  • Craig did his own stunts for this scene. As he said, "A Scouser can drop on my head with no problems."

  • AHHHHHHH! Hey now hes me!

  • i think chris barries acting is brill at this bit none better

  • His impersonation of the CAT is just spot on !

  • If you like this then get the audio book of Red Dwarf read by Chis Barrie (Rimmer), he does all the voices.

  • what episode is this

  • His impersonation of Craig Charles is so bang on, I don't blame someone for thinking they just looped the dialogue!

  • @saskabush2006 Why do you think he was in Spitting Image for so long?!

  • RIMMER IS BRILLIANT!!!!!!!

  • 0:01 to skip ad

  • They only needed Chris Barrie.

  • @DanielL5583. chris barrie once made a canceled episode all by himself playing everyone. (i cant find it anywhere)

  • @lygophile If you youtube search 'Red Dwarf Lost Episode' you will find it. Its on one of the season DVDs as well.

But Chris Barrie was ALWAYS able to do impressions of the rest of the cast, when they did the audiobooks of the novels, he was enlisted to do them...

  • Thats some brilliant acting

  • Chris Barrie/Rimmer always makes me cry with laughter :)

  • My favorite scene from Red dwarf

  • one of the funniest clips ever haha

  • Peter Risdale Scott at 0:58!!

  • The one of Craig Charles was brilliant.

  • this was from the episode called Queeg, it is a funny episode i got all episodes from season 1 --> 3 un VHS but hey are in the attic now

  • You’ve all lost your minds. Three years ago every episode of Red Dwarf was available on Youtube in 10 minute bites, three per episode. These sanitized little gobbets from the BBC are a farce.

F**k you BBC comedy, I've paid for this already, I'm f****d if I'm going to pay again.

  • Chris Barrie showing his impression skills. I watched this episode the other night - didn't really remember season II being as funny as the others, but I was pleasantly suprised.

  • holly FTW!!!

  • Hey, everyone! Stop talking about oil spills and politics and enjoy Chris Barrie's tight trousers! *Wipes drool off of keyboard*

  • @TheWonderfulWombat Oh gods how revolting. It's like when there's dog poo on the pavement and I keep looking as I walk past even though I feel sick. Then I notice the undigested bits of food, the heave-worthy yellow/brown colour and the fact that someone has trodden and smeared it half-way down the road. I can never watch this clip again now.

  • @TheWonderfulWombat

It gets better in 5, 6 and 7! Cor, he's got a nice ass!!

  • i have to say i do love r d and with the oil well its thay do that but you know its the uk that will end up paying for it like all ways over there its cheap for petrol and hear its well the chepist 114.9 so there you go the uk is so messed up and who gets the bill only the tax payers again and the ones who have got a car all the tests you do to get a licence and still the gov keeps puting car tax and tax on petroll and y do we put up with the shit a cus we are sorry to say thick

  • what episode was this?

  • @PhillyGirl1 Not sure but i'm pretty sure this is series 2

  • Wait for me me me me me !! Lool God i miss red dwarf so much..

  • Chris is epic at impressions and perfect at Lister xD

  • he's eerily good at impersonating Craig! It doesn't seem like it so much when you're watching him, but if you look away from the video and listen it just sounds like Craig is saying his lines twice (well... almost).

  • Well, this clip shows one thing: Chris Barrie is a great impersonator and actor. Kudos!

  • "Well if it's not serious when your genitals can go wondering off on their own, then i'd like to know what is?"

  • "Uuuum.... has anyone seen my legs?" Ahaha!!!

  • or is it the yellow cable ??? love it lol

  • funny that he impersonates the cat when his personality wouldn't have been on file on the ship to be able to be accidentally loaded by rimmer... unless he is literally just spazzing and doing impressions without any kind of choice or thought

  • @gazzer2kuk I thought of that, but then it occurred to me that RD is so rife with inconsistencies, that no one gives a smeg!

  • XD the first impression well you see the shuttle was late!and the cat they cracked me up so bad

  • Oh Arnold Rimmer, how I love thee......

