Over here(USA) they define it as passing a car in the same lane, but it ends up being the same thing. They'll ticket you for it here(except in California), so that's why I asked. I want to tour England and Scotland on my bike at some point, so it's good to know that it's allowed.

@Armstrong712 I was in California for the 1st time about 6 months ago and was blown away when I saw people lane splitting constantly. I did not know it was legal in Cali. I just thought the cops must look the other way on it. Good to know.
