It seems to me that Keating relates that one can transcend and include, since God is Transcendent, Immanent Creator and the Essence of Creation. Perhaps "transclude" would be a good word for this.
@Trundlebeth it's only linear and hierarchical to a point. development is like a ladder, but the final stage is inclusive of all the stages before it, the entire ladder. the final stage defies hierarchy. it even defies a linear progression. this is paradoxical, yes. :)

I'm not convinced by this purely linear, heirarichal (leaving the last stage behind and moving beyond) view of Spirituality. Too simplistic.
