It is the result of parents absue, verbal insults etc. Tragic and brutal, I hope she turns to God to help her.
The whole concept of psychiatry was developed well before 1900 in Germany to get rid of people complaining. The first use of directed energy weapons can be recognized in psychiatric literature from 1908. You find it in chapter Psychiatrie-->Klinik der Narkolepsie on my homepage. During the NAZI time this concept was given up as Germany just murdered oponents. It was relaunched directly after the war to persecute and silence concentration camp survivors.
people need to be more grateful for what they have. maybe she's not society's definition of pretty, but she's not DEAF, BLIND, PARALYZED...she has all of her limbs, she is not severely overweight...she can walk she can run, read, speak, many things people cannot do and would give ANYTHING to do.
God loves you. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died for your sins, was buried and rose again so that all who believe in Him will have eternal life in Heaven. “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved,” - Acts 16:31
if you're body functions normally; if you're reasonably healthy; you should consider your self lucky to have a healthy, normally functioning body. think of people born with birth defects who HAVE to go for surgery several times to SAVE THEIR LIVES. think of those with no limbs who get prosthetic legs or arms AND GO OUT AND ENJOY LIFE REGARDLESS OF THE LOOKS THEY GET FROM "NORMAL" PEOPLE. think of how lucky you are that your body is doing what it SHOULD do.
If I suffer from this. My true friends yelled at me to ..."GET OVER IT!!" My parents would threaten to throw me out of the house. Tough love. I do not know. But I envy the guy's face.
She is naturally beautiful. She should not have done any operation. If she doesn't like her skin, the laser can remove the spots or just use skincare fundation. I don't understand.
I think beautiful/ugly people both have some odds of finding true love. Beautiful people is mess around more, but they won't be loved for what's on the inside while ugly people may not have a lot of suiters, but have a chance of the other loving them for who they are.
@bealtespip123 you sound so stupid saying if your goodlooking u wont be loved for whats on the inside hahaha shut up u sound so dumb lots of goodlooking people are loved in all ways
That girl KAyla - WTF? I'd kill to look like her! She looks pretty! I know I'm ugly, and I can't do anything to change it, and here's this pretty girl wasting her better years stuck in her fucking room?! NO.
@MeandmySara there is no such thing as 'ugly'! 'Ugly' is something society has created when they found 'the look' and many believe if they don't have it they're 'ugly'. Everyone has those little things about themselves that they aren't quite happy with but those things are trivial and don't mean anything. You're beautiful, just like every other person!
@campcoskuro If you're talking about physical attractiveness, it absolutely has biological determinants and we have been discriminating based on them since the dawn of time (how do you think our ancestors decided which mates would be ideal for producing offspring with?) The ideal of beauty formed by 'society' did not spring out of thin air. It's certainly PC to pretend that "everyone is beautiful" but all this mindset does is mask insecurity with false pride.
@xXPinkGoddessXx in other words, you think I'm insecure. Nope. What I'm saying is F**K 'the look'. I have a fat ass, big nose, and thick eyebrows and ya know what?...I'm sexy as hell! that whole selective breeding thing sucks in my opinion. "The future generation must look like this!" give me a break.
@campcoskuro No, in other words, you are trying to pretend that a universal standard of beauty (not to be confused with style) does not exist. And "that whole selective breeding thing" is the reason you have advanced intelligence, a highly immune biological system, and many other traits that essentially make you human.
@xXPinkGoddessXx i thought you were talking about the 'style' aspect and the physical appearance. My bad. I do know that selective breeding gave us higher intelligence and whatnot. But I just can't see why people in this show (regardless of how they appear) would hide. I know for these specific people it's an illness but I mean average people.
@xXPinkGoddessXx You would have an argument based purely on the genetic side IF the traits being selected and glorified as beautiful weren't in many cases detrimental to reproductive health and viability of offspring. For example extreme thinness, large fake breasts, tan skin, all these things can have health impacts. "The look" has been determined by the media for as long as I've been alive and probably my parents as well.
@HeatherC19 Extreme thinness is not glorified anywhere except in the high fashion industry, which in no way markets itself to the public majority. Most successful Hollywood sex symbols are not underweight and have curves. Fake breasts are not glorified either; large, firm breasts are, and implants are simply a by-product of that. The fact that some desired traits CAN have health impacts is also irrelevant to my argument, as the unconscious biological drive toward them still exists.
@xXPinkGoddessXx When you're shown something every day of your life that you turn on the tv, see an ad on the net or walk outside and see a billboard, and things are marketed specifically to gear you towards a certain image... it may be unconscious for the "sheep" but for the people who made that image for you to take in it sure as fuck is conscious. Traits valued now are not the same as traits valued historically.
@xXPinkGoddessXx Unless you mean to suggest that humans have changed so drastically in the past 100 years that our entire reproductive programming should change as well? The reality is these traits are chosen by the media. They choose what looks good and they bombard you with it every day you live "on the grid". Its going to influence people, and indeed it will create unrealistic standards.
I disagree wholeheartedly with your statement about extreme thinness. That is marketing to the general public (at least the US), but we *clearly* aren't adhering to that.
@lavinder11 If it's marketed to the general public why does the vast majority of commercial advertising use models who are of medium or slender weight, and curvy?
What does "medium or slender weight" mean to you? The only commercials I can think of that use "average" sized women is for Dove and weight loss pills.
@lavinder11 It means simply, not underweight. Not noticeably or drastically thin. Can you please link me to an advertisement unrelated to high fashion that uses only underweight models?
@campcoskuro If everyone was beautiful....everyone would just be average. But there are some ugly people and some gorgeous people. You can't have a 10/10 without having a 1/10. Without short people there wouldn't be tall people. Without skinny people we wouldn't have fat people.
Feminists have simply convinced women to empower each other instead of being honest with one another.
@campcoskuro I totally agree. I see more people that are ugly on the inside & gorgeous on the outside, but what I find ugly & repulsive are people who over eat & over-indulge to the point it makes them obese or abuse cigarettes, booze, & dope so much it fucks up their whole body & health...
@campcoskuro well I agree with you but honestly i dont like the statement "your beautiful just like everyone else". beauty and ugly are both arbitrary terms repersented by standards of the individual,in other words "beauty is in the eye of the beholder". there going to be some people we find ugly in this world and theres gonna be some we find trully beautiful, it all depends on what those two words mean to us
me 2 its heart breaking to see people this bad. Girls always say Im attractive im 6'2'' 180 pounds and lean but my past difficulties affected my self image. If you need to talk im here :)
I cannot stand people who can't understand this is a very serious disorder. Telling them beauty is only skin deep, to get over it, they can only help themselves, etc. It won't take the disorder away. It's like telling someone with Schizophrenia to stop hallucinating and seeing things, or someone with tourettes to stop having tics. Do people these days really have that low understanding and empathy? I wish mental illnesses were taken as serious as physical illnesses.
I think I might have BDD, I haven't left the house since 2010. I can't get therapy because I'm ashamed of the way I look and can't let the therapist see me.
I'm going to be 20 in a month from now, but my life is probably over
@zoeboredashell people don't see the flaws you see in yourself, and you are beautiful, despite your looks. You have this amazing power to shape your future however you want it. talk to someone and don't throw your life away.

