  • yes, well. ,

  • Everyone slags this off, but it REALLY does look like a fender custom shop guitar... I think the real idiots are the ones who fork out MONEY for craftsmen who do what these guys are doing! :)

  • Jerk offs, No really..

  • Looks like the lead singer from Elbow haha

  • You all need to calm down, its just a POS Squire guitar. I wouldn't care if they used it as fire wood.

  • Morons !!!

  • should of taken the strap button out ! whooops ! guitar might look a little cooler but its a lot more fucked .... if u ever wanna play it standing up

  • Now I know how to relic mine!!!

  • you guys are absolute dicks

  • that dont look like a relic the marks are to consistent

  • Im on the opposite end I keep my 1964 Stratocaster in mint condition even after playing it since 1968! Differant strokes for differant folks...

  • @yumyumsashimi I dont have such an old guitar, but I can agree with you. I want to keep my guitar/guitars in mint condition; although, I think that a maple neck does kind of look cool when they have (through long use and playing) reliced NATURALLY so that they ahve that darker look. You can always tell when a guitar is naturally reliced or not. If its reliced I want it from playing,NOT FROM IDIOTS LIKE YOU GUYS!!!

  • Peter Townsend do better

  • Stupid monkeys

  • i know a beter way to relic. play your guitar for 50 years.................. mmm would you call that a relic or a loved and played antique.

  • i'm a fender strat kind of guy i got 3600 euros ready to toss around bottom line every single custom shop strat sucks ASS the relic thing is for idiots , i hope fender changes its tune , bottom line i'm buying a 57 custom shop black beauty

  • imbecil

  • I knew I could be a Luthier !!

  • the body wood has a nice sound ;)

  • I do not agree on making a new guitar look old but I have a 75 Jr that I refinished (different colour) and the opposite ideal applies here.

It just does it a disservice to make it look new when it is a 36 year old guitar that was originally player worn so I lightly reliced it again to make it suit its age.

Relicing DOES have its benefits but it depends on the application

  • Relicing is a joke on all the idiots who buy them. Process: Take all you B/C/D/E/F/G grade bodies and necks. Have the guitar assembled by the least able employee. Allow a 6 year old free access with a sanding block for 5 minutes. Finally stick a price tag on with a 25% hike and let the marketing guys go hog wild....

  • @Stratboy999 i love fenders they r my kind of women , BUT relicing is for idiots , i do love a tinted NITRO finish though , i do hate micro tilt neck adjusment and lsr nuts and polyetherane finishes and the fact that fender doesn't have one single floyd rose model, my dream strat was the richie sambora custom shop, if what u say about b/c/d/ grade woods is real well i'm willing to diss fender

  • @BayouBluesMan I love Fenders too. The design is genius but the whole relicing thing gets my goat. I have guitars that I have PLAYED for 30 years and they don't look anything like these.

  • @BayouBluesMan yay if you want a strat with floyd there are charvels

  • this isnt how you relic a guitar. title should be - two blokes making an ass of themselfs ruining a guitar body

  • Im going to try this with my Pipe Organ!

  • Kinda did the same to my bass in the garage but just the back, the front see, you use a small hammer and then you finish it off with some sandpaper. Brilliant man! Thanx.

  • YOU FVCKERS!! WHAT HAS THE GUITAR EVER DONE TO YOU???

  • HAHAHA

  • disrespectful

  • dickheads

  • que estupides

  • I pay an extra $500 for that shit? fuck i can do that myself

  • please respect ur instrument!!!

  • MORONS, BEAVIS AND BUTTHEAD STYLE!!!!!!

  • @garybryant7 You say Morons to them, but say it to fender who fucks up their guitars the same way... Relicing guitars is the stupidest thing ever...

  • That looks like crap! It's as if somebody just kicked it around on some asphault! oh wait.....

  • hope you used the body . it had a good ring to it when it was bouncing

    across the ground

  • idiot face at the beginning thinks they are making a great joke

  • I like that it still shines:))

  • Now that's real craftmanship! Can you do it once more with a concert piano?

  • THE INSANITY!!!! I'm making a frankenstrat and I reliced it with a razor blade and sandpaper. Dad thought I was stupid to do so but I had no problem with it. but this, this is just wrong..... *shiver* I can't stand to se a guitar kicked a round. If your going to f*** up your guitar, do it with love.

  • That's alder.

  • You guys are idiots.

  • Comment removed

  • For the Relic haters - its a finish option...like worn jeans.

I like not having to polish my guitar and worry about dinging it's perfect finish, I gig mine every week...am I a fraud...no, I have two great guitars, nobody thinks they're original 50's and 60's...in fact they are better built.

Don't worry about my guitars, they really have nothing to do with you and unless you're a mind reader my motives for buying one aren't in your cognisance.

