  • we worship the Lord, printed on Dean magraw shirt.I think he doesn't even know..

He is Lord Shiva with his family on his shirt givin' him positive enrgy for playing mind blowing guitar hehehehehehhehehe LOL

  • I love his shirt.

  • this makes me think of Cowboy Bebop for some reason :]

  • This is so heart warming. I was absolutely lost

  • I saw it! He opened his eyes @ 1:00! He never opens his eyes when he plays!

  • i dig this

  • this dosnt make any sence. not for me.

  • Incredibly creative chords. Sounds great

  • beautiful

  • I like the melody. me wanna play this

  • @TheJuliusJT Post something that is better then :)

  • He's in A#m7Am13Gm9 tuning

  • @johnnynocaster you'd need a 9 string guitar for that

  • @johnnynocaster sure? i thought it could be standard lol

  • you know, I usually love Dean's work, but on this one I can't help but think, "It couldn't hurt to fingerpick could it?"

  • your right

  • @tman916x Not at all. He's clearly going for a psuedo jazz style here. Fingerstyle would sound corny.

  • tro nuul

  • why does this song only have 4 and a half stars?

this is awesome. i love the chords hes using

  • I've grown up listening to great guitar players who use these classic arrangements for standards, but Dean is a MASTER at the chord progression in this song. Beautiful...

  • Very nice. What tuning are you in? I don't suppose you have a chord list for this song do you?

  • you dude, it looks like dean is in standard tuning. I'm not sure what chords he's using, in the beginning they look like triads, but then again i'm not sure because he plays more than the three notes in those triads.

  • Que gran delicadeza al tocar la guitarra! con sentimiento!

  • remenber MPB. Musica Pulular Brasileira...

    remenber Toquinho,Vinicios de Moraes...

  • Put some ocean behind it and it reminds me of Chrono Cross music.

  • very nice

  • i like it!!!sounds like mellow jazz..

  • this dude uses the most ex centric and lovely chords. his style is so suave and romantic. yet he's such a versatile player.

  • @jose2190s those chords your viewing are photoshopped

  • This is wonderful!

They should have taken him to play this role in movie about Emmet Ray.

  • Yes it's the same musice like some music in the manga's love stories ! When the heros wlaking on the street of paris !

  • It's like you tell a story with now words. Amazing music comes from the soul and feeds on emotions. I love the chord changes. amazing

  • Reminds me of Tony Motolla.

  • this music plays on emotions .. your fucking great

  • When I first listened to this I lost myself, closed my eyes, and I felt like I was walking in France with the love of my life or something meaningful in my life. This was very, very intoxicating music. I'm intoxicated by it! =)

  • France is sure a wonderful country to live in, believe me ;)

This is as true as this song is marvelous :)

  • you are the man!

  • you've got a beautiful soul, brother

  • Damn, I want to see a LOT more of this guy!

  • is it just me, or does he look like Monk?

  • But...monks are bald!

  • monk as in Adrian monk the "hit" OCD television program played by Tony Shalhoub , just to clafify this(but he doesn't look alot like him really haha)

  • actually i dnt noe cause i was thinking he looked like tony without anyone else putting the thought in my head

  • When I first saw a new video in my subscriptions, I thought : "what ? another guitarist ? aren't Andy Mckee and Antoine Dufour not enough like that ?", as I felt some indifference listening to one of his vids. I felt about the same way for Schackinger. But when I listen to this one here, THAT song, woah... veeerrrry nice....

  • listen to robert taylor from rpoland

  • well thanks =)

    I didn't knew about him.

  • It's a Goodall parlor guitar as commented by Dean in one of his other videos.

  • So gentle and soothing, like a mild summer-evening.

Reminds me of "Lonely Woman" by Pat Metheny (I hope Mr. Magraw wouldn't mind that comparison)

  • indeed ! =)

  • He knows where to strum unlike a lot of artist who strum in one spot.

  • This guy is so clever! using his thumb instead of a pick made the guitar sound so soothing! intelligent! :)

  • Hes hardly unique in doing it, theres 2 standard style sof guitar picking: finger like he is doing, and plectrum using shaped peices of plastics.

  • I play the classical guitar (finger picking) but in finger picking people usually use their nails (whether steal strings or nylon) but he is not! he is using the surface of his thumb and not his nail... this is what is unique about it...

  • Again hardly unique, loads of people play like that.. :)

  • i agree lol.

tommy emmanuel, and plus thats what most people do when they first pick up a guitar ayes

  • beautiful!

  • what kind of guitar is he playing there?

  • ehm lol - :D no! that is a 6-string, but I ment who built it. It is a Godall Parlor Guitar. Cost: min. 3900 EUR

  • oh :)

  • i think it's a takamine...

  • dude.. are you kidding me? lmao. it's not a 12 string. look at the head and count how many tuning keys there are

  • A MArtin.. A 5 grand one. HIgh end.

