One of the most talented singers in music history, not with us anymore.I never got to see carl wayne live but hes a singer that ill never forget. He had talent in abundance, and he knew how to put his songs to the crowd. RIP CW 1943-2004. He will be one of the frontmen in heavens group.. He has the voice of an angel..
Great song,Carl Wayne really nice guy met him at Blackburns Cavendish club when he had gone solo, he was sat behind us watching the act that was on stage, but he happily chatted to us about the Move, and his own career,a real gentleman, fond memories regards. John c
Carl....always looking so happy, seems like he was just a great guy. Blows the mind for an American Move fan to think of how they never made it over here. They so should have toured the States when they were in their first line up.
@leonaofficial - I think you misunderstand...Perhaps you're retarded. My point was simple. I would have rather heard a "live" performance rather than a shitty lip-synch (whether it's a lip-synch to the 'original' recording or not). Get it? It's actually pretty simple - and yes, I know the diff between this and the original. Regardless, Carl Wayne was a great singer and if he wanted to take a crack at this song, no problem. I would have loved to hear his 'real' voice on this one.
@floormonkeys Sorry you have a problem both with watching lip-synched videos and psychologically given the nasty tone of your message. Putting your problems aside many low budget TV progs do not allow for live performances for production and/or financial reasons so most of us ( not you ) would rather see lip synched performances than none at all .
Wow, thought this had been lost. I'm the guitarist. Carl was a lovely person and a good friend. It was an honour to work with him .I miss him very much.
@DJB403 And you kept right on playing while the back stage was on fire! You are one dedicated guitarist. I wish I had had a chance to see a Move performance with Carl Wayne.
OK it's lip-synch, but it's not the original track theyre playing over (drumming's totally different and the originally woodwind is synth on this one). Probably recorded before the show.
Why's it fantastc. It's a lip-synch to the original track with a guitarist playing over top to make it seems like it's not a lip-synch. Yechhh! Let's hear ya for real!
@floormonkeys Try to engage brain before fingers. The lead vocals on the original hit were by Roy Wood with additional vocals by Carl Wayne. This lipsync performance by the late Carl Wayne it to a track with solely Carl Wayne on lead vocals. Pity you dont know the difference . Yechhh ! let`s hear it for floormonkey`s ill-informed comment for real!
@leonaofficial ... On the original, Roy Wood sang the 2nd verse and the bridge - the rest of the lead vocal, the lion's share, was Carl Wayne. So, more accurately, it is a co-lead vocal.
