I guess the assumption is made that no mathematicians are ever likely to read that book and spot the glaring inaccuracies. Although I don't think that's an excuse really.
Although for some reason, they printed what looked like an italic capital pi, instead of a script lower case one - which typically means something entirely different. So they didn't even get the letter right.
By the title, I thought the book would be like "This is a table. A common garden bench, with attached table. This is a kitchen table." and so on and so forth. HOW WRONG I WAS!
You're saying pi isn't equal to 22/7?
twerpy2020 3 years ago
22/7 isn't anywhere near 4, so yes.

I'd imagine with your musical sensibilities, counting and such like must come to your mind fairly often. So I am glad about that.

I had that book when I was back in primary school!! hahaha. Oh wow... the memories.
sezzabearz 3 years ago
It didn't seem a very good book for teaching children anything - then again most things that primary schools have isn't very good.

Pi approximation day is gonna be so sweet.

Blates. I didn't actually do anything for Pi day so I have to make an effort on approximation day.

That would be a pretty epic title. Someone should make that book. Pictures of tables from all around the world!
