I come to the realization that what one day were considered a group of intelectual and multi-cultural Otaku have now become children who appreciate over-sexualized and deliberately gratuitous fanservice in the art of Anime. I smile, and decide that I'd rather fucking die.

@RebornAleph It's not that. This anime's genre is comedy, and there is barely any of this "fan-service" you speak of. Animes like this aren't meant to be highly intelectual or make the viewers think too much, it has a pretty relaxed laid-back story. There are still detectives, dramas and other kind of serious anime out there - it is not like this anime is a replacement for ones like Evangelion. It's just a different genre, that's all.

@CrazyLirik There are comedic anime that was clever to boot. FLCL comes to mind. I can understand that comedic anime such as FLCL is silly, but only understandable to inteligent people. I'm not used to "the moron-version" comedies and endless fanservice we have nowadays.

Not that I feel it's the anime companies' fault. I guess the target demographics changed to squeeing chicks and premature ejaculators, and it influences the development.

It's just sad. And it makes me feel old. That's all.

@RebornAleph Completely different genre of animes. My all time favorite anime is Neon Genesis Evangelion, and I still enjoyed this series very much. Hell I even loved Strike Witches. This scene doesn't describe the whole tone of the anime. This scene and setting was more of a spin on the whole "Genshiken" phase some animes take today.
