Marty had a big match against Kurt Angle in a couple of days... so in order to not make him look like a bumbling fool with no balance, he fucked his up to show that even a guy as gifted as him can fuck up too... if you look closely, Shawn is already on his feet & looks over slightly to see Marty on his ass & then falls down himself.

I think you misjudge the reflexes of athletes & actors (wrestlers happen to be Something can happen that fucks your whole performance up & you have to react in a slip second.
