MEN ARE AWESOME AND YOU KNOW WHAT I REALLY HATE IS WOMEN IN POLITICS AND WOMEN AS PRINCIPALS, EXECUTIVE MANAGERS, ETC. AND WOMEN TRYING TO GET INTO FOOTBALL. WTF?

  • @Yellow4494 You are a total idiot! Women ran the countries while men were at War! Do your homework stupid!

  • @Yellow4494 I feel bad for you"woman" i feel bad that you are such a hater, women can do it all you've seen them, society is just makes it hard for them to achieve such goals, i guess its depends on how YOUR raised. but you'll see, women will conquer all "WE RUN THE WORLD"'beyonce said so herself

  • @wecrazybaby Oh PLEASE. If you were a real feminist you wouldn't give a shit what that stuck up, conceited diva bitch Beyonce has to say.

  • And yes, I am man and I'm wise.

And I'm impressed by great music made by feminists' in the 1970s.

  • What? Is that a microphone? Shouldn't it be a spatula or frying pan? And, oh, whats that? Is that a stage? Shouldn't it be a kitchen? What the fuck?

  • Jackass.......you must have a "weenie wick", if you have to diminish women....News Flash jocko...you wouldn't be here without one.....so now whose really in charge of the future of the human race?

  • @TheMattiene hahahaha u think its "weenie?" Well come over AND ILL SHOW YOU HOW WEEENIE ITS IS HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA NOT VERY WEENIE U WILL FIND.

P.S.- I am the FUTURE of the HUMAN race, "jacko." u r just poop, go cook a kitchen or cry stupo face.

  • You had to have been "already a woman" in 1975 to get this song.

  • This song always make laugh. lol...

  • i rember watching my my gf make dinner while i was watching tv and i was just peekin over the couch watching her - and theres a radio in the kitchen cuz she likes to sing and this song came on - i thought it was pretty funny, then i asked to gimme a beer hahaha

  • my mum loves this song

  • i love this song it just makes you feel good...

  • I am not trying to pick on you, but NO COPYWRITE INTENDED means she has no rights on this video. I think what you mean is NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED. For the love of what is holy, why don't people investigate what they need to post? You didn't even bother to lookup or do a spell check to see if COPYRIGHT was spelled correctly.

  • @hotshit1960 They don't care anymore. They are under educated and ignorant. The gene pool is in the crapper.

  • I'm all for equal rights, and recognition of talents of both genders. This song, however, is terrible. Not because of the message, but because it is just so very badly written and performed.

  • Women we are strong and smart and amazing but if you are going to the feminist part of youtube, might i suggest:

    DON'T FEED THE TROLLS!

  • great song given me strength over the years

  • A top lady, still at 70

  • Just saw her on tele 70 years old n still smokin hot

  • a song with a great message and well sung/written--a pleasure to listen to on every level--in other words--a classic.

  • Helen Reddy - proudly Australian! Keep singing Helen!

  • SEX AND THE CITY 2

  • This song has over the decades been my anchor and my strength and it continues to toughen the steel in my backbone. At age 77, I need it more than ever. Sh.

  • That's a weird looking kitchen.

  • I am only half a man without my honey =) Go ladies go! Just don't count all of us men as stumbling stones. Some of us rejoice in your strength!

  • @MrRockinChair65 That's so sweet!

  • @MrRockinChair65 You ROCK! Love me a strong man. My man is the same way.

  • @MrRockinChair65 your the sweet one nice!

  • @MrRockinChair65 As a man who was raised by a widowed woman who raised five children -- got them through college and for the most part fairly successful -- I will amen -- your statement. My mom did that or started to do that about the time that Helen Reddy had her #1 tune of I Am Woman (my father died when I was 8 the summer before the tune was #1 in the states.) And both my mom & Helen Reddy was one of the reason why I became such an ardent male feminist (plus remembering the words of

  • @sneeyize45 Eleanor Roosevelt (who my mom was inspired by) about the rights of every person. And Helen's I Am Woman might have been written about and for the women's rights movement -- but it has inspired other movements, for elderly rights, for the rights of displaced people, for the rights of the disabled (I'm one of those as well) and for the rights of immigrants (I wouldn't be surprised at this writing if it isn't inspiring to those in the Occupy Wall Street movement.) So, yes, Helen's

  • @sneeyize45 song is recognized by many men as being more important and more valued than many songs have been in my lifetime and more for than just the women's rights movements. Thank you, Helen!

