this is my fave piece of music composed it goes PERFECTLY with this part of the movie! The rising crescendo lends a great deal of Atmosphere to this poignant and tumultuous part of the movie! It is EPIC and grand in scale as is the scene! I'm not a music expert by any means, so this is my opinion based on my limited knowledge :)
have you noticed on the begining of the song you can hear the same arrangements in the movie "Goldeneye" (same composer) Eric Serra is a truly a great composer as John Williams or Hans Zimmer :)
@spankrod I disagree. The doom of the situation is contained in the piece itself. The mood is very grim, dark, no real hope, and the violins that kick in underline the tragedy and severity of the situation. This music captures PERFECTLY the goodbye between leon and mathilda and the tragic beauty of their relationship. This music is god. 1:54 onwards is orgasmic.
@nastenkakoza1 yes true but jean reno has a very strong french accent. even though his parents are spanish. but with all of them being romantic languages they all sound similar
I was sad when Matilda started crying because she didn't want to go without him. And then when they said I love you to each other... just broke my heart. And the music really adds to the emotion of the scene.
I always cry at the scene when leon asks matilda to go down but matilda cry and she wants to stay with leon but they donot have any other choice .The music is awesome especially with that scene.
me too, i recently seen the movie & fallen in love with it, besson made a true masterpiece, along with serra, reno, portman & oldman. the chemistry between reno and natalie, and natalie so charming and lovable broke my heart during that scene, so real. She said that it was really natural to get into, because the lines in the script and imagining her parent/protector in place of Leon, and feeling as if you'll lose them, i always cry and i cant help but watch the scene over & over
its the most memorable scene in the movie trully epic the emotion Leon and Mathilda shared during 1:58 sent shivers down my spine that one moment filled me with so much emotion and anger when I saw the swat team bring out the rpg and Mathildas last words to Leon "I dont want to lose you" broke me in half this was the most emotional film I have ever seen a powerfull masterpiece in drama and the most heart breaking of all scenes BRAVO LUC BESSON AT HIS BEST
well i had to listen 20 videos here on youtube to finally find this one that im been looking for
