  • Really cool footage.

  • @DownTheRoad

I'd love to do this, but I have a question. How did you finance such a long trip? Did you have to save money beforehand, or did you just go?

I don't have a lot of money, so i'd be grateful if you could explain that in some detail. :)

  • looks lovely!

  • Great video!

  • What was your route?

  • When are you guys coming to Borneo?

  • /watch?v=uQKyoGQkntw

  • I gonna do a tour with a friend in march of this year, I gonna post a nice vid of it!

  • i think this is fun!

  • sabaidee!!! awesome video, thanks

  • the music has nothing to do with the video. You should have some Loa music or none at all.

  • the music has nothing to do with the video.

  • I noticed you guys pedal in a fairly low gear. Well, at least it appears that your RPM's are a lot faster than mine when I ride long distances.. What is your experience with using a slightly higher gear, lower pedal RPM's as it relates to fatigue? Does pedaliing more in a low gear use less energy? Just thinkin.

  • Excellent video Tim and Cindie. Ignore the nay sayers, it's easy to sit at a computer and complain but you two are out there doing something.

  • heya, great tour - last summer I went from Berlin to Istanbul by bike. I made an animated film about the trip - hope you enjoy it

  • I'm Laotian. :)

  • Very inspiring to watch. The pace of a bicycle is just right for meeting people and seeing the country.

  • cool

It'sgood that you had good time.

  • so coooooool man!!!!!!!!!!

  • good video, awesome soundtrack.

    frepi, you're a dick

  • frepi:

We have learned in our 7 years of travel that one person's "music sucks" is another person's masterpiece. The music is the Grateful Dead a band with a huge cult following. Keep on trucking!

  • I am dying of jealousy here. I dream of leaving on my bike like you do so please let me something to criticize...

  • why dream of it...anyone can do it.

  • @frepi the music is cool

  • cool vid!! now I think I might do some mountain biking when I visit Laos with my mother next year!

  • er...what else are they supposed to do? Build their own hut?..They are vacationing..not trying to live there.

  • Thanks for riding thru Laos. It is a beautiful country. I'm from Laos. I can almost smell the fresh air from this vid.

  • Whats wrong with living in a small villiage?

  • for these long distances cycle tours what video cams do u use? im setting off for 4 months and have no idea what one to buy.

  • man, now this is living life to the fullest. people these days are too worried about how they look, what tv shows are going to be on, and so on. these guys know how to live life! i want to tour another country one day, would be awesome!

  • Just back from cycling from Luang Prabang to Vientiane. The video captures it well - kids in EVERY village running onto the road, waving, smiling and saying hello. Great riding, but dang those mountains south of LP are long and steep!

  • come to china,we move together.

  • Did you get many probs with straydogs. I live in N/E Thailand and they are always chasing me on my bike...

  • Oh my gosh! I am so excited finding your videos on youtube (Perhaps I am the last to know). I can't wait for your next book release. Stay on the road :)

  • How wonderful it is to be able to do what you do. As long as you treasure and love the place you visit like your own, the place will remain beautiful for many earth loving people to enjoy. Thank you for visiting my mother/father land.

  • Great stuff, naively thought that it wasn't possible to do these kinds of trips in that part of the world, got plently of ideas now!

Thanks and can only ignore all those bullshit comments

  • Even if there is all this horror in Laos, at least it's not the goddammed USA...whichh is a piece of shit

  • You must be Homng or crazy. you should read history book or something. Some of Hmong are Laos that live in the mountain, some of them got kick out of the country and that why they are mad crazy just like u haha

  • I'm agree with you Foreverilovefareast. My uncle is part of the laos army. He said "most of the people in the jungle are wanted for a crime, that's why they are hidding in there." Why hiding if you not wanted, most of the people came from the jungle(hmong people) live in sieng-krung Laos.

  • Chefkou I am truly disagree with you and your comment about Laos! IS ALL A LIE!!!!!!

I have been to Laos and i know a lot of people who visit that country. it a lovely living country people are happy ,friendly, cheap food and beautiful culture and it is absolutely not true the the comment u said about Laos!. there are crimes every where, maybe you should do more research before u tell a lie to everybody. i don't know what u have against Laos but u should keep your mind open.

  • laos may seem beautiful here, but if you know what's going on out there in the jungle of laos it's not so beautiful. They are filthy communist country who kills, raped, and tortured women, young girls, and many families. Don't let this country fool all of you of being beautiful, because behind this beauty there are killing secrets. Want more info go to youtube Hmong tortured and you'll see what I'm talking about. Thanks! much love and save your money& go elsewhere much beautiful.

  • same as in the U.S.A..... seems beautiful, but if you know what's going on out there it's not so beautiful

  • Chefkou I am truly disagree with you and your comment about Laos! IS ALL A LIE!!!!!!

  • Very cool, It is good to see this kind of stuff on you tube. I am gearing up for a long ride myself. I'll be doing the transamerica trail west to east very soon. I don't care what the people say about the music. I think its good! Love the video, Take care!

  • Is that the Grateful Dead? WTF?

  • i wish i can ride my bike to Laos, farthest i rode was around the block. thanks for upload.

  • Nice Video. Seeing yo uguys are inspiring me to go bike touring as well. By the way, what's the title of the song that you used? the one with the lyrics "wake up to find that you are the eyes of the world". Thanks!

  • Eyes Of The World - Grateful Dead

  • More than an adventure after 5 years. Do tell what is the best and what is the worst part of it all? Best Wishes!

  • The worst is packing every day and the best is going somewhere new everyday.

  • Cool video!! Sabaidee

  • Interesting choice of music. The lack of dialogue reminds me of my grandparents old 8mm footage. cool~