    Best wishes

  • My dad actually did that to his strat. It looks hilariously cool

  • I guess that works....

  • Wait, I thought 'roadworn' meant it was connected to a car with a rope and then... ah nevermind too painful to think about it.

  • @SwoobGuitar

I think you was kinda right ^^ XD

  • You guys suck. This offended me very much because me and my family are struggling to find the money to buy me a electric guitar while you guys are throwing a guitar body everywhere. It's sad to know that I have to go to my friends house to play an electric guitar while these guy don't fucking care.

  • @malacif HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

  • @malacif Its kinda funny that these guys probably car more about guitars than you ever will.

Its a finish choice. They aren't ruining the guitar. You must be really poor with internet acces and all.

  • @malacif Hey, if you get a 5 dollar soldering iron, you can build a very nice guitar yourself. Ebay sells everything you need. At about 1/10 the price. Also, Squier by Fender makes some great guitars and you can mod it out.

  • LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLl i really laughed on this one xD the guy is so funny JAHAHAHa

  • hahaha, so that's what they mean with, road worn :P

  • its amazing to see in these comments, that some Americans have no sence of humor..and take themselfs way to serious. its just 2 guys having a go at the heavy priced relic Fender guitars. whats wrong about that?? lightenup poeple!! in WW2 the British and Americans where fighting side by side. so dont start giving eachother shit now! Greets from The Netherlands

  • You dumb fool.

  • SIETE DELLE TESTE DI CAZZO.

  • fucken douchebags!!!

    THATS LIKE BREAKING MY BONES

    fuck you!virgin-only-in-the-nose-queers

now go fuck your fat hairy pal

  • you guys are funny :P

  • people who don't like relics have never played one of bill nash's guitars

  • wtf,thats horrible!!!

  • haha if you don't like the relic guitars don't buy them you fucking nobs, hahaha

  • Looked like fun to me!

  • retards

  • Dream job.

  • Just play it for 6hrs a day...and in 20 years...bingo,,relic...(dip shits)

  • There is no age limit to goofing around and having fun, they were just goofing around with a cheap body making fun of the relic guitars.

  • 2 clowns

  • dusche bags

  • arent you guys a bit too old to be acting like teens on youtube?

  • I use a propane torch on low and a scrape blade

then feather out the marks or wear spots add buckle rash

add a cigarette burn few light dents be creative do a scrap body first

you can make a metal pattern so the torch loosens

just the areas you want to go through so each one comes out the same each time

then sand and steel wool to desired look

use stew mac colored nitro tints

and deft nitro satin to finish then steel wool to finish wallla! relic

easy to do reassemble and let it rip!

  • @rfkurt ya and i took some old dog chains and beat the shit out of my guitar for 2 weeks

  • Your Totally a BIG Idiot...You are hurting HER..bad

  • retarted crackers on crack

  • Hell just give me like 4 or 5 gigs, I'd have one looking better than that!!!!

  • This is very funny. However, anyone with an ounce of common sense will know the difference between something that's been thrown around a car-park, and something that's been rubbed by an owner’s fore-arm constantly or put down or knocked unintentionally. Having said that, Buddy Guy's Strat fell off his car roof-rack once...so the damage would have looked a bit like this.

  • funny stuff guys! That's a serious "road worn" body!

  • @mayito714 yeah I would never spend that much just to relic it, I reliced a strat I got off of ebay for 700

  • WOW it looks like they kicked it about in a car park for a minuite great stuff

  • Idiot.

  • Well, they actually do it with tiny hammers and very fine sandpaper.

After that they put brown shoepolish on the places where the paint has come off so it looks like the paint has been worn off for decades.

Playing football/soccer with a guitarbody is also a way to do it but you'll probably damage the wood instead of the paint.

  • Hey dude.... you dropped your guitar.

  • fag

  • Here's my two cents. I would never buy a relic guitar, I'd rather do it myself, whether by playing or by dragging the guitar around. The reason I like relics is because I don't wanna feel that the guitar is too precious. I don't want anything to stand between me and my playing. I have a Les Paul Custom, white, its beautiful, but I'm always afraid of scratching it when I play, so onstage that is a hindrance... I beat up my strats and never care cause they look good anyways. Just my opinion.

  • @spicbuddha This would make sense if you had not paid 3 grand for it...

  • The strap button may lose something in functionality...

  • Fucking Retarded!!!!

  • it doesnt even look aged it looks like someone kicked it around a parking lot. =(

  • omg! This is the stupidest thing ever. As if artificial relics aren't stupid enough, no guitar ever gets that much damage (stages aren't made out of rocky concrete/asphalt) and the horn's strap pin would never get dinged like that. I grew out of the fake relic phase soon after owning a very expensive, super authentic looking relic. Sold it because it started bothering me none of the wear was from my own playing...in fact, it wasn't even from anyone's playing! Complete waste of time/money.