  • Chris Barrie (Rimmer) reads the Red Dwarf novel on audio book and impersonates all the characters. It is so good! Search "Infinity Welcomes Careful Drivers" on youtube.

  • I love Chris Barrie's Cat impression, that cracked me up XD

  • That guy is a legend! I laughed so hard! X

  • series 1&2 where the best by far, after that it got too special effects based, first 2 series were just pure sitcom

  • Do you have the extended version?

  • "... or was it the yellow cable?" Oh my gosh, this is one of the funniest shows ever written!!!

  • @lonerider1985 They certainly do the best punch lines, my favourite is the one where they set off the self destruct by ordering a milk shake and a toffee crisp, that joke has the best punchline ever.

  • very funny

  • I thought back to earth was good! it was much better than series 7 - 8, they were just wrong. Look at it for what it is guys, back to earth was a step in the right direction, no canned laughter, the original red dwarf posse minus annoying Kochanski and resurrection crew, the characters acted like they used to before series 7, the coronation street part was inspired, and it was genuinely funny in places. it wasn't perfect but it was a step forwards. Long live Red Dwarf!

  • Thank you! I just wish all Dwafer's could see it the same way. It wasn't perfect, but it was Red Dwarf. After ten years, be greatful that thery're doing anything at all.

    ~

  • It was okay. I don't think it was anywhere near as good as the original series (except 7&8 - they were worse than B2E) as I actually MISSED the canned laughter. It was part of Red Dwarf and it felt empty without it. I probably sound strange, but it's true. I DID, however, prefer it without Kochanski, and it was really interesting to see Lister actually have EMOTIONS!! :o! Good trio of episodes, but I prefer the old series. Still love them, though, and I'm glad they did it after 10 years. :)

  • I agree it was amazing and way better thn series 8 and 3!!!

  • your right, but i thought it needed the laughter. its not canned laughter, red dwarf was filmed before a live studio audience. so the laughs were genuine.

    it just made it funnier.

  • I agree with those people saying that the new episodes should have had the laughter, even if it had to be canned rather than shown to an audience. It just seemed too serious without.

And I wouldn't write off all of series 7 - I'm not a fan of Kochanski in it, but before that the JFK episode and return of Ace Rimmer in particular were awesome. Oh, and the little singing Rimmers in Blue, lol :)

  • To be honest, I've never seen the problem with Season 7. Even if, yeah, if Kochanski is annoying, that didn't put too much of a dent on any of the episodes. Didn't actually make them BAD.

But yeah the first two episodes were still the best. :D Really well thought-out. And Ouroboross.

  • no, sorry Stoke me a clipper is horrible. it's my joint least favourite episode, with Emohawk.

plodding, insular, lazy and plain unfunny.

other than that I agree series 7 gets more criticism than it deserves.

  • @MzyraJ the 'Tikka To Ride' was definitely awesome. "This Chicken is great', "It's not chicken sir.... It's that man we found". "One minute you're down, and the next you're right back up".

  • Its Arnold Arnold Arnold Rimmer without him life would he much grimmer!

  • "eeerrrmmmmm has anybody seen my legs? they dont apear to be below my waist where i normally keep them"

  • This is by far the best show ever

  • I have a Mr Flibble. lol.

  • or is it the yellow cable??

  • LOL. I love Red Dwarf!

Best show ever. "I have as much intrest in saving my own life as a chronically depressed lemming"

  • seris 2 queeg

  • wt episode annd series is this

  • I have been a fan since day one. BUT they should not make another series,

    Specials - YES.

    New series - NO.

After the "Not so great" series 8, do we really need another bad memory?

I hope I'm proved wrong, I hope I can eat my words and admit I was wrong.

  • They are already making a 9'th series. Bobby has already said that he's read the script and it is "Fucken Funny".

  • he still does rock but joining the soap was the worst mistake hes made so far

  • And you're a dangerously insane human being for typing that, too are those who have given your comment a thumbs up.

