These fly overs are intentional on their part to make sure that the US still recognizes that a Russian bomber is a potential threat and that we're still paying attention. Look up some more videos to find the pilots from both countries smiling and waving to one another. It's almost like a game.
@Triundi flights in international air space are normal and if it is an intelligence gathering mission it is also normal. I don't see what's the point of Russia restarting their strategic bomber patrols. The US had stopped it after the cold war. It's just to show how desperate the Russians are to remind the world that Russia is still a major power. Without nuclear weapons, Russia's military would barely be noticed. If USA had no nuclear weapons, they would still be considered a superpower.

When I talk battles, I mean the fight for strategic locations and battles that when won, resulted to significant gains that would result to a turning point. Our soldiers won their war as they beat the living hell of NVA and vietcong.

But that would be impossible as it would only further escalate the war with China & USSR playing an even larger role - therefore that was never the objective.

Even after the end of the cold war, American and Russian bombers are still flying 24/7 around the globe and circling each other's borders.
Nuclear submarines are still patrolling the oceans, waiting for a call for launch their missiles.

I don't see what's the point of Russia restarting their strategic bomber patrols. The US had stopped it after the cold war. It's just to show how desperate the Russians are to remind the world that Russia is still a major power. Without nuclear weapons, Russia's military would barely be noticed. If USA had no nuclear weapons, they would still be considered a superpower.

The only thing is that the US withdrew from the war because of their citizens' demand to end the war. America is still fighting in Afghanistan and I don't see them getting screwed. @TheK1ll0. LMAO. The NVA & Vietcong only succeeded in ambushes and a few small skirmishes outnumbering the Americans 10 to 1. When I talk battles, I mean the fight for strategic locations and battles that when won, resulted to significant gains that would result to a turning point. The only non-combat battle the Vietcong and NVA won was the propaganda battle. The politicians lost the war, they didn't get what they want. Our soldiers won their war as they beat the living hell of NVA and vietcong.

@OBSysteme. The objective of the Vietnam War was to protect South Vietnam from falling into Communist rule. To destroy the Communist threat, NVA and NV gov't would have to be destroyed. But that would be impossible as it would only further escalate the war with China & USSR playing an even larger role - therefore that was never the objective.
