DSMs are first gen and second gen eclipses, talons, and laser, doesnt matter if its turbo or non turbo, but because it was made by Diamond Star Motors. which no longer where making the cars together.

uh just about every vehicle manufacture relies on some sort of "vtec" whether its VORTEC with chevy or mivec with the newer mitsubishi's and you get get easily 260 to the wheels with 10 pounds of boost. and with 12 pounds on your gst you're not getting 235 to the wheels unless the engine is built or something or very well tuned because no car really gets as much to the wheels as the manufacturers say. i will admit that to this day honda cant beat the buildable ability of eclipses but it takes
mivec has the same effect as vtec genius. mivec is used at high rpm's which boosts its power. just like vtec. and don't go look up on the internet some shit to talk shit about because we all know mivec "essentially" does the same thing as vtec.

You are absolutely right. Most of these "terms" are really a marketing tool to sell. Some engines raise the cam profile electroniclly, by oil pressure, or both. And achieve their goal in a different approach.
@jefferydclark vortec has to do with the way the air-fuel mixture goes into the cylinder. vtec has to do with the valve timing. two totaly different things.
i know what vtec means...i'm just saying most vehicle manufacturers make some sort of "better" engine with that type stuff..and i was saying vtec wasn't such a great deal esp if you have a gsr and your secondary butterflies arent wired up like mine..pisses me off..

the downside would be though with turbo on a na car you cant really wind the boost up or else it would blow up......if you build a turbo motor an a na motor side by side the turbo engine would usually make a lot more difference with head work since their heads dont flow as well as na from factory......after a full build both the na motor an the turbo motor would make around the same power

if the gsr had turbo of as small as 5 pounds of boost it would beast you any day. i kinda want an eclipse though as a project car but i'd want an AWD.

i hope you know that any high performance na car would go real fast with a turbo.....simple reson coz they have high compression an a very good flowing head from factory since their made to perform without a turbo

the downside would be though with turbo on a na car you cant really wind the boost up or else it would blow up......if you build a turbo motor an a na motor side by side the turbo engine would usually make a lot more difference with head work since their heads dont flow as well as na from factory......after a full build both the na motor an the turbo motor would make around the same power