  • @sneeyize45 Also, I would include the people fighting for the rights of gay, lesbian & transgendered community (not a part of that group, but I have brother who is and know people who are) and also environmental rights. One thing to think about how this song inspired me to make a change to or help bring about a change is that back in 1987 they were still asking people on job applications their marital status -- well, that changed after me & many others wrote to Congress to outlaw that.

  • @sneeyize45 And believe it or not, there are some younger people, in these economic times, who tell me they are shocked to have learned that as late as the late-1980's government and businesses were asking people's marital status -- because they can't any longer -- it is NOW illegal to do that in job applications -- because your marital status has no bearing on whether or NOT you can do a or perform a job. And that is a way Helen's song (plus my mom's example & Eleanor) inspired me!

  • @sneeyize45 TOO MANY POSTS..NO ONE CARES.

  • @sneeyize45 good on your mum !!! :-)

  • @MrRockinChair65 Jesus dude.

  • Anyone remember the reference to a Helen Reddy album in the Cheech & Chong "The All New Let's Make A Dope Deal" sketch? LOL☺

  • Thanks Miss Rubber Bunny. Great name for a liberated woman. We are strong and not threatened by previous constrictions. Love ya

  • I'm a girl and that song although it has a good meaning was just ugly!

  • Omg that was really awful!

  • Too all us women. May we be strong, invincible, and let nothing keep us down. We gotta stick together!

  • This song gives me chills :)

  • 歌詞がいい♪

  • i dedicate this to all single parents who struggle to make ends meet

  • If I had to, I could do anything. Iam strong. I am woman. Thank you Helen

  • *copyRIGHT

  • IAM WOMAN TOO

  • brill

  • I am woman hear me roar....i love it when my hubby kicks me to the floor....

  • As a guy and former boy I have always loved this song. It's about finding strength.

  • seriously, fuck feminism, it's a joke

  • @purplehaze216 More women than men graduate from college now. 50% of women in marriages where both spouses are professionals earn more than their husbands. Feminism made that possible. If you felt secure you wouldn't have taken the time to find this song and post your derisions.

  • @strawberryseason 1. because colleges are much more eager to accept women

    2. that's not true, cite it

  • @purplehaze216 Colleges are not "more eager to accept women." More women are applying and attending, it's that simple. The stat about women in marriages where both are professionals was told to me by my friend who read it in Business Week several years ago. My friend found it relevant because she is a computer programmer who makes double what her husband makes.

  • @strawberryseason your friend told you? she was probably lying to prove a point.

  • @purplehaze216 no, YOU"RE a joke

  • LOL.

  • @DukeDevilRoblox LMFAO!

  • Didnt realise how much sheer guts this woman had X

  • I used to play this song for my daughters so they would understand how important they were!! They became very strong women!! :-) Thank you Helen!!

  • I AM MAN AND I AM STRONGER. Nah kidding, watched Sex and the City 2 today and cracked up when they started singing this lol

  • This song is my reminder when things get tough. We are stronger, smarter, and more capable than ever. I am 55 and am very proud to have been in the movement while raising a wonderful daughter who is also a wonderful wife and mother.

  • I love her and this song and also I love Whitney Houston's Renedition of I'm Every woman.

  • BEAUTIFUL! Thanks!

  • 36 people either hav no taste or are men

  • What is strange, is that in 1978 she worked with Gene Simmons (probably the biggest ego and somewhat of a chauvinist) on the earth. I am woman, but i will do it for money!

  • Feminist anthem

  • Bigdon62 thanks mate

  • paul elam brought me here! down there on the flooor, on the floor, on the floor, on the floor, switch!

  • Question. Has anything change ? If. So how ?

