I have to explain what the title already states?... Do the pictures not seem utterly obvious what I'm doing? This is not even a step-by-step tutorial for people to follow in the first place. It's photos for people to be inspired and/or get familiar with guitar building. Actual steps can be researched on their time when they feel ready.
Not a big fan of sandpaper. I find we lose contours when using sandpaper let alone power equipment. I strictly use remover, rubber gloves a scraper, and steel wool. It keeps the integrity of the machined contours. Matter of fact I just had a Gibson Les Paul come into my shop. I almost refused it but I needed a before and after pic of what i do so i did it. Was a teenager with his dad's power sander the binding was rounded. I replaced the maple cap and glued in new binding.
they were polyurethane finishes right? because a heatgun would've been the right choise to go with. you could've peeled the finish right off the body! :D
paint thinner is for diluting the paint or cleaning it, but I don't think it's meant for removing varnishes. The paint remover I used is for many types of varnishes and epoxy.
Sanding would take a very long time and much effort. Using an electric tool to sand it off would make it faster, but that risks in uneven surfaces and other possible complications. I heard using a heat gun to chip the varnish off works very well though.
The hell is that breadboard in the back? home-made preamp? looks super cool.. lol

I started refinishing my RG760 that I bought brand new in 1990 and then I realized I was wasting my time on a piece of crap.

@DUY1337GUITAR or you could just sand the stuff off unless its not sandable ....but as its a guitar it is right?