  • Did you know there making some specials for the 21st anniversery in 2009?

    Can't wait

  • yanks have a very narrow sense of humour. Understanding of pathos, irony, sarcasm etc is not in their universe. Now if it was a trailer park joke, then my oh my would they laugh. Come to think of it, perhaps Grant and Naylor could pander to the yanks, and do a series set in a 5 mile long trailer park, only trouble is that all the characters would would be in bred hillbillies, with seriously dodgy perms and mullets. It would'nt last long cos there are no sisters or brothers to have sex with. LOL

  • Wow, How rude.

  • I don't think yanks have narrow sense of humour, you can't say they are all red necks either 'although being a brit I get the joke' the Yanks are good at Action Movies, the Brits are good at Sitcoms, give them credit where it's due, it would be a shame to put down their talent and say they aint funny because I have seen some American Action Movies that are just as funny as RD but in a different flavour of Humour, so come on stop putting them down and don't be a smeg head!

  • @m0neyhack3r why is there a need to divide comedy? And wasn't Red Dwarf inspired by Blade Runner? Wasn't one of the main actors in that movie American, Harrison Ford was it? point is, comedy is comedy, not one group of people or country does it better than the others. It would be ridiculously closed minded to think so. look at Monty Python and then at Carol Burnette, both shows had similiar styles in presenting comedy.

  • What, like AMERICAN rappers?

  • @blagger56 Oh, sweetheart...you have no idea. There is a HUGE group of people in this country who are far FAR from rednecks. Shame US TV does play to the lowest common denominator, which is why I watch so much British tv. We definitely aren't all rednecks, though, I promise.

  • @jeibear I know, but I just love winding people up and getting a respone on here. I lived in America for some years back in the sevennties, and while things may be different now, I appreciate that a wide pond and nearly 300 years of history seperate us, but I realise that while there are some things you do well, there are some things we do well. Patently, capping oil well leaks is not one of the things WE do well. Have a nice day :-)

  • @blagger56 LOL...*high five* I like you!

  • @jeibear @jeibear While I am here, have you noticed that on America's next top model, that MISS JAY (what is that?) with his basin haircut and dickie bow tie is a dead ringer for Dwayne Dibley. Or am I hallucinating fro msucking on my old piece of roap that has been soacked in iol from that big leak I hear about. I do not watch this, by the way, my grandaughter loves it, and well, bless her, she is only 8 but wants to be a supermodel. Bless

  • @jeibear i always thought that america should just go ahead and split itself in two already. I mean, the liberal and conservative votes are already hugely geographically based, so it makes sense. plus that way we could keep the redneck assumption to the right part of american and the rest of you could be scott free.

  • @blagger56 well since comedy is, imo, the first of man to man entertainment, Not man on stage mind you. then pathos, which is the emotional credibility of a message presented in order to reach an audience, is very easy to get. People like to laugh. making a person laugh is a wonderful way to interact and get along with another. irony is also naturally understandable.sarcasm, ha kids do that once they develop that sense personal humor, that was funny....to me! type of thing.

  • oh yh episode 5 lol

  • well if it's not serious when your genitals can go wandering off on their own I'd like to know what is...XD

  • Or is It The Yellow Cable ? , ... Hahahaha

    lmfao!!!!

  • lol great clip

  • that was great

  • Wait for me me me me!

  • Red Dwarf is the best! The first half of the series was the greatest but it kind of pandered off toward the end and finished with a cliffhanger :\

  • Oh yeah that joins up with the white cable... (explosion) or is it the yellow cable?

  • yes, i think it should have been the yellow one.

  • ¿Para cuando Red Dwarf 9? Por favor...

  • robert lywellen say there might be a red dwarf 9

  • He said there IS a christmas special set for next year which MIGHT go on to be a series.

Still unsure, I do think TV needs Red Dwarf back though! Last season left things in the air!

  • quite agree seen him talking to radio on youtube about the special episode i hope we do get a new series out of it

  • LOL. my favorite bit in Red Dwaf.

  • I love Red Dwarf