  • @Jackupnow Best not make too much comment here lest I be accosted by babes from Emily's List or alike, a fate worse than being tasked with providing comfort and succour to eunuchs who wish to look forlornly back at happier times. Catchy tune though, but not one of my karaoke favs it has to be said.

  • I agree with equal rights for all people. I am just upset about the expectation and proliferation of the dual income family unit.

  • I am man, hear me snore

  • @BobbyL5757 i think women are equal to men and deserve to be treated as such. i have the right to determine my life, noone has the right to do it for me. i don't want to rule over men, just dont' want to be ruled over. the women's movement has done great things, but some bad things have taken place also. i'm not a woman who believes that somehow women are better than men, i think we have the propensity to be just as bad. i also figure we have to live together.

  • This song is going to played @ my funeral. It's my banner I live by.

  • 1:15

  • 1:16

  • My grandmother was a great funny lady had this song played at her funeral

  • All women have to be in the kitchen bitch

  • @cygod1 yeah, waiting on the man to cook her dinner.

  • @cygod1 Why are you so nasty, that's just rude!

  • @cherylleone He is being what we call a "troll" Somebody who makes stupid comments simply to enjoy the distress it causes others. When you respond to these people it is called "feeding the troll." Usually, if ignored, these poor miserable excuses for excess oxygen consumers go and verbally defecate at some other location.

  • Get in da fuckin kitchen bitch

  • @cygod1 ` She's got a chef,silly..

  • @cygod1

    I think someone's a little intimidated... ;)

  • Guys, think of it this way; Before she will submit to you, you must submit to her first. When it says in scripture,'Wives, Submit to your husbands', that's not a right, that's a privilege you must work for.To all you losers who would misuse The Word Of God for your selfish purposes, I'm pretty sure that God Has a place in Hell for you.

  • @kja427 exactly. men who love to yell at us about submitting, ignore the part where they are submit to us and love us as christ loved the church. it isn't supposed to be an excuse to rule over us and boss us around. thanks.

  • sex and the city :p

  • @frafras1234 indeed! :D

  • Thanks Helen!!

  • Check out Vanessa Amorosi`s cover of this in honour of helen reddy. It is increadible!!

  • Love this song. Helped me enormously after I separated from my abusive husband last year. Thank god for women like Helen Reddy and other feminists who worked to make it possible for women like me to leave abusive partners. I am eternally grateful to the feminists who made changes to our society which meant that I was believed, I was supported, and that I had had sufficient education and job experience to support myself and my children when I had to.

  • @MsThirdDaughter Congratulations for taking that step. I too left an abusive husband 11 yrs, who had me thinking I would never make on my own. By the grace of God and the help of some very kind people, and my determination to prove him wrong, we'er doing fine. I applaud women with your courage, and pray that other women in such situations will gain the strength to walk away and know they are not alone.

  • @olqueencole Thank you. Glad you're doing well. I am OK. Life is hard, but still nowhere near near as hard as it was when I was dealing with my abusive ex-husband.

  • @MsThirdDaughter good for you may GOD keep you strong for you and your children.x

  • @411ladyK Thank you. We are well.

  • @MsThirdDaughter hugs!

I am really happy for you.

Iwent the route with abusive moron too.

Fear is their greatest ally whether its a business, a government or a person.

put the light on the table and never let it dim

    take care

  • @malignantsweetness Thank you. You're right, fear is the hardest thing to deal with. I thought getting out would be so much harder than it was.

  • @MsThirdDaughter My girlfriend just sent me this because I'm in the same situation. Have you heard Fat Boy Slim's That Old Pair Of Jeans? I put it on repeat on my media player. And you're right, these women made it possible. If it weren't for Susan B. and Elizabeth Caddy Stanton, I wouldn't even be able to vote. Margaret Sanger gave me the option to choose what to do with my body. (She wasn't a racist, they're misquotes.) Ladies like these let us know not to be silent.

