@FaSoLalabama You're right! I've sung with these atheist groups, and it's all a bit cold and four-square eventhough they sing well. When my fellow singers discovered I actually believe the words, I quickly became persona non grata.

Philip Doddridge wrote an Advent hymn entitled Hark, the Glad Sound! that we sing every year. (Lutheran-ELCA). It is to the tune of CHESTERFIELD by Thomas Haweis. It can also be sung to DIE HELLE SONNE by Sigmund Gottlieb Staden. Did you all know this? Any posts of it.

i've loved this song ever since i heard it from lomax's tapes. it's a shame the mic isn't in the best place for it. i'd rather hear it all from the center. omni-directional style. thanks for posting it!
