@Dschland92 People in Ukraine do not care whether they are in some "union" or not. They want to eat, they want to have to have their basic needs met, they want to have some basic freedoms such as speaking the language they want to speak (for many it is Russian). Yushenko failed to build a Ukraine that meets these criteria. People elected Yanukovich regardless of what the west wants.

@dare2brare The situation is worse. In 2004, before the revolution, the GDP growth was 14%, the highest in Europe. Then, in half a year after the orange came to power, it dropped to 2%. Then it was negative, production in Ukraine went to a minimum since the orange gov't benefited from foreign companies importing their stuff to Ukraine. Right now everything is extremely expensive and the country is stuck with huge loans to pay back that the orange gov't took.

and times of Revolution were the best times of Ukrainian independence... at first it wasnt revolution for Yuschenko but against Yanukovich...even after all those years im sure ppl would still go to Maydan against him, if there were a choice of any other candidat... shame it ended like this...but that wasnt a mistake, it was our FREEDOM OF SPEECH!! some ppl never knew what it is and never had votin rights!!

@dare2brare The situation is worse. In 2004, before the revolution, the GDP growth was 14%, the highest in Europe. Then, in half a year after the orange came to power, it dropped to 2%. Then it was negative, production in Ukraine went to a minimum since the orange gov't benefited from foreign companies importing their stuff to Ukraine. Right now everything is extremely expensive and the country is stuck with huge loans to pay back that the orange gov't took.