  • @Rilriia Thank you. I hadn't heard the Fat Boy Slim song, but I have now, and I like it. My go-to songs during my break-up were this one, Gloria Gaynor's 'I will survive', and 'Survivor' by Destiny's Child. My 4 year old still sometimes sings 'I will survive' when we walk to preschool. The thing that most got to me after my traumatic separation - and it was pretty traumatic, he almost killed us both - was how much support there was. And I know I have feminism to thank for that.

  • @MsThirdDaughter Aww <3

  • @MsThirdDaughter I can't agree with you more!!!! This song was my Mom's and I "anthem" I'll never forget when she and I fixed the car when it wouldn;t start one day. Afterwards, we blarred the song on my then tape player. Love the song and you for loving it so much! HEAR ME ROOOAAARR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @MsThirdDaughter just because your husband can't give you an orgasm doesn't mean he's abusing you

  • @purplehaze216 I shouldn't reply but I'm going to. I don't need my husband to give me an orgasm. Quite capable of that myself. And the sorts of behaviors that my husband engaged in that I considered abuse, included physical violence, verbal abuse, and threats of suicide.

  • Great song, from a time when the women's movement was full of potential. How sad and disappointing it resulted in women by the millions occupying grey cubicles and dumping their infants in daycare.

  • to the guy with the macho pig comment: stop being so retarded! Go back to the 50's and be happy.

  • Song has cool chord changes.

  • I have to agree with furpurr. Some of these comments are so disgusting that they shouldn't have an audience (which is what they want).

  • SAW1110: as the poster of the video, can you not delete the fools in the comment section? for example, cdb8, taliesenTV, istmrnastytime87, omfgn0wai, slightlyoutofit...who cannot post without being vulgar, demeaning, insulting, or otherwise immature. PLEASE?? thanks! ;)

  • @Taliesen - you are white and ugly with a man dressed as a troll for your wife, people like you should have been sterilized/castrated at birth and then served a penis or pussy sandwich daily to wash your mouth out with, you obviously can't stop stupid in the US either , you are doomed to hear Helen Reddy sing at your funeral dickface

  • This song is fucking retarded bitches belong in the kitchen cooking and cleaning and let's not forget the most important thing they're cum dupsters

  • @ITSMRNASTYTIME87 You're fat.

    Troll is officially trolled.

  • @Omfgn0wai damn you must be the most retarded person ever youre fat that shit dosent even make sense you couldnt think of anything else i bet youre one of those fat bitches that have like 20 cats and is never going to get married whats that trolled bullshit go suck rwjs dick only a person with a 8yr old sense of humor would find his shit funny

  • Get the kettle on and make me a cup of tea love.

Then you can push the Hoover round.

  • A classic, and yes it was in sex in the city 2. But that is not the point. Listen to the words. You'll either get it or not. Helen Reddy was a woman before her time xxx

  • A classic, and yes it was in sex in the city 2. But that is not the point. Listen to the words. You'll either get it or not. Helen Reddy was a woman before her time xxx

  • Thumbs up if you came here because of Sex and the City 2 :)

  • dam all you people are pathetic arguing over this stupid shit

  • Good to know how the original sounds... she can sing

  • Love it forever!!

  • Helen Reddy is Australian.

  • I am woman here me roar... lmao ... No offence... But that's pretty funny.

You're walking down a street, when all the sudden a lady from across the street says: RAWR! LMAO!

  • this is one of our spring concert songs

  • 23 people dislike women!

  • @marsbar1965 Get back to the farm(with the other pigs)

  • this the song off sex and the city 2 :)

  • Never noticed that she is a tad annoying before. Liked her in Pete's Dragon though

  • She was born in Melbourne Australia.... :-) I am Woman and she's Australian... :-)

  • Such an inspiring song, what a talented woman

  • Woman these days

  • She sounds terrific and the memories this brings back ... quite wonderful!

  • @Mrjp161 Scared of women I see. Too bad, your cowardness will prevent you from being a good person.

  • @Jessethegoodwitch What made you think he was afraid? womane des deyz

  • @pampamproductions hmm thats sexist

  • @shazu1990 What? woman these days? Cry moar

  • SHE makes me think of Ellen Degeneres

  • WAY TO SCRATCHY

  • Always reminds me of female Homer Simpson.