  • :o this is....bad...very bad, i totally agree with RevisedTV !

  • I actually think it looks nice...

I'm totally doing that to one of my old guitars :D

  • I was hurting watching them kick that body around.

  • These guys obviously don't know exactly what the Fender Custom Shop does.

  • im working on my own relic finish,,,,,THE REAL WAY

  • As horrible this is to watch, after some smoothing of some of the rough edges and installation of a sweet neck and high quality electronics this could be a cool looking and sounding guitar. However I don't recommend it, lol.

  • Exactly - this is pretty stupid....

  • morons

  • At first I actually thought you were gonna tour some music store or something. I was thinking nice and informative. But then you start kick the stratocast body around. I was snickering which turned into quiet ha ha ha'ing. if thats a word... At the end I thought "Wow... that actually looks good :)" same time I'm laughing. Great video overall. I wish I had an electric guitar :( I have an acoustic though.

  • This is very painful to watch

  • @Willlikesludwig agreed

  • this is funny.

  • I have always wondered what would happen if i just left my guitar in my back yard for a few weeks. maybe you could do a video on that .

  • This video is the best. It is one thing to have an old guitar , and over time you have put some dings and scratches in it, then you feel like the guitar has some personality of whatever, but there are people who will pay thousands for a "Brand New" beat up Fender guitar. I have never understood this. I can put nicks and scratches in my own guitar just fine.

  • Comment removed

  • stupidest shit I ever seen!!!!

  • lol nice

  • Oh my god! Why do you kick that body! That is a total waste!

  • it sounds lovely man xD

  • lol!

  • hahaha i actually believed it...

  • rape a guitar!

  • Ha!!!comme ça elle va mieux sonner!!!

quand je pense à ceux qui bichonne leur strat!!!!

  • This is the stupidest thing I've ever saw, why would you do such a thing to a nice guitar ?! Man I agree with @RevisedTV, it's just dumb to wanna look like you've been hitting the road for years if your just some homey guitarist The dudes that deserve that have spit blood and sweat on it, this isn't just a stupid fashion thing...

  • @lostdreamz901 No for the Road Worn they put stickers on that look like wear.

  • DUHHHH

  • @lostdreamz901 Haha!=]

  • TERRIBLE :(

  • I carved my enitials "TED" into my tele a while back when i was drunk and playing the "srv I miss U blues" looks dumb, but hey I lan on keeping that tele for the rest of my days, it has PLENTY of time to get old with me...

  • Lol! Iam gonna to try this with my guitar!:D thats definetely fender´s custom shop!:)

  • everyone saying these guys are stupid and lame ARE RETARTED! ITS A JOKE! These are the guys MAKING FUN OF RELICS. FUCKING IDIOTS

  • All you did is crap

  • hahaa loved it i might do it. i mean it worked pretty well

  • haha, the fucking malmsteen play loud guitar. I could take my creme strat, punt it into a minefield, put a piece of tape that says PLAY LOUD, and sell it for 20,000 fucking dollars.

  • wel, you got the realitic result with that for sure

  • retards

  • stupid fat fucking brits

  • its true tho

  • Cock!

  • @RevisedTV hey fuck you pal, calling us brits fat, thats rich coming from a guy who lives in the fucking united states of obesity.

  • @MrOlz2 you all have the double big mack on your mcdonalds menu, all mcdonalds taste like shit, we dont have that on are menu, you do, whats that tell you? and obesity, tell that to the guy kicking the fender

  • @MrOlz2 Hey that was mean of revised.. What do u guys really think of Americans tho for real??? Not all of us are into r selves and think we r better than any country. We just have some what we call as stupid rednecks

  • @bearsafetyus you dumb fuck, not all rednecks are stupid. i used to live in alabama and there are plenty of "southern folk" that would beat your ass for saying that. i understand you standing up for some people, but by putting others down is not the way to do it. asshole

  • @justjoe032 wow I think you made my point. The point is you guys A LIL TOUCHY!!!!!!! calm it down a notch and use the lil bit of brain god gave you and try observing instead talking.

  • @MrOlz2 LMAO, I lived in england for 6 years... you guys are just as dumb and just as fat as we are lol.

  • @JgHaverty .........lmao.... no way as dumb mate.... i live near RAF Menworth hill (google it) and you guys are the dumbest by far...!!!

  • @stud1664 You see military members and their families. You are not seeing actual demographics. I went to your schools. You guys are retarded, I promise.

  • @JgHaverty thats the chip on all ya shoulders that always shows through........youll never lose it and as i went to an american state school i can say i too went to "one of your schools"...... (Sunnyview High School, Costa Del Sol)

but we brits have a spine and dont have to relay on insulting words nor silly comments to make a point and for such reasons we shall always have the higher ground...

good luck with the chip and try not eating it... :)

  • @MrOlz2 you're catching up Brits, and you sound just as lame as RevisedTV. you two should hang out.

