Yea the zoom sucked badly o my aiptek HD

In fact i did a demo of it and at the end of the demo i tried to work the zoom and well watch my demo of the camera and judge for yourself

Digital Zoom for a Camcorder = fail.

Optical Zoom is what you need. The Aiptek 1080p costs around the same price as the Aiptek 720p on Amazon. The Aipteck 1080p is the BEST HD camcorder around the $150 price range.

But if you're looking for some hardcore HD filming, get a Canon HF100 $550-$600 on Amazon. It includes a Cinema 24p mode which makes your video really look like film quality.

The noise during zoom is NOT a defect, but a side effect of the camera being so small with parts close. The noise is barely noticeable as well. Someone wanting to shoot a pro video might be bothered, but then again, they'd use another audio system to mic pro sound. They could probably engineer it to be 100% silent, but in that price range, they didn't. I think you should actually use the cameras, take real footage and hear them for your self before giving a review. Otherwise the review is ok.

well, if you have problems with editing the .mov files, use a different editor, or use mencoder or ffmpeg to convert then to an lossless [like mjpeg and ms Wav] format that your editing suit can take.

I use GNU/Linux and CinelerraCV to do my editing.

the GO-HD has a internal/external drive for a sd or sdhc card. In memory is minimal, unless firmware upgrade increasing to 64 meg 30 secs hd quailty... option A card reader, option B loading driver to pc and using a usb2.0 interface cable. ifyou do not have a USB port then you'll need to purchase.

The Aiptek Go-Hd is a .Mov format not of the older models. and at a given time Total extreme media came with this. Sony vegas 6 if can be updated should. you'll not get Hi def so I recommend a different program, I use Magix movie pro editer 12, 14 is out and 15 will be here in Feb 2009. I at times use SUPER C I also just use magix it does it all. thank you

love to say you're correct. the Aip A-HD and GO-HD with internal memory was 4 mb giving you about 4 secs of hi def video, or a few snaps. With Firmware update it increased to 30 secs of hi def.

not srguing but agreeing .MOV files are Apple, that is what Aiptek claimes, there is alos a Mac file in the cam of its firmware that needs updatingfor it to correctly work on this model if it does not and must be talked with there tech to recieve it if not out of luck of course the cd etc is not to the liking very basic and pc friendly

The websire claimed it works with Mac/Apple - It does not.

No download software or driver avail for it on their website, and the enclosed cd is worthless and useless.

Website claimed it has Image stabilization - It DOES NOT and the website no longer lists that..

It needs a wrist strap, not included, because the camera is slippery to handle and operate, you'll easily drop it.

Hey, great review! I'm still thinking of the Sanyo HD2, but this GO-HD price tag is attractive, and the low light performance is actually supposed to be better, amazingly enough, cosidering the price. HD1000 is really nice, but expensive.

I've not had a single problem with my a-hd; it works great and if I really need sound, I just simultaneously record on an old mp3 player with a mike and then dub it in on Windows Movie Maker; it works very well. You can get media coder for free to convert to DVD, wma, mpeg, divx, etc.

I make mistakes and be happy to correct the Go does not come with Internal memory of a greater size, and will need to purchase a external memory, you will not recive any external memory unless marked on the box if it has a bonus pack. as you know this cam will now have a double sized battery for twice the power range

I got this camera (very good) for Christmas, and now it doesn't work. I accidentally dropped it from about 2 feet. If i plug it in, the light glows red and then green when charged. But when i try to turn it on, nothing happens. Can anyone help?

confusing question  what are they, White balance auto sunny cloudy tungston reg light bulb 4 of them when sunny you can go to sunny will give a lilshade , cloudy will give a lil light etc, leave auto camcorderwill work its magic. when battery is beingreplaced , in the mean time read the manual.