I wonder if people in war torn countries have these problems. Seriously, I wonder if these people have these problems because there is nothing else for them to be busy with or worry about. Are these the types of problems that ocurr only in wealthy countries? Are there people in Afghanistan that have anorexia?
ds41980 1 week ago
@ds41980 Good question. I'm sure this problem can happen "anywhere" in the world. After all, it is a mental issue. Usually we only hear about 6 legged or 2 headed babies from these 3rd world countries. I doubt if we'll ever know because all attention is focused on war and nothing else. Broadcast corporations are a business. There's money to be made. They'd rather feed on topics like who's blowing the shit out of each other.
Cheers.
TheRantingCabbie 1 week ago 2
@ds41980 it happens all over the world, it just doesn't have exposure. of course you won't have problems like binge eating in wealthy countries, but stuff like BDD does happen everywhere, maybe less common. though i'd say it's possible it's even more common in war countries since there's more stress on people but who knows, there's no studies on the subject so yeah.

Instead of listening and paying attention, you judge like stupid sheeps.

ivanlagrossemoule 3 weeks ago
@Corrupt5358 Mental illness is not logical. Have you ever encountered someone who, for example, sees his or herself as fat, when he or she really isn't? In some cases, it's just a cry for attention, but in many others it's because the person TRULY sees themselves in this way. This is along the same vein...obviously this is much more severe.

If we as humans didn't make each other feel 'ugly' then there wouldn't be all these issues of ppl worrying abt their looks and wanting surgery in a bid to try and fix them. Most of us are to blame cos we are constantly putting others down based on how they look.
xane1990 3 weeks ago
@xane1990 that's just life. fact is, some people are better looking than others. And people put others down. the problem isn't with the average person, the problem here lies with these people who aren't really ugly but allow themselves to be trapped in this delusion that they are.

It was relaunched directly after the war to persecute and silence concentration camp survivors.

if you're body functions normally; if you're reasonably healthy; you should consider your self lucky to have a healthy, normally functioning body. think of people born with birth defects who HAVE to go for surgery several times to SAVE THEIR LIVES. think of those with no limbs who get prosthetic legs or arms AND GO OUT AND ENJOY LIFE REGARDLESS OF THE LOOKS THEY GET FROM "NORMAL" PEOPLE. think of how lucky you are that your body is doing what it SHOULD do.

