  • Great song!!

  • Love it! .. Love it! .. Love it! ..

  • @ratface111 actually this is the correct speed, les paul was using sped up guitars on the track.

  • Ah pure platinum sheer jealousy why should one man have just sooo much talent

Bless you les bless you youtube Now I would not want to live without ya

    max

  • Oops--Sorry. I just listened to the other upload of the same record. They are played at the same speed! The other upload has a mellow sound in comparision because a lot of the high end was filtered out (or missing).

  • @ratface111 I believe this is the correct speed. It is well known that Les recorded parts of his music to be played back at twice the speed. This is the speed on my CD recording of the song.

  • Les Paul - the first shredder

  • i have this 78 very cool

  • @sbaker56 Its proberbly worth a fortune!!

  • man les paul is a monster...great playing

  • check out the guitar break...Chuck Berry's trademark riff...now we know where he got it!

  • loved this song ever since i was a little girl :D very good song ^_^

  • The "shredding solos" are sped up by les paul using the multitrack which he invented. He is not actually playing that fast

  • Idk why, but this reminds of Fallout 3 lmao

  • Love this record!! I have in 78 too! Thanks for posting

  • Awesome.....phenomenal......wizard of the guitar!!!

  • and yet many people don't realize that shredding solos of today (which I don't very enjoyable imo) that they those solos are nothing without songs like this one

  • I'm not sure. I've not seen it.

  • al jolson... i was just listening to it

  • I believe that would be Al Jolson

  • @sbarrett200 for King Kong Peter Jackson used the original version sung by Al Jolsen many, many years ago.

  • nice video.. what program do you use?

  • I really appreciate your comment! I use Windows Movie Maker. I film the song while recording the 78 directly into my computer, and use pictures related to the artist or song subject to make these vids. Thanks for asking.

  • Just.....AWESOME!

I remember hearing this song as a 5yo back in 1959 and telling my big brother that it sounded like music from outer space- And his reply was" It the future of music."

And that was back in 1959!

  • Les Paul was a Giant in the music world.

    R.I.P

  • Thant's one of my favorite songs for ever - wonderful version!*****

Thank you so much, dear Lloyd!

    Warmest regards,

    Eva

  • I once had a copy of this ''78''- it broke. A shame.....originally recorded in late 1952 and released in early 1953.

  • Thanks so much for posting this song from The past.....

So many recording artists today have no idea how much Les contributed to what happens today...

  • this songs has a mystical feeling on 78...I have always loved this song...

  • RIP Les! You were, are and will always be a legend.

    Thanks for posting!

  • I have a lot of Les Paul/Mary Ford Capitols. The originator of the multi track

recording process and then mixing them to Mono. Les Paul & Ampex (Major Stockholder Bing Crosby). In college I managed the Band/Guitar Instrument department of a local Music store that focused on Piano sales. So to boost sagging guitar sales

I dubbed about 60 minutes worth of Les Paul and Chet Atkins (Gretsch) records.

and played them over the intercom. I sold double what was normally sold. We featured Gibsons.

  • Hi Lloyd: G-r-e-a-t performance! THANKS! Doug --

  • Wonder if the guitars are worth more now after the fact?...

  • RIP

  • Great post! R.I.P. Les Paul and Colleen Summers.