  • xDDDDD

  • This song stills stands the test of time. Yes she is Woman. Women have the power. GOD Bless the WOMAN.

  • @laarbe Yes, bless the woman, the one who took the first step to fucking the world up. If anything GOD bless BOTH, the men took your rights and gave your rights. The women didn't do anything but bitch until they got it. If it was necessary you'd all be sent to camps for reproduction and thats it, besides doing that and bitching you girls don't do SHIT. Don't waste your time on replying, go get me a sandwich.

  • @Laudividni777 ...you're totally correct...those that were equal have always behaved as such...the others just bitched until society overcorrected in favour of women...try getting an equitable deal in divorce court or try getting fair treating after some hormonally deficient twit screams "sexual harassment"...women were equal in soviet russia and were put into heavy labour gangs...they didn't like it...our society needs to return to equal treatment for both sexes...

  • @jethro035181 It's sad, some women protested a commanders funeral just because women aren't allowed to become special forces. They need to learn their place, I believe in equality but at this point I wouldn't mind if they had no rights at all.

  • @Laudividni777 You just totally contradicted yourself. You're an idiot!

  • @Laudividni777

Your comment amuses me. My suggestion would be to learn to live in a world where women have power, and not only that, but they know how to use it. If you just learn to accept it, you would be much better off. No woman should have to run herself ragged around the house just to compensate for a man's pure laziness. But if you choose not to accept this, that is your perogative. You will have a bitter existence, for the year of the woman has finally arrived. Have a nice day. :)

  • @tinmanluver35 Hah, the mans laziness? The man is a provider, the woman is the partner and supporter of the provider. This isn't the year of the woman, this is the year of the children. It's also a choice, women have every right to go out there and do what they want, they also have the choice to stay home and help their partner. However, women have more rights than men and they still want more? They have the upper hand in trials and advantages in jobs that don't require labor. Have a nice day.

  • @Laudividni777

You're right, the woman does have a choice to do what she wants with her life, but women do not have more rights than men. Women are discouraged from jobs, such as a fireman or cop, because they are seen as too weak or incapable. They are also classified as "overly emotional, weak, whiny" and more when often times this is just a dumb stereotype. And yes, women must compensate for men's laziness. All of this I have experienced firsthand, so don't even try to tell me otherwise.

  • @tinmanluver35 Lol, you've been hanging around with the wrong men then. Races have said you shouldn't let one persons stereotype consume the rest. Women, have said you shouldn't demonize a woman's actions based on those who were before her. Here you are, saying ALL men are lazy just because you've encountered maybe one or two. You think you're better than any of us just because you "care" a little more? One, women don't have to compensate, they can just LEAVE. Two, it isn't a SP, It was true.

  • @Laudividni777

I didn't say all men were lazy. My point was directed at ones who believe the woman should do everything while they do nothing. All men are not like that. And I also never said that I was better than anybody. I just don't like being told what I should or shouldn't do because of my gender. If a woman chooses to stay at home and allow her husband to rule the house, then that's her choice. But she should never feel like that is her "responsibility" simply because she's a woman.

  • @tinmanluver35 Be glad you don't live in a house hold like that, now be quiet about it and don't complain so damn much? You're living in the past, get with the times.

  • @Laudividni777

You're telling me to get with the times? Seriously? Gosh, you're frustrating. I am not complaining, just standing up for women in general. And don't tell me to be qiuet. ;)

  • @tinmanluver35 If you want women to have respect, raise them to not be a bunch of teenage brats. I remember the start of 2000, Women were perfect, mature, not selfish and had decent chances at jobs. Ofcourse, I'm also talking about the ones that act a certain way but as I was saying, women were at the top 2000, slowly they're losing rights because the women of this generation are getting dumber. Take heed, our teenagers decide our tomorrow, which means we're pretty much fucked.

  • @Laudividni777

As far as teenagers deciding our tomorrow, that goes for boys and girls. All teenagers are getting worse and more lazy, not just females. But there are still some, male and female, who choose to educate themselves in order to have a productive lifestyle. You cannot blame the deterioration of a generation solely on women.
