How can you separate religion from God? The Bible itself talks about "true religion". If there were no religion how would we even know that God is love? I'm not saying religion as the steeped in tradition nonsense that it has become but in what God intended it to be. To discredit religion is to discredit 2000 years of Christianity, to discredit all those who dedicated their entire lives to studying God's word. Yes we need relationship with God, but how can we have that if we dont know who He is?

It's about sacrifice, loving your friends and enemies, being free of attachments and addictions, patience, kindness, modesty, selfless-ness, hope, preservation, endlessness, unconditional generosity, honesty...

Religion wasn't added into it. It has nothing to do with it. It's about a Creator who loved a people into life with no strings and gave them the ability to love and be loved.
