Update - The Florida DOT has since changed the sign at Hwy 40 and U.S. 19 back to Hwy 19/98, the way it was in the past. Drivers became confused when the FDOT renamed the interesection SR55, the old name for U.S. 19/98
@thenewscaster1 I used to live there, i promise you the driver was traveling at a high rate of speed and should have gotten a ticket. From US19 to that ramp is about 10 miles of narrow two lane road, most of it mangroves on both sides. You can see the withlachooce river on your left driving along there. Trust me, speed has always been a problem on that strech of road but the locals know when to slow down lol. That was driver error pure and simple
As shown in the final scene the truck and trailer were at the water's edge, but at high tide the truck was in about 2 feet of water. Levy county, about a week later installed rumble strips and signs approaching the ramp. To my knowledge the county did not pay anything.
WHY WOULD I WANT TO HEAR YOU STUPID FUCKS YAPPING. FUCK OFF

So what happened though? Were the truck and trailer completely submerged? Did the city pay him?

Oh ok. Thank you. I saw the rig just in the water and thought maybe he had been pulled/towed out up to that point. Thanks for clarifying. :o)

Ya, a dead end or no outlet or warning lights just might be a good idea there. Especially with all the bridges and the like preceeding the launch.
