With pigs, they use several large barns, they do that because if one barn has a huge illness outbreak, they can limit it to ine area. With Cattle there are 3 differnt systems they use and that video shows one of them. With Chickens, thats large scale.

well i would like to let you know that the majority of these films are undercover setups. being a dairy farmer myself, i know that animals are not treated like this ,and many of the so called "cruel" things done to the animals are actually done for their well being and to keep them from harm.
I'm glad that this does not exsist in sweden, animal standard here is very high, and the animals are taken care of. All eggs I've ever seen in the stores comes from free roaming hens, I've worked at one "egg factory" and the animals had a good life there, they were even allowed to go outside if they wanted to. There was 1200hens, but they were all healthy, had sticks to sleep on, boxes to lay eggs in, and food and water 24/7 as well as alot of space to move about.
all these pictures of small calves saying they're living in filth and can't move around.. i have much experience in agriculture and have worked on a dairy farm. they are only kept in those crates during feeding so as they get equal amounts of feed and then they are released into larger pens where they can move around. and also they are kept clean due to the fact that farmers know a clean happy animal will produce better milk for them and have a better tempermant for them to work with

I really think vegetarianism is the way to go against animal cruelty. What I found interesting was Tsem Tulku Rinpoche, in his video, The Joy of Liberating Animals on Youtube, advised his students to turn vegetarian to create the causes to build an animal sanctuary or shelter. This is to show their commitment to care for animals instead of just saying they care. We dont really care for animals if we keep eating them every meal!
The problem is that it's not just some sick people who treat animals like this, it's the whole system, is the specieism that puts animals below humans, and this justifies the use and abuse of animals. They need RIGHTS, NOW!!
Otherwise, it will just be some band aids to the greatest slaughter of all times.

for most stand about the topic of animality cruelity farming , I do agree to treat what we eat more nicely since the stress can cause muscle damage due to panic. Thus reducing the quality of tenderness.
It will taste the same, but would be less tender.
An encaged animal has a meat of a low quality because it don't exercice and also the proximity between all of them make disease spread like wildfire.
I do hope we will find a way to mix producity and quality.

However, the editors of this video are using this footage to portray all farming in this way and i can assure you it is not! In a great deal of america the animal welfare is very poor, it is much better over here in the UK

@OlgieBum not true. we can pay attention to who we buy our meat/dairy from, only buy free range chicken/eggs, milk from dairies that treat their cows humanely (yes they do exist) and spread the word. i'm not a vegetarian, but after seeing this, i'm going to stop eating meat/dairy from restaurants, fast food places, etc

I stopped eating meat for nearly two months now (i still eat fish and dairy) but i'm taking it slow,but when i've told people who i know that i'm becoming vegeterian they looked at me as if i was some kinda crazy. and they didn't even listen to my reasons because they just dont care!

Another fail of a video. Everybody keeps seeing the worst parts of farming. It's ironic how everybody seems to think some of this is cruel (although I too agree SOME of it is) but yet everyone owns a big fancy car and a lot of crap that they don't need. That stuff didn't just appear out of mid air. All the pollutants that went into making that stuff is killing everyone slowly. Also you might want to take a look at your stuff. I really think vegetarianism is the way to go against animal cruelty. What I found interesting was Tsem Tulku Rinpoche, in his video, The Joy of Liberating Animals on Youtube, advised his students to turn vegetarian to create the causes to build an animal sanctuary or shelter. This is to show their commitment to care for animals instead of just saying they care. We dont really care for animals if we keep eating them every meal!