  • @MrOlz2 thats hilarious, a brit who cant realize that all English speaking country's do have an obesity problem

  • @MrOlz2 Hey don't marginalize people because of where they live, that punk shouldn't have called you that. There are dumb ppl all over the world. I think that this video is just hard to watch, because abusing a guitar on purpose, esp. when they cost so much, is tough to see. But, much respect for my friends in England.

  • @MrOlz2 Im one of the 10% of non-obese American people. I'll confirm that is now our country's new name. Good ole U.S.O. Killing 1 artery at a time. Peace. -Cody Lee Meece

  • I think everybody knows how to scratch it!? I think i speak for everone when i say we are more interested in how to yellow the plastic, or get the old checking to look authentic? right?

  • @mcski2007

    Try teabags.

Make yourself a nice cup of cups of tea and place the wet bags on your plastic part you want to "yellow".

Don't know if it would work with coffee-drap.

  • ok, never would have thought that. do you leave it for days or hours man?

  • @mcski2007

I found the website, it's dutch but I'll try to explaine:

-Place your object in COLD tea (Don't know how long, try and find out, do it in periodes of 10-15 minutes)

-You could try sojasauce (I guess you need to rub it in)

-Smoke near your guitar, the nicotine will make plastic yellow (If you smoke)

-Last thing, carefully keep it above a gassfire furniture, not to long, you don't want to melt or burn the plastic.

    I hope this helped.

  • idiots

  • sweet

  • you crazy brits

  • yep,it looks like a guitar that's seen about 30 years of honkey tonks or maybe one that's been kicked around a car park for 10 minutes.

  • wow you invented guitar soccer

  • A video as lame as the "relic" fad.

  • The whole "relic" fad is LAME...

  • you should only relic ur guitar with time and playing a shit load of gigs. Those are the people who deserve to have telic guitars, casue ina qway they earned it. Pepole who buy em like that, are dumb

  • @RevisedTV I agree 100%...

  • Cock!

  • @RevisedTV i get that but i think its a joke

  • @RevisedTV I almost agree, but the thing is - old guitars have a finish that was easily worn away, creating that "played thousands of gigs" look. Modern finishes (polyurethane) are so strong that you can play hours and hours every day for 20 years, and nothing will happen to it.

The worn look is so cool-looking, so how do you get it if you have a polyurethane finish?

  • @RevisedTV people who buy like that just want to ahve good sound:D

  • @RevisedTV Deserve to have relic guitars ? It fucking doesn't matter what people are playing. People can play whatever they want to play.

  • @RevisedTV It's a trophy to their skills and their dedication.

  • @RevisedTV you know I've always agreed with that standpoint on the relic guitars but I thought about it and I just treat my guitars too well to ever have wear like that on them, even after years of playing. So I guess I'll just never have a nice relic look on a guitar. (btw the one in this vid looks like it was beat to hell, not aged and worn)

  • @RevisedTV Says the guy in the US with no grasp of his native language. I personally don't get the fascination with relic guitars, either, and I try to keep my basses in the best shape possible. But some people just like that look, and they don't want to wait years and years to get it. It's consumer culture, as vain and superficial as you can get, but by the same token it's hard NOT to be superficial in this day and age. Just let people have their choices and leave the insults at the door.

  • @Muaguana No grasp on my native language. to that, I say blow me. to the part about weird fascination with relic guitars and keeping your axes in the best shape possible. I agree

  • @RevisedTV You may say it's your opinion. But saying someone is a dumb only because he want a guitar like this and don't want to wait 50 years only shows you don' t know how to respect other people opinios. Live and let live my friend.

  • @CagundeuAndreu wow, im surprised people still comment on this

  • Blackened134 you are so true. Gibson are better

  • cool im gonna do exactly this on my 2000 dollar strat!

  • poor strat :))

  • LAME

  • lol

  • OMG,,,, jijiji

  • The next house or auto I purchase I gonna have them do this.

  • LMAO i had a junk guitar and tried this the body Fn snaped in half LOL funny video :)

  • those swimming pool pickup routs really add to the "air" of the guitar sound

(I hate when strats are routed that way, it is lazy!!)

It's so hard to set a modern CNC router to do a proper cavity on a strat.. lol

  • I think the "swimming pool" route is totally UNnecessary, however I seriously doubt that it affects the tone in a negative way...

  • true, the whole "transfers tone to the pickups" by having them surrounded, well aren't they magnets? lol now mature 'tonewoods' affect string vibration very well, and are harder and harder to find.

Yeah the relic trend, if chiseling a polyurethane finish in "wear spots" is pretty hokey.

A nice faded chipped nitro finish is cool IMO