  • maybe, but martains and takamines both have that shape

  • amazing song

  • lovely song, but the light on the guitar is disturbing...

  • nice song! shame about the shirt...

  • what's wrong with the shirt?

it came with 2 packs of rolling papers

  • anyone know where i can get this shirt?

  • If I suddenly started hearing voices, I wish they'd sound like this...

  • Kinda reminds me of something from Charlie Brown...

  • India or from Nepal

  • i think he is canadian

  • Dean Magraw doesnt sound like india nor nepal LOL

  • on that shirt are the pictures of Hindu gods..Vishnu, Shiva and Ganesh. Featuring Hindu religion in print. You should be able to get that shirt from India.

  • would u know a place where i could maybe get it here in US?

  • try it on ebay or some places like that.

  • He has without a doubt the coolest shirt I have ever seen, and probably is one of the best guitarists to boot! Awesome combination

  • man i want that shirt so badly

  • hahaha!! yah! he open his eyes at 1:00 for about two seconds and he sleep again in his music..hehehe..

    keep it up dude!..

  • hahaha

  • God, that's beautiful.

  • au yeea this is real music !

  • this song mek me sleepy...

  • ha!

  • dean zelinsky is the founder of dean guitars... so maybe this is his cousin or something... i mean, why else would they have the same first name?

  • is this dude the owner of dean guitars?

  • what?...no...

  • hah its like a honey-lets-make-love theme

  • Are his eyes closed too?

  • the whole time

  • He opens his eyes at 1:00 for about two seconds

  • HOLY CRAP!!! HE DOES OPEN HIS EYES!!

  • wow if i could play guitar half as good as this guy id still be amongst the best

  • Sounds a bit like a... less dissonant "Round Midnight"

  • DEAN That was a beauty, really liked it!

  • i like this, its really nice. it would sound nice with like norah jones singing along with it =P xx

  • agreed

  • Beautiful...rich and full of emotion. Thank you; this song truly takes me places and invokes a lot in me every time i listen to you play this.

  • Then its NOT about saying "I heard this all the time". Its simply about enjoying it and appreciating his work, cause he hasnt only performed this but also composed it, a thing you may be able to do, but Im not and I admit it. However, have you heard the rithmic resources in fox fire or Isabella? The variety of elements he combinates? With a full picture of his abilities, its a must to say hes a very interesting guitarrist.

  • sounds just like what my grandpa used to play sick jazz who knows what type of guitar that is i want that so bad nice deep tone to it can someone please tell me?

  • I like the "mali" alot from his cd. Can you upload this aswell plz.

  • There only unusual cause people are of course used to regular chords + power chords. But people that play jazz and such, like myself, see these everyday.

  • No...not unusual but beautiful so let's see you, "like yourself", play those chords you "see" every day.

  • Post your video and Ill praise it. Meanwhile, this is a beauty. And independently of how many beautiful things music have, this is one of them.

  • Have you played in a Jazz band?

  • Nope. But I play bossa and prog rock and I KNOW what a Ledyan is, if you can believe that. Anyway I still like it, and if we begin by saying our whole(occidental)music is based in the combination of 12 sounds, then there is nothing I havent heard yet.

  • Did you mean Lydian?

  • Im quite sorry, mr grammatic. Im just translating from Spanish which is my native tongue. The fact is, I know enough about alterations in chords (dont care about names, but just forms, and my translation was accurate enough for you to understand), harmony, tone cluster, etcetera and I still found it beautiful. If someone else still wanted to keep on bothering, Ill better state I also wrote combinate instead of combine. Im so fuckin sorry. Oh I shouldve said fucking. Sorry again

  • Dude, put your panties back on. I was just clarifying as to what you were talking about. I dont know why you called me Mr. Grammatic. First, I didnt correct your grammar, I asked for clarification on a spelling. Second, I didnt do it in a condescending manner, I simply asked a question. If I didn't know what Lydian was, then I also wouldve been confused. So calm down spaz-wad.

  • Absolute Tone Master

  • kept his eyes closeed the whole time

  • Beautiful

  • "don't need a woman, money, or a car,

what I really need now is an acoustic guitar,"

  • just screwing with you...your great

  • great stuff, sorry to hear you blow those notes lol every great player needs to hear that "once in a while"

but other than that it it was worth my time to stop by an listen....

    For that I thank you

I wil be looking for your CD

    Good Job

or as we say in "cs" GJ

    TY TC AGL

  • that guitar turns me on

  • wow those chords are the most unusual ive ever seen

  • some of those chords scare me - how the Hell ?

  • One can hear the Sitar under-tones of Dean's style...very soothing indeed..I always listen to some of Dean's music, when i have had a rough day...Ciao

  • i feel crap now.

    this lowers my self vision.

    i CAN'T play XD

    very nice!

  • ppl must learn about guitarists like these...

  • I'll be home for christmas...

  • very schmoooove!

  • smooth!

  • Merry Christmas to you?

  • very impressive voicings, you have great style
