I flew my triumph thunderbird 900 from the uk and rode this road.Thanks for the vid , it reminds me how awsome that road was, we went at the end of june and there was still some snow by the sides!
what time of year would you recommend traveling to Alaska and how many days would you recommend for the trip from Vancouver, BC? LOVE your videos, wish they were longer!
@lsoph9 I'd recommend late July through August as it tends to be driest and warmest - if not downright hot. We missed a heatwave by about two weeks which had temperatures reaching 30+ C.
I have a choice to make regarding the length of the videos, I can do shorter pieces more often, or do a long piece only occasionally. I think I'm going to opt for the shorter pieces for the time being.
@onewheeldrive we have a 26 day vacation coming up...last 2 weeks of July first week and 1/2 of August. We are heading or going to try to get to NY and back. Told my parents we would try and make this trip. But a part of us want to go to Alaska. Maybe next year. Most people have said go to Alaska in June...I guess it is hit or miss. Hey, have you ever thought of having a woman take a trip with you? I bet I could keep up even on my '10 F650GS! :-)
@lsoph9 or if on a budget. a gs500e or f. ive made a trip like this on one of those. not a powerhorse like the bimmer but all in all a decent commuter/go anywhere bike. btw 1wd thank you for the trip. will be watchign more of them