MeandmySara 1 month ago 26
@MeandmySara there is no such thing as 'ugly'! 'Ugly' is something society has created when they found 'the look' and many believe if they don't have it they're 'ugly'. Everyone has those little things about themselves that they aren't quite happy with but those things are trivial and don't mean anything. You're beautiful, just like every other person!
campcoskuro 3 weeks ago 53
@campcoskuro If you're talking about physical attractiveness, it absolutely has biological determinants and we have been discriminating based on them since the dawn of time (how do you think our ancestors decided which mates would be ideal for producing offspring with?) The ideal of beauty formed by 'society' did not spring out of thin air. It's certainly PC to pretend that "everyone is beautiful" but all this mindset does is mask insecurity with false pride.
xXPinkGoddessXx 2 weeks ago
@xXPinkGoddessXx in other words, you think I'm insecure. Nope. What I'm saying is F**K 'the look'. I have a fat ass, big nose, and thick eyebrows and ya know what?...I'm sexy as hell! that whole selective breeding thing sucks in my opinion. "The future generation must look like this!" give me a break.
campcoskuro 2 weeks ago
@campcoskuro No, in other words, you are trying to pretend that a universal standard of beauty (not to be confused with style) does not exist. And "that whole selective breeding thing" is the reason you have advanced intelligence, a highly immune biological system, and many other traits that essentially make you human.
xXPinkGoddessXx 2 weeks ago
@xXPinkGoddessXx i thought you were talking about the 'style' aspect and the physical appearance. My bad. I do know that selective breeding gave us higher intelligence and whatnot. But I just can't see why people in this show (regardless of how they appear) would hide. I know for these specific people it's an illness but I mean average people.
campcoskuro 2 weeks ago
@xXPinkGoddessXx You would have an argument based purely on the genetic side IF the traits being selected and glorified as beautiful weren't in many cases detrimental to reproductive health and viability of offspring. For example extreme thinness, large fake breasts, tan skin, all these things can have health impacts. "The look" has been determined by the media for as long as I've been alive and probably my parents as well.
HeatherC19 2 weeks ago
@HeatherC19 Extreme thinness is not glorified anywhere except in the high fashion industry, which in no way markets itself to the public majority. Most successful Hollywood sex symbols are not underweight and have curves. Fake breasts are not glorified either; large, firm breasts are, and implants are simply a by-product of that. The fact that some desired traits CAN have health impacts is also irrelevant to my argument, as the unconscious biological drive toward them still exists.
xXPinkGoddessXx 2 weeks ago
@xXPinkGoddessXx When you're shown something every day of your life that you turn on the tv, see an ad on the net or walk outside and see a billboard, and things are marketed specifically to gear you towards a certain image... it may be unconscious for the "sheep" but for the people who made that image for you to take in it sure as fuck is conscious. Traits valued now are not the same as traits valued historically.
HeatherC19 2 weeks ago
@xXPinkGoddessXx Unless you mean to suggest that humans have changed so drastically in the past 100 years that our entire reproductive programming should change as well? The reality is these traits are chosen by the media. They choose what looks good and they bombard you with it every day you live "on the grid". Its going to influence people, and indeed it will create unrealistic standards.
HeatherC19 2 weeks ago
@HeatherC19 I'll reply to you in PM as my word limit here has been reduced.
xXPinkGoddessXx 2 weeks ago
@xXPinkGoddessXx
I disagree wholeheartedly with your statement about extreme thinness. That is marketing to the general public (at least the US), but we *clearly* aren't adhering to that.
lavinder11 2 weeks ago
@lavinder11 If it's marketed to the general public why does the vast majority of commercial advertising use models who are of medium or slender weight, and curvy?
xXPinkGoddessXx 1 week ago
@xXPinkGoddessXx
What does "medium or slender weight" mean to you? The only commercials I can think of that use "average" sized women is for Dove and weight loss pills.
lavinder11 1 week ago
@lavinder11 It means simply, not underweight. Not noticeably or drastically thin. Can you please link me to an advertisement unrelated to high fashion that uses only underweight models?
xXPinkGoddessXx 1 week ago
@campcoskuro Oh barf, you're only saying that to try to make your life sound more dramatic.
zaxopify 2 weeks ago
@campcoskuro If everyone was beautiful....everyone would just be average. But there are some ugly people and some gorgeous people. You can't have a 10/10 without having a 1/10. Without short people there wouldn't be tall people. Without skinny people we wouldn't have fat people.
Feminists have simply convinced women to empower each other instead of being honest with one another.
cadillacportis 2 weeks ago
