Tool and A Perfect Circle are the two bands that have never disappointed me. Bands usually either suck and get good or are good and then suck (i.e. incubus) but not Tool or APC.
President Woodrow Wilson: 1916 “I am a most unhappy man. I have unwittingly ruined my country. A great industrial nation is controlled by its system of credit. Our system of credit is concentrated. The growth of the nation, therefore, and all our activities are in the hands of a few men. We have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely controlled and dominated governments in the civilized world. No longer a government by free opinion,
Thomas Jefferson: 1816 “If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation and then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.”
@HootyInWonderLand lmao! i've been tryin to figure out wat he says there for a while now. haha. thanks, brother. BIKINI BANDITS, WE'VE GOT YOU SURROUNDED! COME OUT WITH YOUR HANDS UP AND YOUR PANTS DOWN!!!!!!!
This band seems to have read my mind and life experiences then wrote poetry to it and added perfect music to go with it. I'd love to meet Maynard James Keenan. Seen him live 3 times with TOOL.
where did they play these songs? what venue? and is there proof of the show? this has been bothering me for years. i cannot find any info of this session? anyone ?
Man...I'm fuckin awe stricken....these acoustic versions are just brain-fuckers....like my mind is trying to just take in all that kick-ass amazingness...the wierd thing is i was listening to this song in my car a couple days ago and i was like...the only problem with this song is it needs to be sped up a tad bit and i contemplated doing a cover or something(not that it would even come close) but fucking behold...there's an underground acoustic version =)...Heaven exists and we've found it sirs
well the timing is a lot faster in this one so he doesn't have time to hold the notes as long.i think that's what's messing with the part your talking about robot.
I liked this except for the weak chorus part. On the album, the vocals soar on the "far beyond the visible" part. Here they are just sort of flat, not tonally flat, but emotionally flat.
and, you could never take a tool song and have it sound this good so it's cool to hear maynard with pure acoustic.. aside from that hidden track on the live cd they did, salival.....at the end of L.A.M.C. which btw do u kno what the fuck that is???
It is from around 2001. They did an acoustic session in Philadelphia for around 100 extremely lucky people and someone got ahold of the soundboard copies of about 4 of the songs and there is a bad quality recording of Thomas. Apparently they did The Hollow twice in the same set, but I've never heard the other version. The guy I talked to who was at that show said he had all of the soundboard copies but he wouldn't ever share it with anyone since they told him not to.
ive heard the second take of hollow (or the first one? dunno...heard em both)...almost the same.... i think maynard said something like the first take sounding like crap...
indeed! i was watching an interview where he (maynard james keenan) was asked about another album, and he had replied, "A song? maybe, for a soundtrack. but an album? no." i really respect his music.
i loved what maynard did on the "underworld" soundtrack, especially the stuff with Puscifer, but it seems its all about Tool these days. Still, beggars can't be choosers, and i'm easily mistaken for a musical hobo :)
oh definitely, no doubt. and the live performances lost nothing of their emotional resonance. he's got an amazing vocal and emotional ability, you really feel the range of what he's singing. their songs are full of more intelligence and emotion than any of the mindless noise that seems to dominate the current rock scene. bravo, mr keenan!
@nickoli82 sorely missed? what are you talking bout...they never have left...there in the studio now writing new material as we speak...wiki APC and it will tell you
@MommyBird10 wiki isn't reliable... :\ my grandma can change what it says... I saw an interview with maynard and he straight up said that he doubted Billy and he would be making music together any time soon...
