where as Alphonse came back to his original body and he's still an alchemist, in the movie { conqueror of shamballa , they meet up, etc etc watch that. }

Edward "dies" because Alphonse resurrected him with the philosopher's stone, and Alphonse disappears, and Edward brings HIM back.
